  1. And they will lose a grand each.
  2. I went to a comprehensive school during the Thatcher years and it was truly awful. Totally under-funded, think we went on one school trip the whole time I was there (Fishbourne). My mates year went to Stonehenge but they couldn't afford entry so just parked on the roadside and looked at it through the fence. Teaching was terrible, many lessons consisted of the teacher putting on a video and just sitting there. horrendous bullying, fighting and depraved **** like girls getting fingered whilst in lessons etc. I actually thought all schools were like this until a few years ago when we took on a new client at work which was a top private school in Surrey. I was astounded at the sort of schooling rich kids get in comparison. That's partly why I hated Thatcher so much.
  3. I would have preferred liquidation but fair play to he blue few, even though they don't have full ownership the important thing for them was to get rid of Chanrai etc. I think fan ownership will be a complete disaster though. The Ted Bates statue was a perfect example of what happens when football fans get to make decisions that should be left to business people. Even though a CEO will be appointed he will be in a no-win situation of having to keep the mong hoards happy whilst making important tough, unpopular decisions. Coupled with the fact that the skates are not the cleverest bunch and have delusions of grandeur - you have a recipe for disaster.
  4. That would be the Bradford that has been stuck in the 4th tier since 2007.
  5. SSN just said they have agreed to pay Chanrai £3m plus further amounts over the next few years. I think we all know how this is going to end up. Admin number 3, probably this time next year.
  6. Why on earth would the other League 1 clubs suddenly turn round and decide to reverse the penalty?
  7. I expect the scousers will have something planned...
  8. Thatcher f*cking hated football fans, couldn't think of anything less appropriate.
  9. Good post, sums up exactly how I feel. Forget the miners, mining and heavy industry was always going to be in decline. Thatcher had a duty of care to the communities effected but you could tell she didn't give a sh!te, it was as if she saw them as the enemy, they would vote Labour anyway so she just left them to rot. Collateral damage in a war against the unions born from her own ideology.
  10. The Poll Tax was a complete disaster, even most Tories admit that now. It was completely unfair, a millionaire living in a mansion paying less than a few people holed up in some sh!t hole flat. Just like with income tax, it should be based on ability to pay.
  11. I wouldn't base anything on Lowe's criteria, we now have owners who have shown they are willing to invest. Under Lowe we were always on a financial tightrope and rich owners aside, there is more money in the Prem nowadays. building costs have also gone up tho. Another thing to think about is the financial fair play rules which might make it more worthwhile to tip cash into developing stadia and revenue streams to keep competitive.
  12. Would be worth it for entertainment value.
  13. I can't believe she is going to get the same style funeral as the Queen Mother and Diana, that is f*cked up. I agreed with some of the things she did. The way we won the Falklands showed good leadership (though her cutbacks probably contributed to them being invaded). Other stuff she did to encourage small business was also good but the way she destroyed some communities up north was disgusting. she did alot of bad things and that should be recognised. It's typical that she popped her clogs in the Ritz yet we are going to end up footing the bill for her lavish funeral. Hopefully some p!ssed up northerners will ruin the occasion.
  14. R.I.P. It's never right to celebrate someones death, even complete c*nts.
  15. Agree, except for the overspending on players being an error. A club like Saints will have to spend over the odds to bring in quality until the club becomes a bigger name. Cortese has made errors but not in the important decisions.
  16. We can't finish 10th, Turkish told us so.
  17. Some serious twitching from Arry there.
  18. would be a great result if QPR hold on.
  19. This thread is starting to drag now, when is their court case?
  20. Despite a few very minor cock-ups Cortese has got all the important decisions correct, Pochettino looks like an inspired choice. I thought it was crazy getting rid of Nige but I think our players are better than we all thought they were and were under-achieving. Things look very bright for the future, the potential is there for SFC to achieve more than many on here think possible. It will be a proper test for the new manager though.
  21. We always beat West Ham at home, easy 3 points.
  22. He's obviously done a good job so far, so yes.
  23. For me the only one close to that Channon goal is the Le Tissier one against Blackburn. Both of those are way above anything else I can remember.
  24. Nowhere near safe yet but things are looking promising.
  25. Established Middle Class - what a load of old b*ll*x Classes don't exist anymore except in the minds of a few sad British w@nker wannabies. Everyone has different lives, different jobs and different interests. It's lucky there wasn't a 'do you watch football' option otherwise everyone on here would have been placed in the chav sc*m section.
