TBF to MP he did make a few changes but looking at the bench he was clearly seeing the opportunity to change if things werent going well. And he did just that, but for me the changes should have been at half time.

Some of us are fuming, some are not. It's quite simple really - for those of us old to be football fans in the 80's and perhaps early 90's, we feel the passion for the cup. I for one was getting really excited about taking my daughter to Wembley and it seemed so likely, almost on a plate. Yes we made less changes than Sunderland but MP should have put his full team out, then if we were comfortably winning maybe then replace a few regulars. Feel unbelievably let down by MP for not taking the cup seriously. Given the amount of money in the PL now, the cup is now much more of a mere bonus competition. A bonus which is almost an extra gift for the fans. MP had no respect for that.

We got to the 1/4 final in 96. Beaten at Old trafford in an evening game. Perfectly good opener by Shipperley ruled out.
-
Maybe I'm over reacting but this was set up to be our year, and MP took it away from us.
-
Not with MP in charge no.
-
Laugh all you want but the fabric of our club is slowly going for me, and yesterday made things much clearer. I've got a ticket for Brighton v Hull tomorrow. Wonder how much effort those teams put in.
-
You see I dont think people are over reacting. I look back at our recent victories at Fulham and Hull and although its great to pick up the points, the main benefit for me was form going into the Sunderland game. That was really all that mattered. Everything was in our favour: - They are relgation threatened. - They are already in a cup final. - Most of all, we are far better than them. Yet despite this, the manager didnt seemed to care about this game and it blatantly reflected onto the players. Trips to Wembley are what its all about and Wembley was on a plate for us. We would of beaten Sunderland if we had played like any of our away league games and I mean any. Yet the desire of a true football fan to experience a day out at Wembley, some of us with friends, others with family, was well off the radar of MP. I've got a ticket for W Ham next week and I'm really not that bothered about it any more. The season is now a non-event. Give me Adkins and 12-14th position with a passion for the cup rather than this sh1ite any day of the week. I want our club back. Stripes and reputation of being a good cup team. I would be happy to see MP go.

I'm f*cking embarrassed to be a Saints fan right now. MP - see you next Tuesday.

Those who are claiming people are over reacting are clearly crap fans themselves. One of the true advantages of being a decent Prem team rather than one always flirting with relegation is there is a genuine chance of cup glory. Days out at Wembley are what its all about. I really couldnt care if we finish 7th or 10th but being still in the cup keeps the season alive. I was really looking forward to going to Wham next week but now have no motivation. In fact I dont think I can be arsed to go to SMS again this season. F**king disgrace !!!

It's not as if u can blame Mp. The team we have out now is far more full strength than their team.

This is a joke. FFs sort this out.

If I was going I would be going on Friday night.

eplsite.com is my recent favourite. Despite the name I bet it has FA cup matches.

Sunderlands team for tomorrow. Just want tomorrow to come round and us safely in the hat for the 1/4 final. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/guardian-team-for-fa-cup.879032/

Jose doesnt look that bad.

I've been on a few Sunderland forums. Most of them dont even have a thread on this game. I found just one thread below and most of their fans wont be over bothered if they lose this one. Poyet is giving some fringe players a go too. http://www.sunderlandmad.com/t7272-sunderland-v-southampton-fa-cup Rip into them from the start and this could easily be over by half time.

But earlier in the season we were winning home game after home game. Swansea, then Fulham, then Hull if I remember right. But our defence was lock tight back then.
-
The same team that lost at home to Hull then who we were a class above last night.

Tough girl actress Michelle Rodriguez is set to join her brother at St Marys too.

keep giving the ball away to cheaply

There's no doubt about it, were a really decent team. Hull are a mid table side and we're far better than them. I'm quite excited about the cup. Get through this weekend and we have genuine chance given who will be left in it and we're probably the only team with little to play for in the league.
-
This. Dont want us to lose though as its good to continue the unbeaten run.
-
I wouldnt take Hull as a given. Brighton have knocked out Newcastle in the last 2 seasons. I've got a ticket to this game (bton v hull i mean)

There will be 2 top class teams in the 6th round draw. Maybe 3 if you count Everton. There will be 2 non-Prem teams in the 6th round draw. The rest will be Prem teams we are capable of beating. Win this Saturday and we have an excellent chance of Wembley for the semis. I went on a Sunderland forum yesterday and a lot of them dont seem to care. They all agree that a draw is worse than a defeat given that the replay would be a few days before the LC final. So storm into a lead and I cant see them finding the motivation to get back into it. Is that cheat Wes Brown suspended for our game btw?

Was in the mexican opposite Pizza Express in Oxford St before the game. Lovren, his wife and nipper were in there. Certainly didnt look injured.
