I wish his brain would work a bit faster. He has looked much better this season, and doesn't constantly break up attacking moves, by passing back to the halfway line (probably what he was told to told by the previous 2 clowns). There are still times though when he gets the ball to feet near the box .... and just stops, rather than going for the jugular .... and then does a floaty chip or very casual telegraphed pass which are easily defended. looks like he has been given licence to roam as well, so we are not stuck with the constant cut inside to his right foot all the time .... but I guess this doesn't help the cover for which ever defender he is supporting!!

Put our CBs in the order you think they belong.

The fact that Burnley, even with their style of play barely won a header in our box, yet a week later minus Vestergaard, Everton won about 6 in the 1st 30 minutes, tells me that we need to keep him fit at all costs!! At least he missed out on getting the mandatory booking just for wearing a Red and White shirt by Mason!! He also seems to be the leader/organiser figure we need, and I just loved the old school, crazy, nothing will get past me, warrior look with totally dishevelled hair and bloodied face. Chuck him another raw steak!! Our other organiser (just forgets to organise his own positioning at times though!!) and leader in defence, and who has pace and experience as well, Yoshida, is getting better each week, by not playing and thus not being associated with a poor performance, the latter could be said of Bednerak as well. I suppose it is dependent on formation played and horses for courses on opposition, which was why it seemed strange Maya didn't get a start against a more pacy and movement team on Saturday. I would like to see Bertrand earning his Captain's Band and be constantly on their case and shaping up and tracking players better and Cedric to actually do anything at all, to help out the CB's. -
It's his actually Femininity, or rather his ability to act like a complete and utter part of the feminine anatomy to get his transfer that gets my goat.

Yep ... that drill was quite painful to watch!! The keepers barely had to make any saves, the shooting accuracy was very poor and powderpuff from unmarked positions!! Get your money on Vestergaard to be in our top 3 goal scoreres!!

Waiting for Asian MP's to start going on about how we have corrupted their national dishes next!!

Cardiff play the Warnock way. DIRECT. They make Tony Pulis look like a football purist!! Hope they get the least ever amount of points in The EPL. Amazing Stats from last season........ http://www2.squawka.com/football-team-rankings#possession-&-passing#team-stats#english-football-league---championship|season-2017/2018#0#90#any#any#season#1#all-matches#total 3rd Lowest Possession Average 47% .... ball always in the air and then possession lost every 1 in 3 passes attempted. Least amount of successful passes (7010) made and lowest % (61) of successful passes completed!!!! Over 800 less successful than the next lowest and 11000 less than Fulham. 2nd Highest average distance per pass made 22 metres If the League Table was based on "Passing related Stats" they'd have finished bottom of The League. You have to pity their fans having to watch them week in week out ..... somehow it worked in The Chumpionship, but it MUST fail in The EPL .... except Liverpool

Couldn't see who The Skates are playing .... did they get a bye and join in with all the other top teams next round?
-
TV Game possibly? Not much in the way of David and Goliath shocks except Wombles v WHU leap out at you.

16th or is it 17th place surely?

I wonder if there is a theme with our fans reactions to Hughes post match reactions? New Thread anybody?!!
-
As stated above ... WBA away, BUT we haven't won an opening day HOME fixture since 1989, which was pre Prem, so lets put that one to bed.
-
I was at The Coventry game ..... our only opening day win between 1989 and 2012 inclusive..... 1 win in 24 seasons!! One season we were top of the league on opening day winning 2-0 at HT at Derby but managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory ..... our we are top of the league and we're gonna win the league songs were replaced by 2-0 and you effed it up taunts from the Derby Fans. As MLG says all the previous seasons are irrelevent to our game on Sunday but excluding the Leeds match our previous home win on opening day was in 1989 versus WHU playing in Claret and Blue and a certain Paul Ridout weighing in with 2 goals on his debut on his return "home' having previously played for Southampton Schoolboys 4-0 to us is destined to be the score and Ings getting 2. Get down to Ladbrokes now!!

Yes ..... The plain red looks absolute pony.
-
I thought he was quite good 1st 20 mins but then seemed to be pulling out of tackles and losing possession too easily. The midfield in general did not play as a unit.
-
Yes ... The Transit Van. Probably apt as he is likely to be in Transit with us for say 2 seasons before moving on to a Champs League Club

Sorry to be a bore .... but any news on The Topic at Hand here????? Another Sizzling Fantastic Friday Announcement or just put back onto the back burner and forgotten about #anotheronethatgotaway or maybe #neverreallywasastarter ?

Obviously got too much time on my hands today, and this is really yanking my chain, so I decided to have a look at how much the FA Cup mid week change would have helped England this season. 2017/18 FA Cup 5th Round Draw for weekend mid Feb which will now be played mid week. 1 Sheffield Wednesday v Swansea City 2 West Bromwich Albion v Southampton 3 Chelsea v Hull City 4 Leicester City v Sheffield United 5 Huddersfield Town v Manchester United 6 Rochdale v Tottenham Hotspur 7 Brighton and Hove Albion v Coventry City 8 Wigan Athletic v Manchester City 6 out of 8 games ..... 3/4's of those games involve a Prem Team who would have had the benefit of a weekend break against a non prem team with less player resources, more fixtures and not being jetted across the country for an away fixture etc etc. The other 2 games included us, WBA and Huddersfield .... an absolute treasure trove of current England International players ..... NOT. Add Leicester,Brighton and Swansea to te list and who are we left with ....... Of course the elite who this change is meant for Man U, Man City, Chelsea and Spurs to be able to continue their quest for more revenue in money spinning European Cup Games. How many of us would have bothered going to WBA on a cold wet and windy Tuesday Night, compared to The weekend Sell Out? Where would Rochdale be without their Cup Windfall replay at Wembley and imagine how good despite the result the players and fans felt at seeing their team at Wembley .... The Magic of The Cup over the filthy lure of more money for the elite?
-
Yep .... those same greedy gits who demanded more lucrative CL and even Europa (?) Qualifying Group Stages instead of straight forward knockout games .... and then complained about fixture congestion in the League and domestic cup competitions. As for the no Cup Replays from the 5th Round onwards is just another step in ruining what was once regarded as the best Cup Competition in The World, and only benefits teams with European games. Imagine how much a good cup run means to smaller teams, and the prospect of taking Man U etc to a replay away could be the difference between survival and bankruptcy. The whole thing stinks. And don't get me started on how it will benefit The England Set Up .... The useless blank weekends for meaningless friendlies have already put that theory to bed, not to mention that it will benefit all the other National Teams who have players in The Prem and aren't used to the rigours of our season even more. And were Lollana and Van **** were still club captains when they were agitating for moves. Lollana said it was after we'd played them in Feb(?) earlier that year that he knew that's where he wanted to be, and was seen signing LFC shirts at World Cup before talks had "officially" started. Illegal approach to Van **** is well documented, but remember how Reed was confident that Clyne would be signing an extension ... he obviously didn't know how much had probably been going on behind the scenes without SFC's consent given their track record. Mane, I can forgive after the rough ride he was given in his 1st year with us. Lolvren with his head is already there crap ... had we given him permission to talk to them beforehand ... probably not. No pity, no respect. End of.

Wow ..... none of you c()ckwombles would make a Football Commentator ..... sorry if I missed any, but 36 Replies in and not one person has rolled out the term "Dead Ball Specialist" which EVERY commentator uses, as if it is his Middle Name ... Up steps James Dead Ball Specialist Ward Prowse.

Who would want to pay that much to watch what is just a training and fitness exercise for the players (and a w!lly swinging exercise for Gao). Save yourself shed loads of dosh and sit in a tree outside Staplewood when they get back., and you'll also be able to watch the world cup matches if you so choose at home or down the local!!

The Captain should have put the seatbelt signs on and threatened to land in some god forsaken ex eastern bloc sh!thole and have the lot of them arrested if they didn't sit down. Idiots the bloody lot of them.

How do you keep thousands of fools in suspense? Delay making any announcements on the managerial situation at St Mary's? #topical
