They're clearly a good side, underperforming. I know I said it last week, but I'd give Tino a rest. Is Armstrong fit? Lets hope so. Probably go with Elyounoussi if S Armstrong not fit. Macca KWP Lyanco Salisu Perraud Armstrong (if fit?) JWP Romeu Redmond Adams Armstrong

It's Talksport, it's no surprise. That radio station is the radio equivalent of the daily star transfer gossip. Rubbish.

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25

Yup great stuff. It's abiout a 10 year cycle, so this set of kids coming through, would have been brought into the club just as we were back in the premier league. Will expect a lot more talents over the next few years, than the last 10. -
I'd be tempted to go with this. The sort of game that we may tweak the formation. Would like to see Lyanco start and think Tino needs a rest. Macca (Forster but he won't get picked) Bednarek Lyanco Salisu KWP JWP Romeu Diallo Perraud Armstrong Adams

Had a couple of poor games IMO, Don't know if thats because he is being more targetted by opposition, but looked off the pace in both the Villa and Norwich games. I'd be temted to give him the Liverpool game off, and bring him back for the next one. Clearly a massive talent, but he's still so young. Perraud has also done nothing wrong.

A lot of them live around Winchester. I was told Steven Davis still lives there, and commutes to Rangers. Quite a few of them are moving to Ascot area supposedly, which is where Macca lives atm.

There are pricks everywhere, thats life.
-
Rough. Always had potential, but never quite got there, this explains a lot. hopefully he can carve a career out still.
-
Quite a few of them are moving to Ascot area anyway, so I’ve heard. Macca loves that way already. 60 mins on the motorway…who cares…
-
So I’ve been told. Regularly up at the Winchester golf academy

Apart frm us losing!

Steven Davis still lives in Winchester, commutes to Rangers…!

Yup - I was there at the weekend, it sounds pretty cool, and catching up with the rest of the premier league in places. These facilities have moved on so much over the last 10 years, parts of it are out of date now.

I think it depends on how you define “better player”. Personally I think Adams is the better all round player, but Broja is a better finisher for sure. Adams gets more out of the players around him too. Adams has shown himself to be a pretty streaky striker, so hopefully he can go into the next few months and grab a few. If he can get 12-15 this season, I think that’s a decent return given his positive impact on the rest of the team.

Said originally, the big screens were going up in this international break. I'm expecting them to be there come the Leicester game. They've had a month to put them up.
-
He also has Kante mopping up everything behind him, which gives him the freedom to do the "insta" stuff. Give him time and space and he's a quality player, stick him under pressure and he will constantly give you the ball back.
-
But; he has an attitude problem, turns up late, and doesn't like hard work. On top of that, he's on loan. Although we have to look at whats best right now, we have to balance it with what is best for the club in the future. I have no problem with that, and the competition can only be a good thing. I disagree with you that Adams value is capped. It is as of his current quality, but he's already improved a lot since we bought him. If he can become a better finisher (like last night, proper goalscorers finish) he could easily be an option for clubs further up the league. The biggest frustration for me, is he snatches at chances, and has always just hit it hard rather than placing the ball in the corner. But that finish last night was exactly that.

Probably agent chat, trying to increase what we're offering him on a new contract, or putting pressure on the club to offer him one.... I think he has promise, but he's certainly not standing out like, for example, Tino. Will be interesting to see where he is come May, and how much game time he's had for us.

The majority were back on Monday.

Absolutely no chance we'd sign Lingard IMO. Would take Henderson for sure, but only really if we have a chance of making him permanent. Utd would probably charge a fortune for us to take him too, given how much money they wanted for Brandon Williams...!
-
Looks like it'll be Lampards first game too...

Ayew: £21m Bolasie: £25m Sissoko: £30m Slimani: £30m Xhaka £34m Stones: £50m Pogba: £90m Transfer fees had already got ridiculous at that point. Given his age, and how good he was, we should have got more for him IMO.
-
He probably should have gone for closer to that at the time, given quite how incredible he was at the back end of that season. Those transfer fees weren't unheard of at that time. Especially for an attacker.
-
Yeah, but if he's playing for us, he's got Tino bombing forward on the other side, which means they both can't bomb forward. We do play with a preference to play down the right.
-
Completely agree. The settling in of Salisu, the upturn in Macca's form, the addition of Tino/Perraud, and Ralph's willingness to change things when it's not going well for us, (start of 2nd half vs Villa the prime example), all have a big influence on that. In addition to Romeu being back to full fitness, we all know how important Romeu is to us.
