Saints Greatest XI - Your Views and Opinions
SaintSparky replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
Thanks for pulling this together St Landrew; it has been a very welcome and interesting football related diversion in recent weeks. -
Can look no further than either Case or Ball.

Stumps - Day 1 England 301-3 - Strauss 169 That's a bit more like it, now lets try to not make a mess of it!
-
Luck has nothing what so ever to do with it; we have not been good enough - end of story.
-
A cracking game. Just a shame the BBC could not get the most basic technical thing right and sync the audio with the video for the whole match; with the mess that they made of the Rugby yesterday I do fear what they might mess up when F1 gets under way.

Saints Greatest XI - The Best Managers Poll
SaintSparky replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
For me, even through Lawrie was during my time there is no doubt that in the history of Southampton FC that Mr Ted Bates is the clear number one, Lawrie is the clear number two; outside of this no other manager in our history comes remotley close to these two. -
Setanta Sports News making similar claims too.

Beyond abject; they are pathetic.
-
Two very different questions asked here. For the Poll - "Do you think we will stay up this year or be relegated to League 1"? I'm sad to say that I think we will probably go down. From the original text - "genuinely think we can stay up?" Of course we can, plenty of twists and turns to happen yet, we are not down at the moment.

Saints Greatest XI - The Best Managers Nominations

Ted Bates and Lawri Mac, as far as I'm concerned it should be a straight vote between to two of them only. -
Incompetence by "Chav TV for Britain" - bunch of numb-nuts. As soon as that happened I switched the radio on to hear the goal. If the FA have any balls at all (which we know they do not) they will take full payment from ITV and hand coverage straight to the BBC for the rest of the contract. Very funny that Raffa gets it up him.

A creditable result and display however if we don't start winning home games like this one we will almost certainly go down. We need to find a way to win against Sheffield United on Tuesday as we are in danger of drifting further away from our rivals. Come on you Saints.

Rest in Peace Bill.

Best Wishes Ed, hope you have a speedy and full recovery.

Thanks .comsaint.

Serious credit is due to the lads for the fightback tonight. However the only thing that actually mattered tonight was the end result and yet again we have failed to do the required job in a relegation six pointer. Sure a draw is better than losing but it is still not good enough. Onwards to Swansea, a game where most neutrals will have a bolt on away win in their minds; lets hope we cause a shock and end this abject run at St Mary's. Come on you Saints.

The Prisoner was brilliant; Patrick was a cracking actor, a summary of his career can be found here. Number 6 is free now.... Rest in Peace Patrick.

As you may know ITV Meridian are merging the two Meridian regios (South and East) with the Thames Valley news service in to one less than local region to save cash. Fred "Skate" Dinenage has predictably survived the cull to head up the show for the whole of the mega-region. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4045925.Debbie_Thrower_is_leaving_Meridian_Tonight/

Glad that he was able to join in the very special tributes in London in November. Rest in Peace Bill Stone.
