I'm glad it wasn't just me!.......I can't think of the last time Saints scored and I didn't get up to celebrate: weird. "On the half hour something totally unexpected happens as Valery takes a throw-in to Redmond and gets the ball back and then takes on five Chelsea players, getting to the by-line before squaring for that man Danny Ings to knock past Kepa and into the net to give us a completely unexpected lifeline. Though it’s a brilliant goal, it’s kind of hard to get excited given the shambles that has preceded it. It’s a slightly weird feeling". It just looked like Valery just thought "sod this buggering about I'm having a crack"...............some winkle behind thought it was Redmond: yeah right mush! can tell you're not here every week. Once again a top report, nails hit squarely on head and I am annoyed again (thanks). think the whole afternoon can be summed up by the fact that what crowd was left at full time couldn't raise themselves to boo on the final whistle, we had all wasted a perfectly good afternoon and more than enough energy on that lot.

Keep the purse strings tied tight we bob about in trouble, flirting with the bottom of the league and the dangers of dropping out of the money spa, making the 20% left to buy cheaper as the value is under threat. Even with a couple of Billion in your pocket the principle over the last few Millions owed matters as Billionaires normally like to keep score. The money is insignificant its the numbers they like.

Think he looks like he is made of Emmental, first goal yesterday was just one of those things but he was well off his line looking to recreate Bournemouths 3rd, Yoshida was much faster at vainly hoping to hook it out, the Mount goal it seemed to just go through him like he was a hologram, the third was a kick in the guts all round, the fourth, being nutmegged through legs more open than a whores on a busy Saturday night.......................I think we have established beyond any doubt in the Premier League the standard of player you can pick up for between £15m-£20m is not going to have you knocking on the door of the Champions League, more likely stamping on the trapdoor to the Championship!

Who would you take back and what would you pay for them?

Yup he is still playing - at Shandong Luneng along with Marouane Fellani. Still rattling them in the back of the net at a prolific rate, seems to be maturing with age too 16 in 32 last year - 24 in 32 this year. Given his age we got good money for him, and far play to him pocketing £50m + in wages since he left, ain't going to see him go poor in his old age. My daughter has been following him on social media since he left - seems to have a very very nice life. -
Hasenhuttl ...can we criticise him yet...

Wasn't there something around Christmas in Koemans last season where the results were a bit pants. A bizarre 4-0 Boxing day win v Arsenal the only bright spot and by the time we got knocked out of the cup by Palace (?) there were rumours of grumblings behind the scenes at Saints from a reliable ITK - and the hierarchy weren't best pleased with various goings on, on and off the pitch. Then we hit a purple patch and went on an unbeaten run that propelled us up into automatic Europa League qualification. Seems since the departure of Les and Ralph K - it seems like there is a void of that level of club management to kick Ralphs backside (if needs be). -
...........and the chances of Southampton Nil - again ain't going to enthuse the casual supporter at that price. Bit like a one off World exclusive opportunity to see all last weeks episodes of Eastenders "the Directors Cut!" in an IMAX cinema including an introduction from Nasty Nick for a tenner, can't see he queues for that stretching round the block for that either. Southampton 2 Chelsea 0 - might well be worthy of the Doof - Doofers at the final whistle though Paul Tierney on the whistle for this one......... can't think of anything off the top of my head where he has done us wrong: unless he was the one who let Man City have another 2 minutes beyond the added time shown allowing them to score a winner up at theirs season before last.

Been doing that for the last 3 seasons - but when you have some players who earn in a week to kick a bag of wind about what I have to word my bloody nuts off to earn in a year and seemingly only capable of doing that once in a while - then a manager who makes strange selections - the effort to continue doing so with the same level of enthusiasm wears a bit bloody thin. I listened on Solent as I was unable to get a stream, blimey Dave and Adam sounded as exasperated as the comments in the match thread the longer the second half wore on!!! -
Blimey he’s got a selection for the change right

Here comes the hair

Listening on Solent - very balanced version of SaintsWeb!

Spurs seem a bit fickle at the moment - they seem to have a few grumbles in the background with players - MoPo could even be played out with them after 3 seasons and winning chuff all. If Ralph picks the right team of the right shaped pegs in the corresponding shaped holes, rather than trying to be clever in sidelining players over a certain age there is no reason why we can't walk away with result. The fact that even after 2 losses if we had beaten Bournemouth last Friday we would have jumped up to 3rd shows aside from Liverpool and Man City the bulk of the league is a bit of a bun fight waiting to happen especially as Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea, and Spurs are currently looking like wallpaper not fully pasted to the edges that other teams can get their fingers under. Adams needs a rest as he is beginning to look like he is trying too hard to get of the mark and that is hindering him from doing so.

Thats the issue when you have spent a lot of money on not so good players, that other teams have no interest in in buying, or not at the prices we are asking for. We end up with a log jam in the team due to the fact that we are trying to be sustainable rather than chucking money at it. Dipping into the academy does bring about some change, but loading the side with youngsters does add naivety in our play. Jimmy case was surrounded by nippers but he was the responsible adult with oodles of experience to keep them on the right track. The slightly damning observation from the game the other night by the commentators was that 5 of our team on the pitch played in the EFL Cup Final v Man U.

That Redmond goal from the side view, he smashed the Granny out of that! Someone asked why the greatest fans on the planet were leaving when Redmond scored, there were a few who got up when Ings scored his second, looking at the Cedric goal seems a few weren't going for a half time beer as their seats are still empty! People are weird - when we were in the final Man U went 2 up there were people on the lower level at Wembley who left their seat never to return, our daughter was on the upper deck and she said the same happened up there too.
-
No point driving home playing them twice in the same week!
-
Saints v Man City Away boooo
-
Man U skin of their teeth

Burton 2-0 up v Bournemouth playing 28 minutes of added time.
