There should be some sort of social media campaign, probably twitter.....get fans tweeting @SouthamptonFC with continual questions asking if we have sacked him yet. This. I've never really rated him anything more than a good player to have on the bench. His stats are shocking for the role he plays. Said it many times in this forum.

Look at the teams hes played for, look at the position he plays in, then look at his assist and goal stats. Redmond gets picked regularly as well.... The rest of your post, like mine, is just your opinion.

He's nearly 33 now... but remember...at 28 years old (arguably the prime of a footballers career) he signed, on a free, to a team that had just been promoted to the prem. Being free, you would have thought that teams would be queuing up to sign him, yet we managed to get him. And, it appears, that no one has tried to sign him since.

So why havent they tried? Look at his goals and assists stats, thats why.

The utter contempt VVD is showing the club and the fans is shocking. However, if the fans start making it difficult for him to be here and boo / give him abuse, that will play right into VVD hands....the club will feel they have to sell as A) He wants out and B) The fans want him out. He is probably one of the best players to ever play for us, and I still think you could play him in any position and he would probably be the best player at the club in that position, but we now need to make a f%cking example of him. Sell him (abroad NOT in the UK) and use the cash to sort our squad out, or let him rot for 5 years and get nothing for him - Id be happy with either outcome.

IMHO - If the Saints Trust was a proper entity, and not just some busted flush once used to get minor celebrity status for a few individuals, one of the things they should have been in was making sure the atmos at SMS was up there with the best. They could have organised "themed" days, arranged for song books to be printed, whipped up support in the local press ans on social media. An opportunity wasted.
