  1. Good point about Edwards, didnt realise his championship experience. Really dont want to be relying on Lyanco as an experienced head 😱
  2. We need more experienced players in general, and particularly at a crucial position like CB. Have no issue with Holgate or HB (given hes played a season in the championship), but not convinced about Edwards. He may have super potential but we need players to go straight into the starting 11 now. We've already signed (or about to sign) a CB with the future in mind
  3. Exactly this. Some of the managers who have comfortably overseen championship promotions in recent years include Scott Parker (twice), Chris Wilder, Daniel Farke, Xisco Munoz and Slaven Bilic. All struggled in the PL. I think Burnley have a good chance of staying up, but thats only because the other two promoted clubs have done little business. They had a taste of what to expect when they played City in the FA Cup and were walloped 6-0.
  4. Norwich fans dont think hes been bang average for a long time. More so they recognise that hes been playing in a very average Norwich team who badly underperformed last season. He was an ever present (bar being suspended in the semi final) for the England u21s who just won the European Championships. Aarons was also linked with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and United as recently as last season so hes obviously a very good player. I would have no issue selling KWP and bringing in Aarons.
  5. Lost 2-1 at home to Luton today. Arent too many players I know there apart from Bannan, Windass, Paterson and Fletcher on the bench. We need to get the wheels in motion early and start with a win
  6. We're going to need to be patient. You could draw similarities with Burnley last season (and hopefully we get the same outcome) with a new manager trying to implement a new style of play, which will take time. They had a slow start to the season and it wasnt until late September if I recall when they started to find their groove. It may take us longer as they dealt with their player turnover a bit quicker than us. We will no doubt have a few players coming in at the end of August and it could be October time before they're comfortable in RMs system. Need a striker, CM (when Lavia/JWP leave), CB or two depending on who leaves, and a GK 🤞🏼
  7. You usually are 😬
  8. Pep played him there in his one PL appearance. DCM would be his better position but we're a bit short of CB options for this game (somehow given we've about 8 CBs)
  9. Wooosh. As per usual, I think you've missed the point. It's a superb move for him. I'm not criticising the move, it just re-emphasises that he was never good enough for the PL
  10. So a player who was viewed as indispensable by our previous 3 managers across the last few seasons, entering his prime and who was a free transfer, has just signed for.....Copenhagen
  11. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12287515/Southampton-weighing-Hoffenheim-star-Jacob-Bruun-Larsen.html He was on loan at Anderlecht when Kompany was manager there so this makes sense
  12. Not really fussed about any new incomings before the season kicks off, but if we can rid ourselves of Salisu, DCC, Lyanco and Onuachu by then it'll be a result. With that and Lavia/JWP/KWP all likely leaving it will give RM the freedom to bring in at least 3/4 signings to fit the style
  13. 3rd seems about right for now, address GK, CB and striker options and I think we'll finish top two. Wouldnt have Middlesboro finishing above us regardless. Carrick looks a great managerial prospect but I cant see Akpom hitting the same heights and Cameron Archer has gone back to Villa
  14. Thanks for that, would agree with alot of what you've predicted. Hard to tell where we'll be by the end of the transfer window, let alone the end of the season. Currently, 3rd seems about right unless we emphatically address GK, CB and FW options by the end of the window - which should push us into the automatic spots. Not convinced about Leicester, it could be a steep learning curve for Maresca in unfamiliar surroundings with a much changed team. Think you've been harsh on your own prospects - think Ipswich could surprise many and sneak into the playoffs. On the flip side I think you've been overly optimistic with your predictions for Milwall or Hull. If we finish the window well.... 1. Southampton 2. Leeds 3. Leicester 4. Middlesboro 5. Sunderland 6. Ipswich
  15. It wont get better, we've literally seen these standards repeated for the best part of 7 years. He needs to go
  16. Would be harsh on Jack. JWP tied to force the pass and then got beat in a leg race. Stephens could have maybe dropped off and tried to match Brooks' run but he wouldnt have had the pace
  17. Early doors but it seems the Swansea fans werent wrong; Some exciting football going forward which could result in a lot of goals Suicidal playing out from the back/defending which means we'll concede quite a few Looking forward this season to plenty of 3-2, 4-3, maybe even 6-3 games for old times sake
  18. *Release McCarthy
  19. For any of these deals that we're currently negotiating with Liverpool, WHU, Newcastle etc - can we please enquire about one of their keepers on loan or permanent. We cannot persist with the current two if we want promotion. Sell McCarthy and bring in a new number 1 who Baz can compete with
  20. What do you honestly expect when we field a team with McCarthy, Lyanco (who should be gone by now), Charles (who is better at DM), Djenepo and Adams in it
  21. Give us Downes, Areola and a few pounds and we'll consider it
  22. If true.....for somebody who only has 1 year left on his contract and has zero interest in staying with us, that would be a great deal. Yes, he may have a high ceiling with his potential but in all honesty he hasnt improved as much as we thought he would
  23. The second goal was abysmal, but you cant place any blame on him for the first. Its a 2 on 1 (thanks to Bednarek) and the striker takes it first time when played in
  24. We brought a decent one in
  25. Salisu can fuck off sharpish. Downed tools last season and clearly doesnt want to be here. If clubs are holding off until January to get him on a free then I doubt he'll be exerting much effort up until then. A few other mysterious 'injuries' will likely crop up
