  1. This is top notch, thanks for posting Saint-Armstrong.
  2. A footballing and Saints legend. RIP Big Ron.
  3. http://www.nationalfootballmuseum.com/about-us/latest-news/2013/05/hall-of-fame-inductees-announced/ Congratulations Le God.
  4. So sad, my thoughts are with all of the Chaplow family. RIP Teddy.
  5. RIP Kevin. I was lucky enough to meet Kevin on the pitch at The Dell after our final home game at the end of his first season with Southampton (87-88?); I asked if he had enjoyed his first season with us, a big smile came on to his face as he signed my programme and he commented "loving it here".
  6. This is relate to travel logistics; For Guernsey to play in the English pyramid they needed to have a port of entry to England that had good enough travel services to allow them to travel to and from games and their opponents to have suitable travel arrangements to the Island for games. The best port of entry for this purpose was Gatwick Airport; they started at Step 6 of the Non-league pyramid and Combined Counties Division One was chosen as best placed for access to Gatwick for its clubs (the other prime option would have been Sussex County League Division Two at Step 6). They were promoted to the Combined Counties Premier Division at Step 5 which covers a similar geographical footprint and if promoted this season with no change to the port of entry they will almost certainly be placed in Isthmain (Ryman) League Division One South at Step 4 by the FA National League System committee over the summer.
  7. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21918727 Yet will still take charge of them at the JPT final, the crazy world of professional football just keeps getting more bizarre.

  9. Nigel, The two and a half years that you have been with us have been fantastic; you've had the squad playing with energy, passion, commitment, style and of course huge success. The continuous improvement of the players has been outstanding; it shows how good a man manager and football coach that you are. This season it has been clear that you have been learning a huge amount from each match not only about the players but also about this league and yourself - the continued improvement over the last 22 league games has been clear to see across the squad and with how you have handled them; I am totally flabbergasted that the powers that be at the club cannot see that improvement and take the view that it will surely continue under your tutoring giving us the best possible chance of staying up this season (and pushing on from there in the seasons that follow); add to this if we were to fall short this season that you are clearly one of the best equipped people to drive the club to bounce back straight away. I feel sure that you will be a massive success in the future, much to Southampton FC's loss, and I really hope that you prove the powers that to be wrong with the decision that they have made. You have clear principles about how the game should be played; please stick with them. A massive thank you and best wishes for the future.
  10. Disgusted.
  11. RIP Eric.
  12. Truly amazing!Thank you Markus.
  13. When I was fortunate enough to get through earlier this morning I asked whether I can collect at the Donny game and was told that that would be fine.
  14. Cavendish is the clear standout performer, it would be about fecking time for him too; however the problem is that the majority of pleboid voters in this country have no actual proper clue about sport and generally follow the press like the degenerate sheep that they mimic; so it'll probably be one of the two golfers.
  15. No, this squad does not even register compared to majority of our time in the top flight.Saying that they are fantastic for what they have done, and the way they have done it, in the past year or so Lets hope it continues deep into this season.
  16. We played Gothenburg on February 22nd 1982 in a friendly at The Dell, the result was 4-4; scorers for Saints were Armstrong with two and the aforementioned La Ling with two. No idea who La Ling was, he did not play a competitive game for the Saints first team during that season. The Norrkoping fiasco was in the September of the same year (15th at home, 29th away) in the UEFA cup.
  17. He took 8 seconds from Andy Schleck and 6 seconds from Wiggins. This is exactly what he did in this years Giro, up hill finish and he attacked; considering he has losses from the first two days to pull back in this race and there are less up hill finishes compared to this years Giro it was no surprise at all that he had a go today. Hushvold was fantastic, Evans is probably quite happy that while winning the stage he did not end up in yellow as he does not need his team defending the jersey at this point in time.
  18. It is very simple. The lowest low was the passing of Marcus. The highest high was achieving promotion.
  19. Very sad, condolences to his family and loved ones. RIP Jack.
  20. Only for those who live beyond their means and fail to plan their financial business properly. The drop in income is known in advance, there is no excuse for any club to get into financial problems due to this change.
  21. So sad to hear the news, condolences to his family and loved ones. RIP Deano.
  22. Sky News (Sky Channel 501) is reporting that Andy Gray has been sacked.
  23. BBC 1 South is broadcast Free to Air on Astra 2D @ 28.2E so you should be able to add it as an additional channel using your Sky box. On your sky box go to - Services, System Setup, Add Channels Set the following: Frequency = 10.818 Polarisation = V Symbol Rate = 22.0 FEC = 5/6 Then Select "Find Channels" Look for "BBC 1 South", Highlight this and Store Channel (usually the yellow button), then Press Select - twice; then back up twice. Under - Services, Other Channels - you should see "BBC 1 South" listed, Highlight and Select this to view the channel.
  24. The sash is fine this season especially without an advert plastered over the front off it. If we are going to have a shirt sponsor next season then I would vote for a return to stripes; however if not then I would be quite happy with either sash or stripes (though the later is my preference).
