The thing that irks me is that Koeman talks about the clubs ambition and not selling players this season to prove it yet is the first out the door. He knows the damage this will do to our selling club reputation that we were trying to lose with the signings of new contracts for FF VVD etc Seeing out his contract then moving on would not have been the same. In it for one person and one person only. IMO he (if he goes) probably is worse that MP Lovren etc who never pretended to be anything other than in it for the money. . He wrote an article saying he had taken these players as far as he could, so perhaps it is best for all that he goes and let's someone who can see the obvious gaps we need filling in the squad and actually believes we can push on. IMO the right manager could do something really good with the squad. Shame though two wins at Old Trafford etc he would have got a great reception if he left with some honour but has chosen to be another pantomime villian..I am sure he isn't bothered though, we were always just a job to him...however he has always love Scousers 2 and has always wanted to be their manager and all his dreams have come true so it's different being their manager!

De Boer would be good. Great record at Ajax..

C Always a gamble changing manager but clearly not here for long anyway (2 more years max). We have a good squad some excellent players so he next manager is a lucky person..use the extra money from Option A to give the new guy a boost in the transfer market or an existing player or two a rise! -
What exactly was his question? That post was just coming on here to gloat..there was no question he wanted an answer to?
-
Why come on here gloating **** off...

I reckon he would get as much if not more. A lot of us thought that he is honourable and probably would not sign a new deal but would see out his current contract. I, for one, perceived it that way and was resigned to him moving on next summer after a crack at Europe with us. To move to a club for purely money part way through his contract is just as bad as poch. If it was to a big club I could understand but Everton? It is 100 % for the money and would show his true colours. If true I hope he signs a 5 year deal and misses out on a proper big club, the Arsenal job as a result!

Changing manager last summer when they were the form team from the previous jan to May didn't hurt Leicester.

Nah, don't need planning permission..just whack it up using the Irish lads from the estate for cash then let the council spends years challenging whether they had permission to do it!

According to Deliotte our revenue is slightly lower than yours...but only around 16 million euros less..so far from being a sleeping giant, like it or not, you are just another also ran hundreds and hundreds of millions of Euros worth of revenue behind the big boys!

In the words of Simeone: "What is clear to me is that nobody remembers the losers"
-
It would be interesting to know how accurate that is? If it is then it would probably mean over estimation of a lot of players at the big clubs..look at Vermaelen 55k? Everyone assume anyone at Arsenal would be on considerably more..

Chelsea and Man City only became big clubs due to the investment (over 1 billion pounds each) but look how their revenue grew once having superstars playing for them and winning trophies started. The money coming from abroad comes from people who want to support the successful teams with internationally known superstars. I personally can't see a world where that would be us.

Not without a Man City or Chelsea style 1 billion investment.

'Brendan Rogers' Is he a hypocrite?
Saint-Fred replied to Saint Without a Halo's topic in The Saints
i hope he bumps into Owen after saying it's not a step down..obviously Celtic are now up there with the big three..barce madrid and Liverpool. He is a hypocrite anyway..talking about How Spurs should win the league after spending 100 million when he could only finish 7th or something after spending the Suarez money. A walking sound bite and the documentary summed hm up..David Brent mark 2. -
Player/Coach replacing RK? He would come a legend and leave a (* delete as applicable) *with all our money in a suitcase/ a broken team of ageing superstars in the championship/with Southampton as European champions and the city rivalling Madrid for weather and culture.

I have just read this.

They did it with Zaha? Not saying it's likely but it's not something they'd lose a minutes sleep over.

Premiership stadiums getting bigger, hope we don't get left behind

How many members have we got? Anybody know? -
Its rare you get the chance to give a final thanks to players after they have left. They normally move on in the summer and you never know at the time that they are playing the last game for your club. I am really looking forward to a proper celebration of some players and a manager who really gave me some great memories..obviously including SKD. I wouldn't miss it for the world! Oh and to have MLT have the kit on again for a pen shoot out against Rickie is the icing on the cake!

Thanks guys..missed Deano's announcement..

Anyone know if Dean Hammond confirmed either way?

Excellent news and well done to the club.tying players down, I assume, on decent pay rises. Hopefully this is the new direction..paying decent money for our decent players and losing the selling/stepping stone label. Still think there is more benefit letting Wanyama run down his contract than selling him cheap this summer.

I am not sure if it's mental or physical. The downside of the pressing game surely has to be the physical effort and therefore likely to involve the risk of running out of steam in a game. I think I read somewhere Liverpool are up there too for points thrown away and they play the same pressing type of game?

Guly confirmed as not attending.

I agree with this. Other clubs keep players as they pay them enough so that it's difficult for even big clubs to justify the transfer. West Ham didn't keep Payet on his original wages long once they knew his quality. Spurs have given MP a pay rise well before his contract runs down. We SEEM to wait for contracts to run down before considering a new one. If we are going to lose this tag of being "easy pickings" IMO we need to change the way we operate our wage structure. But do I trust the board? Yes.
