  1. Even whispering Dave has to lower his dulcet tones to avoid waking anybody up!!
  2. Nope ... and not likely to even feature on any dodgy streams. Round of CL fixtures on that night. Another night with Adam Blackmore and Merry Davidton on Solent I guess as per previous round.
  3. Ummm .... well we did get drawn against Prem teams for every round 2 years ago and ended up at Wembley!!
  4. More in hope .... going for The Wolves Bubble bursting .... 2-0 to us. In reality, an early Wolves goal and I can see us crumbling to a 3-0 defeat But a gritty 0-0 is also on the cards. None of this sitting on the fence fannying around from me .... I tell it as I see it
  5. My money is on your hairdresser:rolleyes:
  6. When is the draw for the next round being made ...... or has it already been done at 4am in China and we all missed it
  7. Taxi Drivers, hotel bellboys, airport workers and hair dressers all placed in a state of high alert
  8. Just about agree with everything in this post .... barring paying money to boost their economy as a tourist I was amazed Lemina wasn't subbed at HT (and I'm a big fan of his). really thought this might his chance for a "come and get me" type worldie performance, but completely the opposite, nobody in their right mind would touch him with a bargepole based on this match. Losing possession way too easily on halfway line and making no attempt to chase back tomake up for it a few times, using his energy instead to shake his head as if it was everybody else's fault. Can we please have the Lemina who turned up when he 1st arrived please. What exactly was the purpose of Targett in the team - did he touch the ball in the 1st half? Armstrong would have, (and did eventually) offer more. I think it's been touched on elsewhere, but Vestergaard doesn't seem to like the Zonal Marking system ... and neither do I. Let the biggest man on the pitch go where the ball goes (or where his man goes). Certainly came of 2nd best against Saleh in ground and pace duels that's for sure .... as did everybody else. Surely Yoshida's pace and reading of the game (most of the time!!) would have been a good asset, maybe instead of the extra in midfiled a back five. The away support was in comparison to many games was pretty quiet, lets face it they had abasolute zilch to enthuse over but boy oh boy .... who did near on 50000 home fans maintain an unstilting wall of silence for so much of the game? Absolute shocking atmosphere. Sponsored silence for whatever victim cause they are party to this week? It was good to see the away support not turn on the team and give completely isolated Long an appreciation of his efforts when subbed, and nobody venting their spleen when some of the players came over at the end (led by Long) to show their appreciation, and present a few fans with their shirts. End of the day we were beaten, as expected by a very good team, albeit never needing to get out of first gear. However I pine for the days, when we'd at least give the big boys a bloody nose rather than lie down and have our tummy's tickled and not conceding in the 2nd half being something of an acheivement. I thought Hughsie would have had them stoked up for this one, but sadly not.
  9. Hopefully Sun 2nd is just a typo, and you actually mean the 7th otherwise you are in for a wasted journey, it would have been better to have gone up to Everton if you wanted to see The Saints play. But if the main reason was to get a Sunday Lunch, Tues is not the best day to be honest!! Game kicks off at 2.15 ... could be a bit of a rush to have a decent meal and get to the game for KO. Good luck with finding a pub that satisfies 2 out of 3 of your requirements.
  10. I would have thought not unless a clause was written into the deal, as contrary to what most of us thought, the deal is a loan to buy - no option of opting out ... which is kind of saying he is ours isn't it? Probably just wishful thinking on my part though.
  11. More proof that the footballing authorities have got it in for us, alongside The FA, Referees, Sky and the all the rest!
  12. And we've got at least 2 songs for Gabbi. Oooohhhhhh Gabbiaaaaaadiniiiiiii ..... Oooooohhhhhhhhhh Gabbiaaaadiniiiiiii for those who can't remember more than 1 line of a song, or The Les Reed went to Rome ditty. Is there a Guiness Book of Records entry for how many times we've sung OWTS in a single game? I definitely think the Ings / Gabbi combo should be given a go, especially at home. 2 players making decent runs will drag defences all over and create spaces for midfielders to expose. Long is probably our best option (after Ings) for away games as a long ball outlet when we are under the cosh and for his (yeah I know) running for lost causes putting pressure on defences. For all of his lack of pace Austin has that certain nous that he uses to draw fouls rather than keep the ball or make a killer pass, and up till Palace I'd have said at least can score a penalty if we get one!! Seeing him more as a throwing the kitchen sink at it option substitute if chasing a game.
  13. Just as well Benteke hadn't seen that before we played Palace!! Would have needed a Pele v Banks quality save to keep it out!!
  14. The sheer relief when we scored the 2nd was brilliant. I was fearing the worst when the board came up for 6 feckin minutes, after the battering my nerves had already taken in the previous 20 mins!! How on earth did we get away with that keystone cops goal mouth scramble? Roll on Brighton in just over two weeks.
  15. 0-0 nailed on with that one I reckon. Looking down the fixture list there are some pretty dire fixtures today with only possibly Chelsea v Bomo attractive to watch, if Bomo decide to give it a go. Hopefully Wolves will add to to WHU's woes and keep us away from bottom spot and Puell keeps up his stopping Liverpool score record!! Under pressure Moanrinhio to park the bus for a 0-0 draw at Burnley too. Best league in the world though.
  16. Sounded like he was totally isolated up front but still managed to force the keeper onto a couple of saves. Disappointed that Armstrong was played wide rather than just behind Gabbi for support. Davis was sitting back deeper to be of any help to Gabbi. With their combined instinctive runs, Gabbi and Ings would be a good combination , IF anybody in midfield delivers the ball quick enough.
  17. Catching anything is difficult for him
  18. Does anybody know if the Twitter from Radio Solent saying Commentary only avbl on old school Radios and not digital transmissions will mean nothing on OS as well? This evening is getting cappier by the minute ... reduced to BBC Txt Updates. WALOB Could be chaotic if any VAR decisions come into play F5 ing like a maniac. Don't even want to think about penalty shoot out FFS
  19. I think (but I may well be wrong) that 2 Yellows don't count the same as a "Straight Red". The decision to make Reds non competion specific is a sensible decision ... it would take a Pompey player 3 seasons to see out a ban for violent conduct in a Cup Match as they never get past the 1st Round
  20. Well, if Franny Benali can score against Leicester ... maybe even Shane Long can
  21. Ha Ha ...Good Points and well presented .... you are exonerated!! That Biley miss and Moran's goal a few minutes later ... Scummahs scummahs here we come .... or maybe not
  22. Turkish at The Turnstiles pre match
  23. Nick .......you've just been rumbled!! Your last msg was sent at 6.57 and you even know the names of ex players (Alan Biley) YSB !!
  24. Glad nobody told SRL
  25. Calm down ..... Mack is a very rare breed of skate with a sense of humour!! Also his 'old lady' is probably his Wife (and/or Sister etc) not mother ... so it is acceptable!! I thought he may have been talking about Fortress Fatpipes aka The Old Girl at first.....but the cracks in the floors/ ceilings / stands etc are probaly getting bigger
