  1. There's another club about 15 miles away from his home who are after a manager. I don't think WGS would be too put off by most of their fans viewing him sceptically due to his association with us.
  2. Completely agree. Tony Husband on South Today (who is normally ITK) was tonight hinting at a continental set-up with a director of football. I would be expecting a foreign manager as English managers aren't normally too keen on that. FWIW I would love Strachan but really can't see it. I suspect he'll end up at Fratton if he's living in Hants.
  3. I'm really hoping that Wright-Phillips doesn't stay. The fact we will be playing at a lower level does not change the fact that his touch is appalling.
  4. Would love to agree, but I think it's too big an ask. Even if we weren't starting on -10, it's going to be a tough League and the squad really needs an overhaul. Wotte has started well by looking at Murty from Reading, we need at least another half-a-dozen or so experienced players to make us competitive. I'm far from convinced about Wotte, the next few weeks will be very interesting in terms of which players he tries to sign. He really doesn't need to spend much at all, there's a lot of good experienced players in the lower Leagues who are not expensive. I'd rather put a bet on none of Saints, Charlton or Norwich going back up. Leeds and MK Dons are sound bets for being first and second, they've had a few seasons in League 1 and know what's required.
  5. Burley's management WAS a total failure. We were 15 minutes from relegation with the legacy he left, scandalous given the money he spent.
  6. It's quite simple. Just get 8 or 9 players in who have decent experience in League 1 or League 2 and aren't ponces who will go missing on an icy pitch in February. It needn't cost much at all. The problem with Wotte is that he keeps going for nonentities from abroad who invariably have one good game and then do nothing. I fear we're going to need a whole new team to even contemplating competing at the higher end of the league (not least a goalkeeper and two players who can regularly score). Do I trust Wotte to get the right players in? Not a chance.
  7. Completely agree. We should get rid of all the Dutch set-up. We are destined for a second successive relegation otherwise. Totally underwhelmed after all the hope of the last fortnight.
  8. Isn't it -25? Take your point though. Bournemouth only managed to stay up starting on -17 as only two teams went down, and there were truly sh1te teams at the bottom of their League. League 1 looks on the strong side this season.
  9. Yup, me too. Window Cleaner, you are an utter turd.
  10. Eyal Berkovic? Surely he'd be looking to invest his ill-gotten gains from walking out on us as a gesture of goodwill?
  11. What's wrong with Nigel Pearson? Our only decent manager since Strachan. We'd be as lucky as anything if we could get him back, plus it would really annoy Mandaric. Zero chance of it happening though, sadly.
  12. Hoddle refused to contribute to MLT's testimonial programme, the only Saints manager of the 1990's and early part of this decade to do so. Even Branfoot contributed, FFS. He won't be coming back if MLT is chairman, more chance of us signing Torres.
  13. To be honest, I think that if any other club in the country was going through the same, you'd be getting similarly large differences of opinion on a highly emotive scale. Ultimately, everybody on here cares about OUR club. It is not and never will be Michael Fialka's club.
  14. I'm fairly sure he actually said it was one person.
  15. Dare say he'd earn more working for SKY on Saturdays than being chairman of a League 1 club. He's not a moneygrabber in the Lowe mould.
  16. Haven't seen a lot of comment about Leon in today's posts, but if you did make the exclusivity payment last month, thanks Leon, and I'm really sorry that it looks like you may also have been mislead. Not much consolation for losing £500K, mind.
  17. I think that day is a bit of a sore subject for The9. Cost him a few bob over the odds to get in the ground, as I recall. But he was definitely there, yes.
  18. This is a crucial period. Somebody needs to get some Army boys for a couple of weeks to get the players running up mountains for two solid weeks like Strachan used to do. Make them run until they vom. Otherwise they'll end up like they did under the useless Burley, unable to run in the last half-hour of matches.
  19. Seems a rather odd situation for the financier and potential chairman to barely know each other, and rather begs the question, can we confident that they would have a harmonious working relationship? And I am one of those who very much wants MLT to be the chairman.
  20. What a load of utter crap you talk, as usual. You really do know nothing about football.
  21. Does Mark Jackson live in Poole? Oh. Perhaps he can help to fund Poole Town's new ground at Branksome Rec then.
  22. Such a shame that the review of MPs' expenses only goes back 4 years.
  23. So they're ultimately allowed to welch on their debts without suffering any penalty of significance whatsoever. I can kind of see where Pinnacle are coming from now; more so on the Stockport case than the parent company argument, to be honest.
  24. I cannot believe the FL would let us get away with it, precisely as the likes of Luton and Leeds will sue in double quick time.
  25. So why didn't the deduction take effect next season?
