It's reasonable to think so isn't it? After all he was brought on as a sub for Lambert, as the central striker, quite a few times before his injury. It's a bit worrying that he isn't even mentioned as a striking option in that Echo article. He ought to be pushing for a regular place on the bench at least next season if he is fully recovered.
-
That's what the Sunday times article says.
-
Toby ...can't edit since my sub didn't go through yet again.
-
He only looked good because he was playing next to Fonte? And/or behind our midfield? Just another Lovren? The sunday times article is worrying. Says Paul Mitchell was much involved in recruiting him to us, and now in getting him to spurs, and worst of all claims that Tony himself says spurs are likely to sign him.

Fixtures out tomorrow - who will we get first game?

Thanks very much. **** easy for iPad , but loading it onto my blackberry defeated me .... And the two only sync *from* blackberry to iPad, not the other way round. I really miss carrier pigeons -
Fixtures out tomorrow - who will we get first game?

Please someone help out an old git who still thinks even television is a bit modern. Last year I clocked in some whizzy link and it automatically put the fixtures into my electronic diaryon my phone. I've no idea where I got that from! Does anyone know where/when/if I can do the same this year? -
Thanks. Tough decision. I resent being forced to pay for something they led us into for free, and couldn't give give a bugger about the champions league. --- but do want to watch our games!
-
Has anyone got the details on this? At the moment I get BT sport 'free' as part of my BT internet package. But now they're saying I will need to pay £5 a month to get Champions league and Europa league, or opt out to "BT sport lite" . Ordinarily I'd say stuff it, but sod's law, here we are with Saints in the Europa league. Is there any detail that says they will show all our games?
-
Only just realised ... Second half u-20 vs Mexico. Live now on BT sport 1 if anyone's interested.

I wasn't actually being serious !

I've only seen Seager on line/TV , and you can get a false impression if you don't see the whole pitch during a game, but he looks to me very much a goal scorer .... bit like a Billy Sharp sort of player. Not that this means he won't be worth a place in a premier league team soon. Gallagher, however, looks a more all round player ... A target man , who can score and who has a fair bit of pace too. So personally I see him making it sooner.

Though of course the really important games are Stoke v Liverpool and Everton v Spurs !

Thanks. In another game that could really have mattered. -

Anyone who was watching on line see if Pellé's first "goal" really was offside? Didn't look it to us over in the kingsland. -
Quite. So really it will come down to ...... does he love it enough to stay with us if a really big team want him, and will pay him a lot more?
-
Why not give Gallagher a few mins? Nothing to lose and time to give him some build up for next season.
-
c75% possession and only 1 shot on target
-
I've nothing against either Gardos or Yoshida individually, but I can't see why it is sensible to have 2 centre backs on the bench, especially with Targett so that we could rearrange in extreme emergency with Bertrand as a CB. Personally I'd rather see another young attacker ..... delighted to see Gallagher there though. Otherwise, and with every extremity crossed over Gazzaniga, it looks the best side available.

TV GAME: Aston Villa (H) moved - now on BT Sport
Ken Tone replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Bugger! Another day's arragemnents ruined. The TV companies really ought to be made to choose their fixtures all at the start of the season , so we fans could organise holidays, trips etc, without the risk of games being changed at only a few weeks notice. The fan who actually goes to games always comes last in the pecking order. -
Surely it will (as nearly always) come down to wages. If we pay Toby enough, he'll stay with us. Transfer fee fee is not such a big deal . In effect we have a £1.5million discount agreed with Athletics Madrid. If Spurs offer them £10 million, £1.5 mil of that will come to us. There is nothing to stop us agreeing to forget the loan deal, and pay a fee of say £9million to Madrid. They'd keep all of that and be 1/2 a mill in better of than from selling to Spurs
-
And again!
-
Tadic has looked better today ..... Because he' s playing on the left for once.
-
Not a very convincing pen was it?

Interesting news. In the past a young Saints player going out on loan was a sign he had no great future at his home club. We have tended to blood our own promising young players and bring them through the ranks here, not send them out. But this implies that we still see Turnbull making it in our first team ...... quite a change of approach.
