  1. If groundwater extraction does contribute to sea level rise then we should be even more concerned about adding to it with climate change.
  2. It is weird how the Scottish, Welsh and Irish can be so nationalistic yet we can't. I guess it's because we are so obviously better we are afraid it will come across and being arrogant to boast about it.
  3. The only lack of backbone is the MP's not having the balls to tell the so called experts that the obscene pay rise is not appropriate because for the last few years theywe have gone round telling the public "we are in this together" whilst making cuts all over the place. How about we save a bit of cash, put the IPSA on the dole and just link MP's pay to other public sector pay. If teachers and nurses get 1%, MPs get 1% - sounds fair to me.
  4. It should be transparent and save money. Otherwise how are we "all in this together"?
  5. In the spirit of austerity they should be costing the taxpayer less. What is the point of reforming the benefits if we are going to hand it back in salaries - makes no sense at all. It would be interesting to see how independent Ipsa actually are, I expect they are all in bed with the MPs anyway.
  6. Sounds like it's kicking off in the stands now.
  7. Can pompey be any more of a laughing stock?
  8. Skates fighting amongst themselves.
  9. It's not really bizarre though is it? People are late for stuff, that's life, it's not exactly one of the mysteries of the universe. i.) I'm guessing 9 out of 10 late-comers were just having a good time down the pub with their mates and lost track of time. I'm often late because I'm having a laff with mates I don't see that often and am not particularly fussed if I miss the first couple of minutes. Plus we traditionally tend to leave the pub 15mins before kick-off (think it goes back to the old Dell days) regardless of where we are drinking, after a few pints getting from anywhere in town to the ground in 15 seems achievable. This can be a bigger problem on away games, especially in London. ii.) At St Mary's it is physically impossible to watch the whole first half, queue for a beer, drink the beer and be back in your seat before the second half kicks-off. Unless you down it in one something has got to give. iii.) I guess some people just need to be somewhere after the game so can't afford to get stuck in traffic. Not really rocket science.
  10. They couldn't even be arsed to put the flag the right way up. It reads Por Play U.
  11. Lowe's biggest mistake was his wage structure - we ended up with a bloated squad of average £1-2mill players who were willing to play for peanuts. If you don't pay the going rate you won't attract the quality or keep the players you want. We could have used the money we did have much better through frees or loans. Lowe does deserve some credit for the stadium and academy but some of his footballing decisions (Rugby coach, Wigley, Poortvleit etc) were just plain bonkers and at the end of the day the only thing that determines success at a football club is the team on the pitch every Saturday - get that wrong and everything else is just meaningless.
  12. LOL. I did heat island effect in GCSE geography I would be very surprised if it wasn't factored in. It could me measured very easily by comparing results to records from rural locations.
  13. It's funny how no Saints fan seems to care if Lallana is pictured with a Skate yet the blue few are crying like a bunch of babies. The fact that they have such a chip on their shoulder is hilarious. WTFILN
  14. Who's the corpse propped up on the left?
  15. A sh!t load of cash, and a chairman who knows you have to pay talent what they are worth. A team of academy graduates is probably the dream of every other chairman in the league - Lowe banged on about it but it's not an original or new concept. Everyone wants to do a Man Utd or Barcelona.
  16. Absolutely. At least we agree on something at last.
  17. I disagree, I think he was murdering out of religious ideology. You are entitled to you opinion though.
  18. Both were fighting for a good cause. One the evil of the nazis, one the evil of apartheid.
  19. F*ck me, are you 12 years old or something? Do you really need me to explain the difference between those guys and Winston Churchill?
  20. It's never nice or desirable but sometimes violence and killing is necessary, just like it was for Churchill during WW2. The only people to blame for the events in South Africa at that time is the racists in government.
  21. I see I have touched a nerve with my explanation of your racism. Truth hurts maybe?
  22. You're a different type of racist to him, you are just too stupid to understand your own prejudices. "He's a black bloke who killed whites - why are people calling him a great man, I don't understand!"
