  1. Another win for Wednesday under Danny Rohl. Three wins and a draw against Leicester in their last five. Impressive, especially considering how bad that Wednesday team were when we played them first game
  2. Cardiff was pretty impressive. It wasnt quite 1970 Brazil though which is the expectation for some on here
  3. I seem to recall words like realism being banded around two months ago when people were arguing that Russell Martin wasnt good enough a manager to even get us to the playoffs. How times have changed. Theres a mountain to climb but plenty of the season to go
  4. Averaging two points per game in the Championship has been more than enough to go up automatically in each of the last 9 seasons (and counting). We're just shy of that mark so what Leicester and Ipswich are doing is unbelievable. If they both sustain that and hit the 100 point mark then fair play. Theres a long way to go still and while today is disappointing, a point at Watford isnt the end of the world. Plus we've had our fair share of late winners
  5. Would be fantastic but I cant see either committing to a club that might still be in the EFL next year. Both could pick up PL moves in the summer if they keep their form
  6. We just need to worry about ourselves. This weekend WBA play Leicester and Leeds play Middlesboro, but it wont matter if we cant beat Cardiff. Similarly Ipswich start a run to mid Jan soon where they play Leicester (twice), Leeds, Middlesboro, Sunderland as well as away games vs Watford and Stoke. Our run of games during that time are much more favourable, but we need to get the points on the board
  7. Well he could have came out and praised the players for what was really a pish poor second half like some previous managers. He was brutally honest which is needed at times. Also I don't know many managers who openly admit to the media that what went wrong was their fault.....its all about self preservation in the cut throat world of football management
  8. Apart from the goal against City in the League Cup (super finish btw) and his cameo in the comeback draw against Leeds last season, he has shown very little. I'd be surprised if hes not loaned out (with an option to buy) to a Ligue 1 team in January. With Stewart back fit, AA playing well and Adams still an option, there is no space for him. We also have players in midfield chipping in with goals. Would rather we offered what limited minutes he would get to one of the kids
  9. I see that WBAs first game after the international break is home to Ipswich. Could do with them winning that. They're a decent side and will very likely be thereabouts for the playoffs
  10. About 40 pages of this thread would make for tragic reading. A bit of patience was always needed
  11. He would be a better option than Mara
  12. And the Rotherham draw was a freak result. Any other day it could have been 4-0 or 5-0
  13. What about that shitty Russball eh?
  14. Toothless. Super resilience in this team, something we havent seen for a few years
  15. Talking shit as usual CB. I was in the Nathan Jones in camp from the outset, like I am for every manager who is appointed to the club. The club has people to make them decisions and are more qualified than some plebs on a fan forum so they get my support. I like other fans are allowed to change our minds if performances get worse and his comments to the media also didnt help matters with the fans. Is the alternative to be like you and criticise every appointment we make, and when results dont go our way (like they do for every manager) you can shout loudest about how you were right. You must be raging that our form under RM has picked up the last 4-6 weeks. Whopper
  16. I cant think of any manager who would have been a good fit for us last season. The damage had long been done and we were doomed even when Ralph was still here. It was just a matter of time. Jones was still an absolute looney though. The job of a lifetime and he dug his own grave with his bizarre interviews and post match comments. He'll probably fit in well at the insane asylum that is Milwall
  17. Leicester and Ipswich have had ridiculous starts to the season. The automatic spots in the Championship at the end of the season usually average around 2 points per game. They're both well above that mark. Still think Leicester will be off in the distance but you'd imagine that Ipswich will falter at some point. We just need to be close to that 2 points per game mark once we get to the business end of the season
  18. Read some shite on here, but this might top the lot
  19. Great work from Aribo
  20. Whoever Swansea have on the wings, they're very likely having a better season than Sully. Great at knocking it past his man and getting to the byline, but his delivery and decision making is shit. Hasnt scored in a league that he probably thinks hes too good to play in and was central to that shambolic goal we conceded against Leicester from our own corner. For close to 25m, hes been incredibly disappointing. When you look at what Tella was doing before he left, Sully is nowhere near that at the moment
  21. Here here. A 95th minute winner and a 96th minute equaliser (involving our keeper) in the space of 4 days. Yes there will be supporters expecting us to roll teams over like its our god given right, but to me I'm just happy with the new surroundings, the new opposition and some positive results. Last season a positive result was not getting hammered. Barely watched a PL game this season and I havent missed it
  22. Charles suffered because he couldnt even give a 5 yard pass. He was terrible for NI last week when he got sent off also. You can criticise RM for lots of things, but having to rotate the side due to injuries/three games in a week is not one of them. Charles just needs to be better. Felt for Downes tonight having to do double the work
  23. Poor performance, but dug something out late on (again) to get a point and deny a fellow playoff contender the points. Positives At least theres some fight and resilience in the team which has been seriously lacking the last few years. Thought Downes and the two CBs did well. Yes Bednareks poor pass led to the 2nd goal but he made a good last ditch tackle to keep us alive. Holgate had a few shaky moments but put some good tackles in and looked a bit more assured on the ball. Leeds losing away to Stoke just shows how mad this league can be at times. Might look back in a few months a view this as a good point despite the piss performance. Negatives Based on that showing, Preston arent a great side, just more self inflicted mistakes and lack of concentration costing us. So many players off it tonight. Charles had a shocker, and the likes of Bree, AA, Adams, Edozie and Smallbone offered very little. Outside of Stu, the subs had no impact at all. If I dont see Mara in a saints shirt again then I'll be happy. Outside of a good finish against City last season, he has been woefully bad for us. Too much side to side nonsense with no creativity or penetration. All this talk of Stewart coming in, but he'll be feeding off scraps the way we're playing in the final third.
  24. Fuck sake just rejoice in the last minute equaliser lol
  25. Bree, Charles, Mara The three of them have been absolutely shocking
