TBF, I don't think I've yet seen ings use his left foot either...it's stupidly common for a player to be one footed, look at the best player in the world. I certainly think he could be a real player, not quite sure it should be £25m, but if he comes in suits the system and plays well, he's probably worth £30m +
-
We absolutely could if we were to get rid of (rough figures) McCarthy £5m Cedric £10m Stephens £5m Hoedt £10m Reed £5m Clasie £2m Elyounoussi £10m Hesketh £2m Boufal £12m Carrillo £8m Austin £3m Gallagher £5m Thats a total of ca £80m. Might have overpriced a couple and possibly underpriced a few, but high level we should be able to get somewhere between £60 - £80m for them. And of course the half million a week off the wage bill...

Beautiful machine!!!

Not only that, we'd get absolutely demolished in midfield. Swap Romeu for Lemina, and JWP for Boufal and could work. But even then, we would struggle to sign those players.

I mean, Lallana would definitely improve us, admittedly there are a few younger lads in there, (Aribo, Connell, Phillips, Lookman, Djenopo) but I'd rather we spent the money on younger promising players, rather than your Carrillos of this world. Almeida would be a stop gap I guess as we want to develop Valery who could become a huge asset for us. Ayew I give you is absolutely dreadful We've got a lot of rebuilding to do, so not surprised we're looking at the highest rated lads in younger age groups rather than players abroad.

FWIW - thought this one was absolutely lovely.

Quite like Mooy but absolutely not to type of player we should be spending money on, there are enough other positions which should be a priority. And if we're buying a midfielder, it should be an upgrade on Romeu, not another player who can play in the position slightly further forward IMO

Latest England Squad - Redmond and JWP called up
Saint Garrett replied to simo's topic in The Saints
Ah didn't realise that. Still seems a waste of time having 3 RB's in the squad regardless. -
Thought that this was just a fan mock-up based on a bit of info from the ITK's. Don't think this is actually a leaked kit ?

4 to drop out to the final squad. Pretty large squad with 7 forwards. Think Maddison and Wan-Bissaka can feel a little aggrieved. -
Guido Carrillo - Official: Free Transfer to Elche
Saint Garrett replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Transfer fee out will probably depend on his wages, can't imagine he's on anymore than 50/55K per week. You'd probably take £10-£12m for him if possible, but the wheels should be in motion to get rid of him. -
Think thats highly likely, anyone any good at photoshop, that in red and white, with that big blue badge on the front, thats our kit.

WHat kind of football training business who is relatively new, has a spare £8m+ lying about to sponsor a premier league football club? If Virgin was £7m, and this is "comfortably the biggest in the clubs history"...
-
From what I heard, it'll be a youth team going out there, possibly with a couple of "reserves" - first team is going to Austria I think?

Signed last year I thought!? https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/16409919.southampton-sign-danny-ings-on-loan-from-liverpool-on-transfer-deadline-day/

They're also more than capable of having a nightmare season, though you have to give them praise for the improvements they've made, but two of those have spent a lot of money, and have far larger wage bills (Everton & West Ham). The table is split into more than 2 tiers this season. City Liverpool Tottenham Chelsea Arsenal Man Utd Everton West Ham Leicester Wolves Watford Bournemouth Newcastle Palace Saints Burnley Brighton 3 promoted sides Could easily see those teams moving about a bit next year, but can't see the bottom 6 finishing top half, and can't see the top half teams being relegated. If we can get to the top of the next group of teams. we'll finish comfortably mid-table on 50ish points, something that is not out of the question, but we need to get the summer recruitment right, and move the ones we don't want on to other clubs. And sort ourselves out mentally so we stop throwing away leads.

Yup pretty much agree with SNSUN. Wouldn't be upset with getting rid of Armstrong and Lemina either, as the latter should have some sell on value and large wages. Think we'd be ok with one more first choice DM/CM and then Romeu, Hojbjerg, JWP, Reed to fight for 2 of the other positions. Would like the AM to be a quick player too, probably more in the mould of Mane than an Armstrong/Elyounoussi type. Any news on that Senegalese chap we apparently bid £20m for?
-
Not surprised at Brighton, given the football they play and the fact they nearly went down because of dreadful form the second half of the season. Potter would be an odd choice for me though.
