Nonsense, most reports I have read have been very complimentary. If anything Saints being in the CL would be a bigger story for the press.

My Nan's brother was a Lancaster Bomber pilot and died after being shot down over Germany in WW2. My Nan passed away only a few weeks ago aged 96. When you think of the life she had, all the experiences and the people around today because of her, it makes you think of how much is lost through war. I have read a little bit about WW1 and what those guys went through was unimaginable. I find it even sadder now that all the people who were involved are now gone, it's like it's vanished forever as a real memory and is now a distant chapter in history. That's why we should never forget.

We might have highlighted hundreds of players, fact is they are here because Koeman wanted them. Just like Osvaldo was here because Pochetino wanted him.
-
Don't really know enough about his specific role and how he has done to give a sh!te.
-
Looks to me like Levy just trying to appease the clubs fans, Spurs fans are a miserable bunch of w@nkers. If he wanted our head of recruitment he could just give him a call, there's no need to go to the press and make it public. It's only in the paper because it's international break and there is only so much you can write about a sh!te England team.

Five good sits on the bench and a couple of 10mins here and there for a big club you mean.
-
No, think it was just for the media. I guess all clubs use translators for players that don't speak English tho.
-
Exactly. The prize of CL football is so great there is no way they will want to risk losing out for the sake of giving some academy kid a run out or trying to make Mane or Rodriguez play like Pelle.
-
Only one of the squad on Saturday was an academy player and he was on the bench.
-
Re-shuffling the pack with players who can do a job is not strength in depth. We need to be able to replace Pelle with similar and keep the same options out wide.
-
But Rodriguez, Long, Tadic and Mane are used as wide players, I think we could do with quality back-up for Pelle.
-
I dunno, we got shot of Cortese and got a better chairman, same with the manager.
-
No thanks, was another good bit of business flogging him.
-
Not sure it matters wether we keep them or not as this summer has proved.
-
So they are the most successful club in English football history yet all of a sudden they are too far from london to attract players, WTF is he on about? Liverpool has always been 200 miles from london and it's always been a sh!thole. Attracting players is not the problem, it's finding the right ones when your a sh!t manager that's the problem.

Didn't the unions vote him in because David was close to Blair? Whatever the reason, it's a monumental f*ck-up. With UKIP eating away at he Tory vote and the Lib Dems as popular as genital warts this election was there for the taking for Labour.

What a load of old sh!te. Basically some nobhead journo doesn't understand football so puts it all down to luck.

All teams will drop points against so called lesser sides but fact is it is harder to pick up points against teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City - it doesn't matter who you are. I'm not saying we won't, but until we play a good team we cannot judge.
-
The stats might say one thing but fact is we have had a freakishly kind set of fixtures. We are a quarter of the season gone and yet to play Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton or Man City. In the Premier League it's as much about who you play as how you play. At the moment we are that old nag who is leading the Grand National at the 3rd fence, the one that always ends up last or face-planting at Becher's Brook. We may be the real deal but it is too early to tell.

Will Roko and the board go for broke in January!!!
aintforever replied to Bermuda Saint's topic in The Saints
We will have a better idea of our chances come January, at the moment we are probably in a false position due to our easy fixtures. Between 30th Nov and 10th Jan we play Man U and Arsenal twice, Man City, Chelsea and Everton. If we are still top 4 after those then I wouldn't be surprised if we strengthen in Jan. -
Stayed at the Premier Inn Buchanan Gallerys when last in Glasgow, that was very central. Plus if you get one of the rooms high up you will get a great view of the riots below.
-
I think we will win comfortably. A good chance to put more distance between ourselves and the other Champions League contenders.
-
Ironically we've improved by getting rid of all the academy graduates and replacing them with better players.
-
We do seem to be very successful. I think a lot might be due to our catchment area, the fact that Southampton is a half decent place to send your kid, plus the size/position of the club means youngsters will get more of a chance to break through.

Lots of clubs have academys
