  1. When he had a spin out before his injury I thought instantly that he is a player who knows his way round a football pitch, glimpses on Saturday watching a stream he looked tidy enough. Then tonight's cameo I thought he looked assured and decisive when getting up the line and looking to get in a cross or a pass. i just think the miles he has on the clock and the experience that has given him is there to see.
  2. Kiss of death
  3. Boro looking close to losing their cool
  4. What a Chuffin joke
  5. Cheers actually works on my iPad with no need to bolt on any wizz bangs.
  6. Got Sky Sports on, big nose is on our game, the highlights of the game is the weather and the pitch looks nice.
  7. Bloke in row M just to the left of the 2 stewards above Jacks head in the top photo????!
  8. Not the worst game, first half I thought we looked at the races second half started ok knocked on the door, as soon as Arsenal scored we just vanished into our shell and we became disjointed. You can blather on till the cows come home about the CBs doing better with the Sanchez goal, but the bloke has the ability to make many players look a chump in spades, thats why so many of the big fish are sniffing round him. That Jack Stephens sliding tackle in the first half was superb, measured, precise, and the presence of mind to kick it away from danger while still on the ground, if that had been VVD there would have been a few on here knocking one out to that. As I have said before, overall we just look like a bang average French Ligue1 team, why do you never see French football on TV here...... because it is as dull as ditch water. It's been said above already we are generally so pedestrian in attack and then fanny around letting the oppos get themselves set, we are too polite. Claude carped on post match usual tosh, "we are making good play but not clinical enough.... it's is a problem" I am a fat bloke in the stand, I can see the subs when they are made are just re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic get out of the rut and change the formation, don't bring Long on and stick him on the wing leaving bloody Tadic to lose the ball at will in the middle, Long can win balls in the air, be a bloody pest and give Gabbi scraps to feed off, just mix it up with 2 up front: the earth is round!! Long on the Wing is as much point as a jellyfish... pointlessly floating around and stinging stuff that gets close: get me out of the stands to play out there I will be just as pointless. Glen on League one minus 10 blog often referred to the Aston Villa formation in their relegation season as 4-5- 70 yards - Benteke increasingly we have looked similar 4-5- 70yrds Gabbi, watching Claude and Eric working diligently on their colouring books making out they are thinking seriously about which deck chair to swap..... makes me wonder how much influence Mr Black has on stuff. Well to be honest Claude, Eric, and Dave all look capable of turning milk sour just by looking at it. Finally, as I note the content of my bottle has reduced as I type this tripe, the substitution of Tadic tonight, did anyone else notice Gabbi was standing in readiness to head to the touchline then number 11 went up on the board, the Paddington stare Tadic gave Gabbi was priceless.................. sorry Dusan you were bloody shoite again all night, if Claude had taken Gabbi off to bring on J Rod there would have been a riot. night folks
  9. Tadic and Boufal on the pitch is like playing with 9 men at times, they are both luxury players who can turn it on but not enough for long enough in games. Cover back defensively when they remember to. Playing to their maximum, on paper lethal, in reality too often too powder-puff to have on the pitch at the same time. Tadic on recent international breaks has commented that he sees himself at a better team than Saints, needs to up his game for that to happen, crap on pens, woefully predictable on corners (keepers ball!!!) - Get Bertie back on them, he was fizzing in some sizzlers to create a lottery in the box. rarely keeps the ball, makes very poor decisions more often than not. Versus Hull Boufal standing watching and waiting for the ball Dusan decides he is going to "blast" it through 3 big lumpy Hull defenders right in front of him!!!??? Still sing his name and he will take the time to wave to you! Come Dusan bloody well shut me up tomorrow night.
  10. Watching the Chelsea v Boro game last night, and the taters were saying Callum Chambers will be having to weigh up his options this summer. Bit of a silly situation to find himself in.
  11. To be fair he even held his hands up in apology to possibly sounding a bit biased, but qualified it (quite truthfully) by saying: its a bit hard if the team Liverpool are playing against aren't doing that much.
  12. Maybe after the Luke Shaw being left all alone and getting lonely when he arrived at Man U, and his Mum & Dad having a moan, after pampered life he had enjoyed at Saints. The club might have removed the kid gloves for their own good, no point sending a lad out on loan to improve safe in the knowledge that "Mummy's apron strings" are safely within reach.
  13. Forgot to add that we have Mr Moss on the whistle for this one.
  14. I would give Long a go behind Gabbi in the middle to give him some scraps to feed off. JWP one side to cover Cedric, Redmond on the other covering Ryan........ Maybe give Sam a run out in front of Ryan and bring Redmond on later in the game. Boufal and Tadic only really defend when they need to.
  15. Saints own Facebook page just posted a video of all Sams goals at Blackburn this season, bit like when they show us a new striker they have bought. I doubt Saints would let him slip through their fingers that easily, having played a tough season of competitive football and found the back of the net a few times. Plus both Coyle and Mowbray having positive things to say about him.
  16. you forgot to add "with more regularity".
  17. And Fonte with all his years of worldly experience never did such a thing?! See plenty of yesterdays decisions waved away especially against us. For those carping on, I actually think he is as good as people are claiming, yes he needs a goal from his journeys into the box for set pieces it took Claus an age to get his first (didn't WGS say Claus should be booked for time wasting when he went up for corners). But if you look at the other English youngster who Everton sold for a Kings ransom to Citeh he isn't the finished article either, and I would say has been seen to be more prone to dropping a clanger than our Jack.
  18. I reckon that Gallagher lad at Blackburn might be worth a look
  19. And we use to play in the blue shorts both Spanish teams still wear, pretty sure I read somewhere that we changed to black because it was less prone to fading in the wash than was found every season with the blue.
  20. Not really, it's more worrying, you are a person who likes Liverpool, yet have no support for the political figure whos face is going be portrayed on a great big bed sheet passing over your head. You are there to support Liverpool playing football not at a political rally. As an aside the FA will do chuff all about it if it happens, as they showed their true colours by suggesting that a wage cap be introduced in women's football....... Really!!!??!!
  21. Blimey going to be a late night up there polishing their Jack boots and practising a good goose-step.......... what the chuff has this got to do with Football.
  22. Which is pretty much what Koeman did last year to stop the rot just after Christmas, slid Bertie back alongside VVD and had Matty Targett and Cucu in the wing back slots. If that were the case play Maya in the middle Jack and Ryan either side and McQueen on the left.
  23. You would hope so, but looking at the body language and endeavour on Saturday you would be forgiven into thinking the new sponsorship partner was Ambre Solaire!! We have good 'ole Bobby Madley on the whistle for this one: not one of our favourites.
  24. [h=1]Andruszewski - just for when the bubbles have been flowing for a while![/h]
  25. Like the wonderous Pep has found at Man City life is is not easy in the premier league as it is elsewhere in Europe, where you have leagues with a couple of dominant forces and the rest are cannon fodder, the "cannon fodder" in the premier league has teeth sharp enough to bite back. If you look at the FA Cup there are teams from the nether regions of the four divisions who can bloody the nose of the big boys through sheer bloody minded endeavor. I doubt you will find any other football pyramid in Europe where the little fish can be so problematic. Leaving the ground on Saturday I felt like I had just watched a Ligue 1 performance, it reminded me of when Chelsea played PSG a few seasons ago in the Champions League, Chelsea played the kind of high tempo game we are use to, and for 90 minutes PSG played the almost laissez faire tempo the French league seems to play at. As a result Chelsea won. PSG played Chelsea again in the CL, possibly the following season, this time they turned up with a bit more gusto and drive and beat Chelsea. Seems like after 30 odd games Claude still wants to play at Ligue 1 pace and does not seem to have learned that the Premier League runs at a high tempo for pretty much 90 minutes (and this tiredness cobblers is also allowing players to hide behind it as an excuse), as we saw on Saturday on the rare occasions when we did put our foot on the gas we were effective. I have watched him on the sidelines a few times doing his nut at players not doing what they should be. Maybe he has lost the dressing room, there was talk at the beginning of the season that he made an impassioned speech to the players before one of the games that cleared the air a little and our performances picked up. But on Saturday there was so much negative conversation between the players, the more you think it could be possible, we have just done the reverse of Leicester who fumbled the league but played like demons in the CL, we have got to the magical 40 points and the Deck Chairs and Flip Flops are out. The next few games will be interesting as aside from Stoke everyone we play has something to play for, just as Hull did. Will we get the return of the rotation, and as we are playing Arsenal and Man U, games we normally get ourselves fired up for, will we see the mindset of the playing staff. I just wonder how much of a negative influence Eric Black has on things................ you never see him come to the touchline.
