How come no midweek MOTD? In the slightly cooler light of day, 4 games unbeaten, two clean sheets, nearly 3 wins on the trot, our best run this season? All the players fitter (bar Charlie bless him) and energised and up for it, qualities coming to the fore at last. Alex has been a revelation, why can't Fraser learn from him?? My MOTM was PEH simply because he got booked early on then had to be very disciplined thereafter. And as for the pitch, a disgrace to the Premier League. And, If only one or two of those shots we had on goal against them in the home game had gone in! Not the only one who didnt sleep well last night, so hyped up!
-
Hopefully we won't have to worry if Conte and Wenger live up to their words. No Calamity Yoshida please, hope Jan has recovered from his Alex left hook! My God Austin looks knackered won't last 45
-
Don't be blinded by the awful cautious tactics of the previous two managers; I think had w e gone for it a lot more often we would have seen a few more wins and a few more defeats maybe but a lot less draws and definitely a lot more entertainment and enjoyment

Just boot it into touch!!!!!!!!!! Need a Public Inquiry

How bad are both these linesmen??!!! dreadful and or blind ffs
-
I was working in Istanbul at the time and on that day went to watch Fenerbahce and got lots of funny looks wearing a saints shirt and constantly on my Blackberry updating the latest score!
-
I would like to see him paired with Jack Stephens next season as I still think Hoedt and Yoshida are both liabilities, playing 442 or 433

can't believe it has taken so long to have a thread on the best day ever for SFC - they should have held the Legends day at the shop today in memory of Bobby (who by the way should be on the top banner not Shilton 216 games v 188 and Jose played 260!!)
-
I still can't get my head round the fact that the last two away games are live on TV! Talk about prolonging the agony…..
-
I think at last our luck is turning and we are due to meet a team having just a little off day….and there is no telling how much the win will help attitude and confidence, for us I mean of course!
-
Dont… that hurts this morning to see it all again; we have not been the same since Puel mucked up Fonte and then we sold him, no leader or organisation at the back.
-
Still got us staying up on GD on 36 points; Sh*t or bust tomorrow though, simple. Please for once, just once this awful year/season play 3 up front
-
He should still be given a chance to pair up with Austin! He started off ok and was positive; and he might have been on the end of those two crosses in the early part of the first half against Chelsea at home. I just don't understand the vitriol against him on here or the fact he is the obvious choice as a forward up front?

(If we go down) what will you miss about the Premierleague?
fanimal replied to Wiggles31's topic in The Saints
If you don't miss anything then why the hell was it the mantra to get promoted and celebrate like mad when we did? Or is just the target itself that motivates the players and the team, the club and the supporters? The football itself is so much better to watch, do not forget that. When we went down we got a big shock last time remember the first away game at Luton? (and we still got Theo on the bench…..) 2-0 up thought it was going to be easy well it sure is not -
Sorry, but Shane needs a rest before Wembley for us to have any chance there, so…..go 442 with Carillo and Austin up front and go for a win.

Without doubt, Brighton are on a very slippery slope, no more points a real hope; We could win 4 of the last 5 if we play like 70 minutes of yesterday, and then get a fair referee and a slice of luck, which we are well overdue. But and its a big but we have to cut out the ball watching and two men going for the same ball, a few seconds of that undone us yesterday, PEH didn't look at Hazard and Romeu challenged Yoshida before Giroud slotted home. Don't get me started on Mike Dean though! I still think Swansea away will be the decisive game however.
-
Well the next 8 days enshrines the whole season; we could be 6 points better off and in a Cup Final or still on 28 all over bar the crying and a demoralising national humiliation at Wembley to dwell on before Bournemouth come up to deliver the coup de grace. So depressing not getting excited about it at all, its the hope that kills….
-
Thats why if we then lose to Leicester(aka the week from hell) when we play Bournemouth they could relegate us. Its so possible its both scary and depressing
-
So Arsenal cheating repeatedly at the end and then pushing Cedric in the face gets rewarded with a let off and Saints going forward then doing the same as McGuire gets a 3 match ban???WTF????
-
The sound bites coming out of Chelski seem to be that they will finish outside the Top 4 now so will be more up for the FAC semi final as a route to silverware. A glimmer of hope for us? What bothers me and no doubt 99.9% of us is that we can do well then let in two soft goals against the top teams who have the players to do nothing much all game then produce a few seconds of real class. We just have to be clinical with our finishing. Try Carillo with Ausin at least once.
-
I went to the 6-1 game; hate that stadium. Only question is, at what point in the game do we say game over? 30 minutes? half-time?
-
Just can't see West Ham losing at home twice on the trot, just think it will be yet another draw. more important are Palace and Huddersfield losing.
-
Two regular noisy Northam STH will be watching from a bar in warm sunny Spain hopefully, with a win win situation; lose, and well not wasted any money time and effort and had to put up with Chelsea fans twice in a week, win and hey ho can go to Wembley for a Final!

What Is The Most Amazing Place In The World That You Have Been Too
fanimal replied to Gemmel's topic in The Lounge
Been to every continent bar South Pole; lived in istanbul which was amazing. but Xian and the Terracotta Warriors is incredible. -
The system depends on how mobile and intelligent your two strikers are, and the ability to hold the ball up - we were blessed with SRL and Pelle, with the two scousers buzzing around them respectively. Toshack and keegan? And then you need four very busy midfielders; we only had two yesterday in Lemina and PEH. As has been said Tadic and Boufal together do not work full stop, and I think Hughes saw that yesterday. So 2 up front does work dare I say Redmond and JWP away from home, Tadic is a warm weather flat track bully best on the left.
