That's not cool! I'm sure Mayler had no idea what was happening but still!

Admitted I got that wrong whilst supporting Saints!
Colinjb replied to Nadia Sllim's topic in The Saints
Oh, where to start. 1) Lallana is far too lightweight to succeed in the top flight. 2) Kelvin Davis will be good enough for the top flight. 3) No more Rupert Lowe, he's gone forever! (Circa Michael Wilde's time in charge, Aug 2006.) 4) Callum Davenport is a superb signing. 5) The Poortvliet experiment will see us fine. 6) Ryan Smith will come good. And many more! -
I doubt he would need to go to France, just to a club that's more recognised. One of the next big hurdles for us would be to have our better performers recognised by their countries. It will show well for our standing if Schneiderlin and Fonte received call ups. As yet though, no dice. That Osvaldo continues to be selected to Italy after joining us is an excellent sign, hopefully Morgan's time is imminent. If not, then hopefully his head will not be turned.

I'll ask dad to have a look in the programme for reader submitted pieces on All Saints day. What name would your contribution be under?
-
The programme shop on Northam road? Open before the games?
-
FIFA intervened directly and granted an exception based on Costa taking on full Spanish nationality. All this goes to show is that it doesn't matter what the rules are seen to be, there is always a little 'wiggle' room. Probably meaningless in this case though as I cannot see Morgan wanting to play for 'Les Rosbifs!'

Are France considered a home nation under this?
-
I believe they do, there was a fair amount of comment over Owen Hargreaves commiting to England after his debut in a friendly v Holland, this was considered a 'full international.'
-
His case is truly bizarre, a Brazilian born player, capped twice for his nation's senior side and now eligible to play for Spain instead. In exceptional circumstances FIFA will allow you to switch country.
-
I'm pretty sure that only full senior call ups lock the player in to that nation. Kevin Prince Boateng as an example plays for Ghana but represented Germany at u21 level. Either way, I wouldn't expect Morgan to in any way consider an England call up.

"An uncanny resemblance to Roberto Baggio" and other player comparisons.

Neither have so many other players of the type! I would say that comparisons with Adam's close control ability are understandable though, particularly in terms of his balance, poise, quick feet and agility. -
Not Osvaldo, according to Garth Crooks it's Adam Lallana http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24892583 Enough plaudits have been given to Adam in the last day or so, he deserves a chance against either Chile or Germany. In seriousness (or otherwise....) do any of our current squad remind you of the playing styles of anyone else equally well regarded? Comparisons between Ward-Prowse and Scholes spring to mind.

As of this moment in time, we are, we actually are. Being just one victory away from topping the table means that we are! Can we sustain it? Unlikely. Will we win the league? Highly unlikely. Top 4? Still rather unlikely.... But here we are right now, totally in the thick of it. If we emerge from our next four fixtures with credit I will start to get a little giddy.

F**k me. Man Utd 1-0 Arsenal
-
Sickness bug has swept through the Arsenal dressing room!! #itshappening!!!!

We are Southampton, we're third in the league.

It's not going to be enough!

10 minutes for the Mackems to stand firm. Even if they concede one it's ok.
-
Anyone else nervous about the wheels falling off?

That video is inspired! -
Well, that could be on! Mackems 1-0 Citeh

Fingers crossed now for Sunderland and that we stay in the top 3. We want to avoid those pesky Champions League playoffs now don't we.
-
Really? Damn. Would have loved to see him score one in the top flight. Seems that Stoke miss may have been his literal parting shot for that ambition! Some great memories with Guly as we rose through the leagues. That third goal at the Ricoh Arena to ensure bragging rights over my neighbours will always be a favourite, screamed myself hoarse in the away end. Edit: Reading the BBC match preview, they say until the end of 2013.... so that is two months. Not the season. There is still time for Guly!

Gentlemen's agreement between the clubs, nice. Hope this hasn't screwed up too many people's travel arrangements.
