  1. A man who has the very rare ability to be able to connect his audience with the sport or event he was covering, sadly missed. Rest in Peace David.
  2. An update from the Echo. Thanksgiving service at Highfield Church on Monday 19th January at 10am. Rest In Peace Barry Heys.
  3. The result was hugely important today, keeps us in touch and keeps Barnsley in the mix. Credit to the players for a classic mugging of Barnsley today. Now we must build on this and we must beat Doncaster next week.
  4. Seasons greetings to one and all.
  5. Our average league crowd after Saturday for this season is 16,644.
  6. Thanks for the link St Landrew; have seen a few TV programmes over the years on the short lived British space programme, sadly the "sheer lack of imagination of British politicians" has not changed from then through to now.
  7. Disagree about pressure, this is nothing compared to the pressure of being expected to win against lower opposition. We will not be expected to do anything against ManUre. Agree about the experience, it is a good test for them and a great opportunity.
  8. Frankly this is a much better draw than getting a non-league team away from home, the team will have no pressure on them and this is, so far during the current season, when they have tendered to perform at their best.

  10. Test Series goes ahead with a new venue for 2nd test. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/england/7751756.stm
  11. Happy Birthday Mick.
  12. Was going to be a tough test and it proved to be the case. We need to find a way of winning homes games however before that lets go to Charlton and win there.
  13. It was three valuable points.
  14. This will be a tough game no doubt; another good test for the players, recently we seem to be at our best when up against it thus this is a very good opportunity to produce another performance like today and hopefully gain the win that may put our poor home run to bed.

  16. Wonderful performance and a thoroughly deserved three points; what a cracking day out too. If this does not give the whole team the self belief that they can get themselves higher in the table then nothing will. Well done to the lads today, they should be proud of the way they played and the three points they won.
  17. Why, are the players soft? We both play on the Saturday at 3pm, so no one has an advantage; if both sets of professional players cannot play twice in a little under 53 hours then they should be sacked and should never be paid to play again. In Isthmian League Division One South (6 divisions below Saints), this weekend Sittingbourne and Worthing play separate games on Saturday at 3pm; Worthing (from West Sussex) also away in Kent on Saturday. Monday is Sittingbourne's designated mid-week home day thus the two play each other the following Monday evening giving the same time gap. Neither team appear to be moaning, considering nearly all the players have day jobs to contend with too. This is not exactly uncommon, Kingstonian in the same division (who share with AFC Wimbledon) also player midweek home games on a Monday.
  18. Hopefully most people are aware of this sad news; it has been on the national and local news over the last couple of days. It looks like a tribute may be paid at the game on Saturday, the form of this has yet to be announced. RIP Stewart.
  19. The Sky Sports team were discussing the best track to attend a NASCAR race during last nights season finale. Bristol was the one that seemed to come out at the top of that discussion.
  20. Was not able to come down to see her off this evening, however have been lucky enough follow the various coverage on both the BBC and Sky. A great send off from the city.
  21. Magic, well done to the lads. Hopefully they have proved to themselves that they can get results in this league even though they are often up against it; hopefully this will help them to believe in themselves and gain the confidence to improve.
  22. Well done to the lads for bouncing back and fighting for a point tonight; something to build on for Saturday.
  23. Regardless of anything else in the game we showed the sort of levels of abject incompetence that relegated us from the Premier League - all three goals and both penalties were of utter numpty levels, it was embarrassingly bad. We gifted a crap Watford team three points for just turning up. Time to regroup and show that they can learn fast for tomorrow night.
  24. So sad to hear this news; Best wishes to his family. R.I.P. Bob.
  25. Visited NYC in the Easter of 2001, visited the WTC and did the then usual tourist bit of going up to the observation deck and the roof of tower two. Went to the shops including Century 21, it was cheap as chips so purchases were made. Stood between the two towers and looked up. Gave perspective to what happened in the September. Have not been back to NYC since though would like to, however may wait until they have finished rebuilding.
