  1. Bally was the metronome in that great Saints side of the late 70s early 80s, tough little player with a great footballing brain who got the best out of Stevie Williams and Matt Le Tiss. Bit of a character too:
  2. They are so thick that the thread reads like a schizophrenic Trigger listening to the voices in his head whilst spinning on a roundabout...
  3. A good point Adrian! I was sat next to a woman at SMS recently and she came over all 'Mr Darcy' and fainted after Poch bent over to retrieve a water bottle in the technical area. This was the same baggage that threw up into her handbag when Nigel's false teeth fell out whilst shouting instructions versus Wigan. This is what we have to look forward to...
  4. Small division 4 club on the south coast near Fareham...
  5. I've heard he's doubling up with salsa dancing lessons and that he will be reciting Shakespeare and dancing the cha cha cha with Louis Spence at half time in the Ted Bates Trophy match. That should appease the doubters...
  6. Don't worry chaps, they've got this chance and then it will be curtains. Div 4 is a kickers league and their lightweight side will get hammered. Just wait to see where they are come the new year and how many shaved chimps are paying to watch them. Liquidation is hanging over the hole like the Sword of Damacles...
  7. Disbanded long before then. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely...
  8. The is Poch's favourite Argentinian tango tackle - the poise, the passion, the penalty...
  9. Fishlock all the way, great footballer and a disgusting judo hold!...
  10. If Saints are going to join the big time we need to be winning trophies, not deleting them. If in the next two seasons we failed to qualify for Europe via league placing but won a league cup and an FA cup that would be a peachy start!...
  11. Get in! Artur, you loveable enormous loon!...
  12. FA cup semi finalists Southampton to play Juventus in the semi-final of the Europa League. AFC Portsmouth look to avoid a repeat of their thrashing earlier in the season at Havant and Waterlooville...
  13. Cheers Vectis, will do my worst ;-)
  14. Is there any way to publicly comment (or indeed mob) on this site. This bell-end is wasted in 'sports journalism' they should be writing science fiction!...
  15. Imagine Le Tiss at his peak in a good Saints side! Boy oh boy...
  16. Stay classy Millwall...
  17. Boruc was on that like it was a bottle of vodka on a desert island. What a great keeper!...
  18. If we keep playing like we have been in the past few games and take the form into next season, you have to fancy a cavalcade of caps regardless of it being Saints - Flowers and Shearer under the necromancer Branfoot, anyone? Think that Poch and Cortese may shock a few 'big club centric' pundits and journalists over the summer and start some belated head scratching about 'little Southampton'...
  19. Not a foul, and if you watch their keeper, he bottles it and then briefly attempts to fein injury in an attempt to 'recover' the situation. Le Fondre what a class act at a class club...
  20. Just shows how football is never clear cut, I thought he would flourish under Adkins, but it's Pochettino who is getting the best out of him. When we are looking in the summer I sincerely hope we can unearth some more 'bargain' diamonds like Davis and Boruc...
  21. Totally agree, spot on...
  22. Gray and Wigley used to wave...
  23. In a nutshell Gem. The Don seems well suited to playing the hatchet man, but think about the Adkins scenario If Poch finishes in mid table this season and we see heavy quality investment in the squad and infrastructure in the summer. Fans wear their hearts on their sleeves naturally, but it probably takes a degree of ruthlessness to make the hard decisions alongside the pleasant ones. The thing I am enjoying most at the moment is the way Saints are coming up on the rail, under the radar of our rivals and the majority of the media. Best time to be a Saints fan since the early 80s...
  24. Ebony and ivory...
  25. First cap aged 27, last aged 36...
