  1. Just after an opinion... I had a roofer come to my house yesterday. After initially quoting me £750 for some work to my roof he told me they'd found a few other issues up there and suggested some additional work... totalling £1500. After some thought, but telling him I didn't just have that kind of cash lying around, I decided to bite the bullet and just get the work done, as it know it was needed (I should add that I had previously had a similar quote from a couple of others who then messed me around / didn't turn up). I've since transferred some money from savings to make the payment, but because of the account it's in, it takes up to 2 working days to transfer. Since yesterday when then work was finished, I have already had a couple of calls from him, passive aggressively telling me that he expected the money same day. I fully appreciate that he has his own needs to meet, but in such situations I would usually expect to receive an invoice and request for payment within, say, 7 days? Am I being unreasonable bellend? Is he being unreasonable? He has incredibly generously told me he can wait til Monday, but I'm not convinced the money from my savings will have been transferred since then so just wondering where I stand when he no doubt turns up on my doorstep demanding it.
  2. Sorry folks, slight mis-calculation today.
  3. The Southampton equation: OS = AoT + 2 Where: OS is opposition score AoT is Added on Time
  4. Could we soon be allowed to drink booze in view of a football pitch at Mary's? Probably not. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cdd4vp1r3myo
  5. https://x.com/SouthamptonFC/status/1845722179469541805?t=YS_B_3VDyPXKubW3HxNJjQ&s=19 Anyone know the most recent scores for the various youth levels?
  6. 5-0. Even LOLier.
  7. 4-0 at Fratton. Lols.
  8. Brighton v Spurs is pretty good...
  9. The bestest strike again. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjd5r4x4vl4o
  10. Exactly. Gives her enough time to make a cuppa afterwards too.
  11. Think it was in the region of £12,000,000 when Shane Long signed. A long line of zeros there.
  12. That'd mean we have to watch Saints for longer though...
  13. Don't get too down, University Challenge is still on. McClelland is this week's fitty.
  14. 2-0 Saints. Time to pop our cherry.
  15. Who remembers everyone's favourite S4E/SWF poster, Calvin? He was a good egg.
  16. The Everton fans were very, very quiet even after they scored. I was expecting the whole ground to be a lot more toxic (even the Ashley Young sub didn't get them going for long), though listening to their fans around the ground afterwards, I think there was just a general sense of resignation of their demise. As Saints fans, I guess we've had that feeling in the past. Our fans were pretty rubbish too in all honesty. Difficult to get an atmosphere going with limited excitement on the pitch and lack of home atmosphere I guess. There weren't even that many renditions of OWTS, just the hilarity of "is this a library", "football in a library do do doo" and "we forgot that you were here" on timid repeat.
  17. What's he said? My take aways from tonight: - Happy with Macca as our cup keeper, despite occasional shaky moments. - Undecided on Cornet. Glimpses of promise, but some frustrating moments. - BBD. Meh. - Lallana. An old prick, but a classy prick. - Dibling - he's alright. - A weird Saints fan behind me spent most of the match arguing with a 12ish year old in the home end. Was a bit weird. - Even weirder (which is an achievement) was the Pompey fan who presumably paid for a ticket, only to get kicked out after about 15 mins. - I'm sure the Everton pitch isn't flat. Definitely got a bit of a camber.
  18. Anyone got any top tips on how to get back to town quicky after the match? Options as far as I can tell are 1) train from Kirkdale to Moorfields (will that be mega busy/impossible to get on?); 2) bus (no idea where from); 3) walk/flag a taxi
  19. Lemina (Mario Jnr?) just put Wolves ahead v Newcastle.
  20. Desperate to be just like us. Losing 3-0 at home on live TV to remain lingering in the relegation zone.
  21. Forgot that it's harder to play after being awarded a penalty. Bit like the opposition going down to 10 men. Ref's have definitely got it in for us this season.
  22. Utd sense blood. This'll be 3-0 before half time.
  23. Syntax error 🫠
  24. That's what you're concerned about? He has three book shelves, but only enough books to fill one of them. But you're concerned about his clothing? Get your priorities straight.
