  1. Nobody seems to like him And he doesn't give a f*ck And he never shows his feelings But our Puel on the hill Sees Pompey scum going down And the eyes in his head Sees the Saints gaining ground Oh, round, round, round, round, round And he never listen to them He knows that they're the fools But they don't like him But our Puel on the hill Sees Pompey scum going down And the eyes in his head Sees the Saints gaining ground Oh, round, round, round, round, round Oh, when the Saints go Marching In…
  2. Top ten, good run in Europe and the domestic cups (a win to drive us forward is well overdue).
  3. The concept is based on the dating software developed by Match.com, which brought Les and Ralph together after years on the shelf. It includes variables such as height, weight, hobbies, pets and sense of humour. A negatively weighted 'randiness' quotient was added after Pardew was sacked.
  4. A la Puel Sturrock...
  5. Yes, I think there is some mileage here. I may well be that Jose saw the fixture list and saw his first home game as a potential banana skin - bearing in mind Saints went neck and neck with United last season. If this is the case, Fonte has been played, like a banjo...
  6. From memory, over the last three seasons our record at old Trafford has been superb, a draw (Pochettino) and two wins (Koeman). But, I think this season the fixture has come too soon for us, and we have a weakened side in terms of guile and steel playing in an unfamiliar system. An optimistic 2-0 (realistic 3-0) to United - assuming we improve and they have an off day.
  7. Right on both counts, and the choice of the word ridiculous is the crux for me, there would be no logic in terms of finance, stability or morale. Fonte has been a genuine captain and leader for us since Lallana walked out, and if he has concerns the board and new management team should perhaps be listening to him. He was sorely missed yesterday and will leave a huge hole if he is sold regardless of who comes in, it would be a truly ridiculous decision.
  8. and the guy from Crystal Palace on this showing...
  9. By Watford, by f*cking Watford, at home...
  10. Especially when we remind them that the Koeman compo provided a large chunk of the transfer fee!
  11. It's becoming clear that we should have waited until nearer the end of the [becoming utterly ridiculous] window. However it appears that following Koeman's 'blonde ambition tour' at Everton might be fun, and quite possibly compensation. If the Toffees secure their two main defensive targets in Williams and Kone over the next few days, they will have spent close on £70m on five players with an average age of 29 (and consequently fast depreciating value). Personally, I'm not sure I'd swap any of those signing like for like for the equivalents in our side, including the reserve keeper! I hope they struggle, and I think they might...

  13. Great stuff. Good progress under the commercial dept, and hopefully a tentative step on the way to SMS expansion and refurb.
  14. Cheers FF. What a thoughtful chap Romeu is. I'd also welcome a return to the navy shorts.
  15. Hopefully the agent and the lumberjack are twin brothers. From Shirley...
  16. The last 25 games of the national team (since the 2014 WC), playing a similar system with emphasis on possession, yielded results of W18, D4, L3. This included wins against several 'big teams' (Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, France). If Puel delivers similar results with his similar system he will get us into the Champions League. The time to press the panic button is probably not pre-season...
  17. Superb. Better still if you read the tweets in a high pitched accelerating scouse accent. The Everton v Espanyol flyer is a classic - Koeman has wandered out of Habitat into Steptoe's yard...
  18. A missed opportunity indeed, and a complete screw up by the SFC 'teamwear department' assuming that there is such a thing. Getting so much right, and this easy gain so wrong!
  19. Premier Inn...
  20. The need for greed, pure and simple! At least we are not the only overachieving medium sized provincial club being raided anymore, I suppose...
  21. Gotta love Matt Targett, looks like he's on his first school trip.
  22. Yep, even more incredible that the apparently newly savvy commercial dept at the club signed it off, or indeed chose it alongside other designs. It really was an easy early win for under armour, with a take on the Rank Xerox or sash likely to engage the fans immediately, or even a traditional slick red and white stripes effort. It's the same with a yellow and blue away kit (worn in all three of our major cup finals in living memory), which 'is Saints' and just looks so much better than the alternatives. Mind boggling...
  23. Mine too. He's got two years left on his current deal and 27 in September, so possibly the 'right time' for Swansea.
  24. Of course thanks, SFC come out of of this tournament looking like a key club!
