Blake's 7

I remember the game well, sunshine on day one of 1986/87; Clarke triple along with goals from Nick Holmes and Danny Wallace. We have only won our opening league game twice since then - 1988 (West Ham 4-0) and 1999 (1-0 at Coventry).

Aye, it's part of the "Sky News & Events Pack" - http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/entertainment-packs/news-events-pack/

Agreed, it was fantastic. I went along to a local cinema with my other half, she has seen Les Mis a couple of time in the distant past and thought I might enjoy it even though musicals are not generally my thing. She was right, a cracking evening.

IMO, an utterly ridiculous decision with fundamentally abject timing. As far as I am concerned stability was needed after the mayhem of the last few years, after losing Markus earlier this month surely the club did not need this change today. If Pardew is not good enough for the job now then what fundamentally has changed since the end of last season (considering we have only played three league games in that time), this has not been explained in the statement from the club and that itself is simply really not good enough from NC. Regardless of the reaction of our fellow Saints fans, it is the reaction from the wider football supporting world that says it all to me. I have received quite a few text messages from various people whom support other clubs, each one of them has expressed disbelief at this decision. I have even been asked whether RL was back in charge of the club and have received commiserations on Saints apparent willingness to committing suicide again. It appears to me that the club has taken a huge gamble, one which NC must take full responsibility for the outcome of. If his new appointment (whomever that turns out to be) is successful and we do get promoted this season then it will be fair play to him and I will be happy for him to continue to run our club. However if we do not go up this season then Markus's family must act to replace him in May/June. Any honeymoon period for NC has long gone with today's announcement.

The Sky games are Accrington v Barcodes on Wednesday and Brum v Rochdale on Thursday.

Travelled down to pay my respects today, a truly fantastic set of tributes have been left outside the stadium which indicates the high regard that Markus is held by our wonderful fans. The wind has played havoc with some of the shirt and tributes that are not weighed down; hopeful someone at the club can help keep them straighten out over the next week.

Markus Liebherr RIP. All tributes here please.

My thoughts and condolences are with the family members and loved ones of Markus. Thank you Markus for saving our club, you are a Saint Forever and will be truly missed. Rest in Peace. -
Did the Freesat TV previously show Meridian South (and BBC1 South)? If the answer is yes then..... Sky boxes inhibit a similar problem sometimes, they default to BBC1 London and ITV Central West if they fail to pick up the correct post code details encoded on the viewing card (or when a box is rebooted with no viewing card inserted). When this happens (once in a blue moon) I have to power off the box at the mains, wait 30 second then power back on (with the card inserted); after the full reboot the card details are usually picked up and its back to BBC1 South and Meridisake North, as it should be for my location. I have seen something similar happen on a stand-alone Freesat box, a hard power cycle fixed it. Whether this works on an inbuilt Freesat receiver on a TV, well it is worth a try.

That was a fantastic piece, well done Top Gear.

Incorrect, BBC London borrowed her from BBC South for a while, then she saw sense and returned to Southampton.

On South Today yesterday evening we had the very pleasant event of Jo Kent, Dani Sinha and Reham Khan all presenting on the sofa at the same time.

Thank you Mary - RIP.

With regards to the original question. Relegation reprieves are the standard way of dealing with this in the English Football Pyramid; it has happen in most season recently further down the tree and there are plenty of reprieves in the offing during this closed season with a host of teams going pop this season. There is no reason that I am aware of why that would be any different if Palace, the fish or anyone else goes pop before each league constitution is confirmed at the various AGM's over the summer. Last closed season, if we had gone pop this is the way it would have been handled down the pyramid to the level of the reformed club (if that had happened).

It was tight between a few saints players so I made my final my choice based on comments made to me by three Carlisle fans I was chatting to on the tube after the game; they noticed the job that Dan Harding did and agreed that he had a big role in restricting the effect of their own teams attacking threat. Recognition of Dan's efforts from the fans of ones opponents was great to see.

Can we? Yes of course we can as it is still possible. The real question is will we? With our inability to consistently win on the road; it is now very much odds against so I doubt it. However, we live in hope still.

This blog can give an indication of the current level of 'talent' (or otherwise) around regional land (and beyond) - http://stevesregionalnewscaps.blogspot.com/ -
Stunning result, Fantastic Saints

Another show totally over-hyped for ages before it actually airs; I hope it goes against the usual grain of such shows and actually lives up to that hype.

Just be patient with the phone number, after about an hour of continuous redial I got through; a message asked said 'welcome to the ticket office' and asked me to hold for someone to become free and then rang for a further 8 minutes; 5 minutes later tickets purchased.

Thanks for letting us know Muckers. It is great to hear a good news story
