Buy some pretty solid premier league options, whilst weakening rivals and who can hit the ground running straight away. Bring in a few top young talents from abroad, for the longer term.

I'm quite looking forward to playing against them with Targett and Burn playing.

He played left back that day too! I liek him, he's got ability for sure, but it's frustrating that he can never get a proper run in the side. One of the few players who can beat people, but seems to have gone backwards this season.

Yup - he's not going to go to the other big 5 clubs. Palace would probably be a good fit for him.

They were never going to go and buy the worlds best players in this window. I expect a huge amount of movement in the summer, once they're starting on 0 points along with everyone else. Bruno Guimaraes, Ekitike, Trippier, possibly Lingard & Henderson, are all players that can be competing at the top half of the league. If they just stay up this year, a bunch of these players will be out the door within 2 years, but it won't have mattered as they've done a job.

I don't think thats the point. They clearly have way better players than they did a month ago.

Might as well just call this the Newcastle thread… Ekitike, Burn, Lingard, Targett, Henderson, Carrasco, Diop…anyone I’ve missed? Im expecting us to bring in one late player on loan. As we have done over the last few seasons. Might be why Moussa has been linked away…

Not uncommon for us to pop up with a last minute loan, so if someone comes available, then great, if not, then so be it. We get on with the rest of the season. We should have enough to stay up, and we can sort stuff out for the summer.

I know they’re not specifically the same position, but wonder if them signing Kulesevski means Alli will be leaving today / tomorrow. I’d definitely take him on a risk free loan.

Not sure I've read anything suggesting we're willing to pay £17m. But thats what was pre-agreed with Moscow, with a buy back, after the loan. I think possibly Chelsea were protecting themselves there if he want and tore it up in that league. It was only an option.

Think they said it was 100% agreed. Probably to get a bit more money out of Newcastle. His medical is today I think. I actually think they’ve recruited well, so far this month, him and Trippier are great signings. Wood bit of an odd one. But if it keeps them up cos Burnley don’t score, then I guess it’s good business? They still need a CB, which I guess will happen in next few days.

I think if we were spending a load of money on him, then maybe. But it’s a no risk loan deal. It’s a no brainier IMO.

An interesting one....certainly seems that we're keen and doesnt seem to be shy from the video below. Plenty of confidence. Maybe one for the summer if we can't get it done this month.

Wonder if Armando can put us in a good word for Strakosha at Lazio. Few others in the Italian league that are pretty highly rated, no idea whether they'd be available or not. Audero (Sampdoria), Dragowski (Fiorentina), Cragno (Cagliari). Always seem to have a bunch of decent keepers in that league.

It's one of the key benefits of being a STH. And probably one of the main reasons STH's buy a ST. I don't have a problem if STH's get priority of away games and key cup games.
