I lived in Oz (just outside Sydney) for 3 years many years ago when my dad transferred from RN submarines to Oz submarines. Fantastic place - wish we'd never come back. My dad spent 27 years on subs & travelled the world - quite literally - during that time. Funnily enough - he's always said the most beautiful place he ever went to was NZ.

Hmmm. This thread is a reminder to me (once again) of why I don't - and never have - had a Facebook account!
-
Not this beauty - the new DS3 from Citroen. You won't find a bad review anywhere on the web - in any magazine - and even the three presenters at Top Gear sing its praises very highly - including Clarkson who wrote that "...this is the best of the small cars by a very, very long way." unquote.
-
That's may well have been true in the past - but not anymore. I purchased the new Ford Fiesta top-of-the-range Titanium back in January & the build quality is superb. The dashboard is infact 'rubberised' and the bonnet/panels are very sturdy. The car has boron steel all over it for safety - the hardest steel known to man. No it's not 'quite' an Audi or BMW - but it's an extremely well-made car inside & out - and the carpeting/upholstery fabrics used are second-to-none - not even the German marques. As for build quality - again - extremely good. But then again - it was build in Cologne, Germany!

lol. Absolute legend. Way to go Nigel. I knew my Euro vote last year wasn't going to waste!

lol. What did you want to see happen Alpine? A set of wheeled wooden gallows towed out onto the pitch & Suarez hanged in front of the 50,000 crowd? Beheaded? A firing squad perhaps? He cheated & handled the ball. Ghana's best player took the spot kick...and missed. Perhaps he should have been allowed to re-take it several times until he scored? And if a penalty's not a 'gilt-edged' chance in the world of football - I don't know what is!
-
The Uruguay player (Suarez) did the only thing he could do - handle it on the line and (rightfully) got sent off. Can't see the problem or the issue here. Ghana got their reward for the incident - a penalty - and right at the very death. The fact that they missed it is their hard luck. The gilt chance was there - but it wasn't taken. That's life (and football) ffs!

Well we've already beaten Germany on African soil once before (thanks to Monty) so I don't see why we can't do it again tbh...

I'm guessing it's here: http://www.burjkhalifa.ae/language/en-us/the-tower.aspx

Team as per TDD - but Replace Rooney with Defoe - 4-4-2 - and we'll be okay. Can't see Mr Sh1te Lampard being dropped alas - nor Rooney tbh - and only Don Fabio knows if Joe Cole will play...which surely he has to???

John Terry interview and team meeting this evening...

'kin hell Capello - it's not rocket science ffs. "I'm going to pick form players...". Yeah - course you are. "The first names on my team sheet are going to be players I dare not drop no matter how sh1t they're playing at the moment" more like. He's scared to death of dropping big-name charlie's for fear of the backlash. The team we need on wednesday is this: JAMES JOHNSON TERRY DAWSON A.COLE LENNON BARRY GERRARD J.COLE CROUCH DEFOE Drop the out-of-sorts Rooney for this game & the pizz-poor Lampard who's done nothing in 180 minutes of football so far. And if I see the names SWP or Heskey in the starting line up - I will fookin' SCREEEEEEAM!!!! -
Micra - good shout for your young daughter. Here's a nice one well within the budget: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230489246649&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D230489246649%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

You've got some good cars on that list mate. The Volvo is a very good car of course - as is the Octavia. I like the new Mondeo too - well built & quality materials with a very good engine. The Company car mans' choice though - of course! The C5 is extremely well made - good smooth engine - a big car - and the VTR+ has every toy you could wish for. It's the one on that list I'd opt for first - followed by the Octavia. I like the look of the Vauxhall Insignia but from what I've heard & read - it looks better than it drives & handles - which is a shame.
-
Colin - go for the best of that bunch - the Citroen C5 Tourer 1.6HDi 16V VTR+ 5d. Always best to get independent reviews of course - and here are 8 : http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/owners-reviews/review.aspx?review=6148&model=1689&rid=100592&fuel=&transmission=&body=

There are some things you just don't do with a $250,000 luxury sports car; for example, you do not attempt to plow through a farm road full of mud as if you were driving a John Deer tractor... http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2010/06/ouch-bentley-continental-gt-bogged-down.html

Always makes me laugh when people go on about the sinking of the Belgrano - how terrible it was - and the young sailors that lost their lives when she went down. What they fail to understand however is that the Belgrano was a big, heavily-gunned ship capable of causing a lot of damage. The Argentinian government was warned not to send their Navy anywhere near the Falklands & failed to listen. The 2 escorting destroyers with her soon fled back to port after her sinking & their Navy was never put to sea again for the rest of the conflict. True - she was outside the 200-mile exclusion zone when she was sunk - but that applies only to neutral vessels and not warships. It is sad that so many young sailors lost their lives - but that burden falls squarely on the shoulders of the Argentinian military. I wonder if anyone sympathising with the loss of those on the Belgrano ever spare a thought for those on the Sheffield, Coventry, Ardent or Antelope?
