  1. Think all of the ones I suggested are over 21, and they’ll be others I don’t have on my list which will need to be counted or moved on who I have missed, I.e. Barnes, Flannigan, etc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  2. Don't forget they don't have to pay for a stadium...that helps...!
  3. Certainly would expect them to be. Amstrong in the hole, Elyounoussi out wide, Vestergaard a starter, only one is maybe Gunn who will be fighting it out with McCarthy for the no 1 shirt. No harm in having competition in that position. My point was more that our squad still feels quite bloated if you include any of the other youngsters who now have to be counted...with the added assumption of the 6 highlighted leaving which may not even happen.
  4. How many players do we currently have who will have to be counted in the 25 man squad? Currently including Vestergaard and Gunn... GK's: McCarthy Gunn Forster Rose DF's: Hoedt Stephens Vestergaard Yoshida Bednarek Targett Bertrand McQueen Cedric MF's: Lemina Romeu Hojbjerg Reed Davis Armstrong JWP Clasie AM's: Redmond Elyounassi Boufal Sims ST's: Austin Gabbiadini Long Gallagher Thats 28 players...assuming we find a home for the ones in bold that leaves us with 23 players. Also doesn't include the "youngsters" that now have to be counted in the squad (not sure how many of these there are now?) Still probably a wide man and a striker away from the squad as of August too...
  5. Would have prefered Leicester to also get moved tbh, can't make that one...!
  6. Surely Stephens to drop out. Following would be my choice in order, starting the top 3 or possibly Bednarek instead of Hoedt. Stephens nowhere near good enough. 1. Vestergaard 2. Hoedt 3. Yoshida 4. Bednarek 5. Stephens
  7. TBF, Pellegrini wasn't going to come in and not want to improve the largely crap squad... Their recruitment is a bit scattergun, worse strategy than ours, but they do throw money about. They could and should be the one that should be building to break into the top 6 with their stadium etc but no danger of that happening yet.
  8. It certainly helps not having a manager coming into a new job, new league, and not knowing the squad. Hughes has had a few months to assess the squad and probably was already aware of our weaknesses before he joined. It's certainly more promising, I'm not sure you can mark it as an 8/10 just yet, but heading in the right direction...
  9. West Ham also on the cusp of signing Wilshere and Yarmolenko...be interesting to see how that one pans out, been linked with the Prem for years!

  11. Possibly we think with Cedric obviously first choice, we have enough backup with Stephens / JWP / Reed / Redmond who could all fill in the odd game there. I guess it depend if we're playing 442, 532 or 352...
  12. Think Long is playing RWB.
  13. Maybe. ---------------------McCarthy ------------Stephens Hoedt Bertrand------------- Redmond----------------------------------Targett -------------Lemina----------Hojbjerg----------- ---------------------Armstrong------------------- ----------------Long-----Austin
  14. 2-0 England, come on boys!!!
  15. Was immense second half of the season, I think he'd be a great signing for us.
  16. I quite like him, but just feel it's a position we're well stocked in. Romeu, Lemina, Hojbjerg, Davis, Armstrong, JWP, Reed, Clasie, Hesketh, Slattery... We need a few to be cut I feel.
  17. Juanmi barely played, Redmond has had more of an impact IMO.
  18. In on the joke? Seems like peanuts for someone as good as Tadic. Terrible deal for Saints if true. @SimonPeach 10m10 minutes ago More Dusan Tadic gave good service & produced some superb moments for #SaintsFC, but he turns 30 this year & was too inconsistent last season. Ajax say they are paying €11.4million , rising to €13.7million - not a bad return
  19. Think it's pretty common tbh. Carroll when he went to West Ham, I remember Leeds were subsidising loads of players after they'd left when they were in the **** financially, Smith, Viduka, Keane etc. I'd expect any player on large wages who moves to a club who can't afford him, is pretty likely to be paying his wages.
  20. The way he plays, he reminds me a bit of VVd, obviously not as good but similar type of player. Looks dominant and exactly what we need, get him in.
  21. It's a no real loss situation. He is either a good signing, or an inexpensive squad player. He could be at the club for a few years, not really contribute and we'd still get £10m for him...like the fact he should be able to come in and hit the ground running. Does this signal the end for Prowsey though? Would be a shame.
  22. If it's a loan, I can't see him coming to sit on the bench...also can't see City letting him go permanently, unless he doesn't fit the "Pep way" but would surely cost quite a chunk?!
  23. £7m is f all in the current climate, looks like he can score goals from outside the box...good luck to him. Sounds like it could be a really good piece of business.
  24. Should never have been allowed to buy the club. Kats got desperate and we’re now a mess...
  25. Mooy...good player, not a player we need... CB, RB, AM, RW, ST minimum needed IMO... GK, 2nd CB, LW nice to have.... Thats 8 players, we also could easily move 10 on. I just don't understand how this summer has gone so far.
