Hughes will go with.... McCarthy, ; Targett Yoshida Vestergaard Hoedt Bertrand; Romeu Hojbjerg Armstrong Gabbiadini Austin (Hopefully!!! No Lemina (lazy cnt), obviously Cedric if not AWOL! Ideally not Austin but he’s **** but no one else. Possibly Elyounoussi in behind Gabbi? Please be better than the waste of an afternoon yesterday...I’m going to be horribly hungover

1. Can't see him coming to us, 2. Cant see Palace selling Zaha. 3. If they do it'll be for £60m +

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business
Saint Garrett replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Don't know much about Meyer, but Ayew is sh!te and always gets relegated, and Kouyate is a pretty awful CM. -
Hope the same, but wouldn't be surprised if Yoshida starts on the bench, as we have Hoedt, Bednarek & Vestergaard who have to be more likely to start. Because we only have 1 right back, Cedric should have been back sooner IMO and should have been fine for Saturday, whether he is or not I don't know...

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester

This whole money argument in this thread is ridiculous, and completely ignores the fact that we get a load of TV money every season. Pretty much all other teams apart from Newcastle have a net outflow on transfers, we shouldn't need to be sustainable from a transfer in/out perspective. If we had sold no-one I'd still expect us to spend £30/£40m - that's just the way football is these days. -
We've had this problem for the last few years...mental that it wasn't the first issue we fixed this summer...at the end of the day, we still haven't replaced Pelle & Mane and we won't score a decent amount of goals until we improve our striking options.
-
Still don't think he'd suddenly be able to command his area, but he might have one of those games where he just gets in the way of everything. He isn't as bad as some make out, but his lack of confidence and the fact he doesn't command his area is a problem. We have better in McCarthy but he wouldn't be the worst signing in the world for Burnley given their situation. He might even just need a fresh start.
-
Origi at this stage of the window with us in our current situation, has got to be tempting. I mean he's not a bad player, he's quite quick bit of a handful, would offer us something we don't have. In this ridiculous market, if we could negotiate to something like £20m I'd probably take him...
-
Not as much as losing Pelle & Mane...Tadic & Austin would be a lot easier to replace.
-
Yeah said the same, surely he'd have offers in London which he'd prefer rather than all the way up there.
-
Mate of mine reckons Charlie Austin is due at Boro before Wednesday...no idea whether to believe it or not.
-
But it doesn't look likely, that we're going to play 4 at the back, especially when we have so many CB's. I'd be tempted to play something like your set up though... ..............McCarthy Cedric Yoshida Vestergaard Bertrand ...........Lemina Romeu.................. Redmond-Armstrong-Elyounoussi ......Gabbiadini / Austin................
-
Yup - exactly this. I think Gunn is good business but seems strange when we're desperate for a goal scorer. We could have dealt with Forster as backup, especially given his wages. We could also do with getting rid of Stephens, and TBH, I'd be tempted to bring Pied back as a backup RB on a free, he's still not got a club and no point us spending decent money on a RB backup.
-
Can’t see it, isn’t he on upwards of £120k pw? No thanks, got enough CM’s, need a proper striker
-
It will be 5311, it will be largely dull, and we will probably make mistakes at the back and struggle to score...the team is so weak. If you look through pretty much everyone’s best XI in the league, ours is comfortably bottom 5/6 probably bottom 3. Utterly ridiculous that it looks like we’re going into another season with **** strikers.
-
We're weak everywhere, Defence - Lets hope Vestergaard is a big improvement, and Hoedt steps up this season and Yoshida stays fit. Midfield - Ok in this area, but a lack of pace and a lack of attacking intent - lets hope Lemina can be on it all season, and Armstrong fits in and scores a few. And we still need a quick winger Strikers - Lets just pray we sign one before the window closes. It's been a problem for 3 years now,
-
Assuming we bring in someone else to play on the wing, then yes. He could do with games regularly at his age, and probably wont start many games for us if at all.
-
Supposedly, about €9m..Courtois to Real for €25m.
-
Reina to Chelsea.
