Our Future? Stadium Expansion Proposal on Season Ticket DVD
Miltonaggro replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Lot of sense being spoken on this thread, and any expansion has to be linked to demand. One variable however that does give a cause for optimism is the response to success - if you look at the three recent cup final appearances, ZDS, FA Cup, and JPT demand has been enormous, far outstripping our usual take up, even with the Mickey Mouse factor in two of those. fair weather fans, of course, potential JCLs if we push on to being competitive in the PL, very possibly... -

It's going to be interesting to see the difference Boruc makes when he comes in. The last 'vocal' keeper we had was probably Neimi, and that type of keeper can make a huge difference to the positioning and timing of centre backs, Shilton was an absolute master at it. By all accounts Boruc marshals, encourages, and b*llocks his defence non stop, and having a seen it done it back five 'skipper' may raise confidence and help the back four to settle down. Just need to get the big guy fit...

The Southampton based advertising agency given the contract to produce the brochure for the sale of Portsmouth FC were pleased with the photograph chosen for the cover under the headline 'The Best fans in the Universe'...

Golac, Williams and Dennis...

I used to love the T-shirt, Dennis was like Freddy Starr, only with a more volatile personality. Love to see him do well down there and he'll probably end up chinning droopy...

They are being replaced with 'fans power breakfasts' to be held quarterly on the concourse standing up. Delegated to Les Reed...

Having Boruc on board is a massive positive, once fit he will give us a strong last line of defence and organise those in front of him. Adkins knew full well we needed two centre halves and a full back in September and for whatever reason the 'transfer panel' only achieved one from three, so all we be aware now. I still think we have it in us to do a reverse Blackpool and keep on improving as the matches come...

Back to the tight results methinks, one goal in it again, 2-1 to them or 1-2 to us...

The best saints perfotmance i've ever witnessed
Miltonaggro replied to The Majestic Channon's topic in The Saints
That was a wonderful performance, but right up there was the 4-1 win against Nottingham Forest with Shilton in his prime in 1979 (Channon, Boyer 2, Watson). At the time they were a brilliant side winning league titles and European Cups (not to mention League Cups, FFS) and we ****ged them. Clough said afterwards that we had passed them off the park... -
This could be the one Turkish, nice work...

He reminded me of a six foot, super fit, Ronnie Ekelund. Gaston the six foot Ronnie Ekelund ;-)

My thoughts exactly, a good chance of Neimi mark two, and a lot of those recent performances and clean sheets were against the better Italian clubs...

Will we get a spanking tomorrow from United ?
Miltonaggro replied to sir woody's topic in The Saints
Felt that the Man City game would be tight, and gut feeling is this will be also. Five goals, 3-2 to us or them... -
From my addled grey cells I remembered this, could be adapted reasonably well once the carnival atmosphere starts at SMS:

The boy Clyne. Once we get a winger it will be like the 7th cavalry...

Who is the best SFC player you saw as a youngster
Miltonaggro replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
It was a genuine shame as he had a great touch, and a bit of an edge. Sounds incredible now, but I though we had found our midfield general for the next ten years. My first game was 1977 so I missed out on Stevie Williams's debut, but what a player - Mr silk and steel...
