I didn't even know he had signed for Newcastle, and have to admit that when I saw the scorer I assumed it was someone else with the same name. I can't believe that useless overhead own goal kicking penalty missing **** is in the Premier league.

HMV woes, Internet shopping and the future of retail
aintforever replied to pap's topic in The Lounge
Buying CD's and DVD's will just go the same way as vinyl, and HMV will disappear with them. Downloading is cheaper and easier, I expect eventually books will go the same way. -
For a moment there I actually thought Dune had turned human and cared about the people of Ivory Coast, oh no it's the mineral resources and Western interests. At least in this strange world of freakish weather, birds falling out the sky and Leon Best hat-tricks we can rely on Dune to be a c*nt.

Chamberlain to Arsenal or Liverpool £10m
aintforever replied to forever a red and white's topic in The Saints
It's true that players generally get their own way but if Cortese decides he doesn't want to sell then he doesn't have to. It's not the typical situation. There havn't been many League 1 clubs owned by billionaires before, there will be a limit to what anyone will pay for a League 1 player, if that limit falls below Saints' valuation then he wont go anywhere IMO. -
I thought yesterday was his last game on loan, we now either buy him, extend the loan, or he goes back. It may be that Adkins thinks Austin will be better value than Guly.
-
Because Lambert isn't the goal machine he was last season, Guly's loan has expired, Connolly is injury prone and Barnard might go to jail.
-
That's crazy, if they had won yesterday they would be level on points with us -where exactly do Charlton think they should be?
-
Jesus no need to get on your high horse I've already said what he did was dishonest - I just don't think he's any worse than the banks who gamble on the stock exchange knowing full well if they lose the tax-payer will bail them out. Everyone in today's world is a capitalist and has to be to survive - that's my point all he's doing is what's best for him and his family - screw anyone else. Just like the bankers who are raking in billions, Mp's feathering their nests with tax payers money and company directors claiming VAT back on their wife's petrol.
-
Burglary is illegal what my mate did is not. Like I said the responsibility lies with the lender, the banks are free to choose who they lend to and how much. Just like my mate can choose to live in whatever country he wants. Taking/making little difference in today's world. I would class what the banks do as taking money.

This league is wide open, Brighton are 6 points ahead but at the same stage last season their points tally would only have put them in 4th place. After 22 games Leeds were top with 53 points. It's a poor league this year, Saints COULD win it by a distance. We've only really started playing well in the last few games yet we've slipped nicely into the top 2.
-
This winning mentality stuff is all ******, firstly if we play our reserves then the first team wont have lost their winning mentality because they would not have played. Secondly we are playing a Premier league side so will more than likely lose anyway. The important game is Oldham on Tuesday, I would put a team out Sat with that in mind.
-
I would rest a few players, don't want to risk injuries or suspensions.
-
We have already made substantial bids for players
aintforever replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
A few injuries and we would be light in the winger and striker department. -
Great stuff, that was the sort of game we wold lose under Pardew.
-
I thought it was strange because he would be a good option to have on the bench, we don't have alot of options if Chambo and Lallana get injured. It has turned out a good move for both Saints and Puncheon but if we had needed backup on the wings we could have been left short. IF he is a disruptive influence then getting rid is 100% the best thing.
-
Hasn't done anything illegal, and he's no more or less scummy than the banks.
-
Norwich isn't south of Birmingham and we would probably get higher attendances than Cardiff if we were in their position.
-
Maybe, or maybe the banks just charge the maximum they can get away with anyway regardless of how many people default. Either way it's all fair game, that's what capitalism is about. Grab as much cash for yourself and **** everyone else.

Bad debt did cause the credit crunch but the responsibility lies with the lender. I wouldn't lend anyone money unless I knew they would pay it back. My mate has family in Belize.
-
I tend to agree with Saint John. Surely if the rationale behind Clive Woodwards eye gym is sound then the same theory applies to the kit. Bright kits are easier to see than black kits, if you have to look up and pick out a player in a fraction of a second surely the clearer they are the better?
-
The guy I know is not regretting it, he was quite badly in debt but had some money in his property so instead of paying the banks back just got further into debt, sold his house and buggered off to Belize. He actually worked in the mortgage industry so is aware of the laws surrounding debt etc. It was a simple choice of spending years paying of a debt living like a scumbag or spend 6 years kicking it in the Caribbean. If you plan it right it is surprising how much cash you can get hold of if you have a good credit rating. It's a bit dishonest but the way I see it the system is set up so that the government arse rapes you for tax, banks rip you off for the privilege of having a roof over your head - why not use the system to your advantage?
-
Brighton are certainly on top at the moment but the big boys are cumming at them from behind.
-
I would have him back, was a strange move sending him out on loan anyway. Of course if NA thinks he's a disruptive influence then that's a different story, better off getting rid. To be a good team it's more important to have everyone pulling in the same direction than have the best individuals.
-
The Brighton thing is similar to Bournemouth where they are much smaller so have a bit of a chip on their shoulder. It's hard for Saints fans to hate clubs that we see as nice small local sides, it would be like hating Eastleigh or Sholing FC. I think it would be great if Saints, Brighton and Bournemouth go up.
-
Bizarrely, it was exactly the same - 6 points.
