The standard of refereeing goes up exponentially with every extra official.

Too highbrow.

ICYMI. Just bumping this superb joke from earlier in the thread.

Almost like we'd potentially have to play the Argies in the semis...

Even if my excellent idea was implemented, the whole idea of VAR is still, and always will be, shit.
-
VAR would work better if the 3 VAR officials all sat in seperate rooms with no communication with each other. They then have, say, 30 seconds from anything that happens on the pitch to press a button to overturn whatever the ref has (or hasn't) given on the pitch. Only if all 3 VAR officials are unanimous would anything happen. If only 2 (1, or none) of them think something should be overturned then it's presumably not "clear and obvious".

See Donald Trump talking about scum today. Even asked journalists if they know what scum means. Luckily Factless Allen wasn't around to tell him it's an acronym.

The people of Clacton have an opportunity to create an election result for the ages. If none of the other "big" parties stand, I actually think he'd have a good opportunity to win it.

Not enough heritage, FFS.

What a load of waffle.

You do realise that the bullshit "story" behind every shirt release is just a last minute afterthought for marketing purposes, right? I haven't seen the leaked image, but assume it's just red and white stripes. Which is going to be sold as "out heritage".

Personally I'm struggling to see anything happening other than a Morocco v Switzerland final.
-
Hopefully that result really puts the American public appetite off football for a while so we don't have to put up with so much nonsense to appease them.

Thank fuck it's not going to extra time.

Hilarious how shit Ronaldo is these days. Mad that he still gets selected for international duty.

What does 'woke' mean in this context?
-
Not really. Think we've played something like 17 knock out matches in world cups since we won it in 66. Obviously a good chunk of them have been losses where we've been knocked out. The majority of the others have been relatively routine last 16 matches that we probably expected to win. Don't think it's that much of a stretch to say that this is one of the best amongst the remaining handful that we've actually won.

Broke his wrist falling over a coca-cola advert. Now that's what I call a hydration break. Boom boom!

Haaland?

He's a cyborg of some sort, surely? Is that robot that delivered the match ball at half time his twin?

Assumed this screenshot was fake news when I first saw it. Bloody hell...
