It is weird, you would have thought the club would want the money in the bank as soon as possible. Also you would think the longer they are on sale the more they would sell, the feel good factor from the Wembley trip would have shifted a few, there is now a chance of some people losing interest and choosing to spend their cash on something else. The only thing that would make sense is if they have a big 125 years promotion planned and announce ST sales at the same time as a Keegan type signing. England are rubbish, and barring one competition that was at home, always have been. Every World Cup we get the same mongs who think we will win it, but they are deluded if they think we have anything more than an outside chance. The problem is people get a distorted view of how good we are because of the riches and fame of the English game. Portugal, Korea Republic, Holland, Turkey, Croatia, Bulgaria & Sweden have all reached the last 4 more recently than England.

That's actually the opposite to how Le Tiss took them. He always side-footed it with his instep and kept half an eye of the keeper. If he saw the keeper move to the side he planned he could change the angle of his foot at the last minute. If the keeper hadn't moved he would hit it to the planned side knowing he could make the ball get there before the keeper. If you decide where to kick it before hand and don't change your mind you make it more of a lottery. But obviously few of the current England team have the skill of Le Tiss, and would his technique work for a player with less skill under the pressure of a World Cup - probably not.

I'm sure Ken Bates will be in a forgiving mood if the cheats blow off their creditors without any penalty then look like challenging Leeds for a play-off spot.

All the decent pubs in my area (Bursledon) have turned into gloryfied Beefeaters. Every club that has ever been punished has been because of the activities of the people running it. They commit fraud, the club commits fraud - that is how it works.

Not really, Southampton FC who owns the share was never in admin or liquidated, and it was done in the summer when all clubs apply for their share. Like I said above, if it's OK to liquidate your club and start a new one mid season why bother going into admin and get a points deduction?

Surely there has to be a points deduction for doing this mid season, otherwise any club that gets in financial problems can just set up a new company and liquidate without bothering with administration.

Chanrai has got the creditors over a barrel. Because of the way they have structured the debt here is no chance of anyone else buying the club and because of the parachute payments there is nothing to gain from liquidating the club so they can force through a CVA that fleeces everyone. Chanrai will get a CVA that suits him, he will bleed the carcass dry for a year or two then they will probably be in admin again some time in the near future.

Wrong, plenty of clubs don't have a wealthy backer. In fact last year was the first season I have ever supported a team that has had one.

So goalkeepers studying technique does make a difference. Some players blast it, other wait for the keeper to move etc. That's why having a mock shoot out against Mexico is a dumb idea.

Maybe, I still think it would help the opposition keeper if they see how players like Ferdinand, Walcott etc take their kicks, not all the England players take penalties for their clubs. Also if England do a mock shoot out against Mexico tonight and completely **** it up it's just going to add to the doubts/pressure.

I disagree, that was one of Woodward's ideas, sound in theory but all you are doing is giving every opposition World Cup keeper a chance to study the technique of our best penalty takers. I would follow Mat Le Tiss's (who also used to practice alot) example and create pressure by paying the keepers for every save they make in training.
