  1. Blimey! To put things in perspective, re. the club that has beat Man U 6-1 today, it is a mere 11 years since they clawed there way out of the 3rd division via the play-offs. I remember the day well, most of their fans were half-way down empire way when The Mighty Gills ****ed up. Ironically, that Wembley game is more memorable and perhaps poignant to the wider footballing world than going up as Champions (Brighton?) or even second (us?). I'm pretty sure that they went up again the next season only to drop straight back down again. It must be quite a fear to club's fans that you may turn into a 'yo-yo club' but they haven't looked back since the subsequent promotion. In those Div 3 days they still managed an average of around 30k at home which iirc was about 30% down on their capacity at the old Maine Road (sound familiar). Apart from the distasteful (to some) financial clout that they have now, I see Man City's revival as aspirational to similar clubs, like ourselves, who have decent sized solid fan-bases and a little bit of pedigree. The World keeps turning.....
  2. ROME, Obviously
  3. One wasn't built in a day k, 1 thing at a time. We still havent replaced Pulis ffs.
  4. Prow at the.madejski yesterday must be wondering why WE can't just u.dirk the bloody thing and have done with it. There's looked good but Iirc, ours is better. Can't we all just bombard the club with complaints and get this resolved either way?
  5. Although my local is now the Stoneham Arms I shall be frequenting The Cricks when I feel the urge, but sadly can't get the full benefit of their well kept real ales as I'll have to drive. I was always of the opinion the the Flemiing should pull out the stops and get the students in. There really is nothing in the area for me hear now. The Mucky Duck has been too plastic for my palate since well before the fire too. Marley has a plaque now as mentioned above: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-15258893
  6. Gonna really miss it, many a good night in there.Think It's been on the cards for a couple of years and if only they'd got pp to convert the old stables into a hotel it would.have prospered. Great location for a hotel.Heard the other day that Bob Marley played there once! Anyone confirm this?
  7. Guly up front, a lot of his goals only he could have scored.Bart ultimately for me though, never overly concerned when he steps in.
  8. A bit uncomfortable to get one's head around, but is it that we 'live in a thriving democracy BECAUSE there are people who live in fear?
  9. Poor lad, sort of injury that makes you go a bit quesy reading about it.

  12. it's primal, not necessarily excusable but us humans we can never say that we wouldn't act in the same way. We like to think we are different but we will hopefully never actually find out.
  13. work out honestly what your hourly rate is. If you're comfortable with the result then carry on, if not then move on. Eventually. My gut feeling is that you're not content whatever the result, be honest, do you enjoy your job?
  14. In fact Miche, if you can wait til payday I would definitely like to buy it please? Payday is next Friday btw, can't come soon enough.
  15. Miche, do you need to sell this week? I may be interested at the end of the month, had a few mortgage fees etc to fork out recently so a bit brassic right now. I can confirm tomorrow to save wasting your time. I'm assuming it's unlocked, I'm on Tesco atm. hamster
  16. Work smart not hard Bridgey. Sorry to hear you feel compromised so early into you new job mate. What sort of time management do the older heads work to? Can you get anything in writing that states that they expect you to work these longer hours without reward or recognition? It could pay dividends should you end up leaving under constructive dismissal. For example, you might send your line manager (you don't need to go any higher as he/she represents the company) with a simple request to convert the extra hours worked on a particular day into TOIL (Time Off In Lieu). The reply may tell you all you need to know and is admissible as evidence in a tribunal. Forward to home all correspondence relating to the matter.

If a certain local cab firm had had heir way the magic figure would have been 5 shy, including 2 wheelchairs. No names no pack drill but should they decide not to get in touch and offer some form of recompense to the group for cancelling the Hedge End pick-ups at very short notice, then the agreement for all home Saints matches will be up for grabs to any cabbies out there. In fact there is a good chance that it will include the Eastleigh chapter on a few occasions. Get your bids in.
  18. People near to wheer I sat last night were joining in the 'Woohoo' bit. Horses for courses I guess.
  19. When prices rise it is usually at a rate far in excess of what you coould match by repayments, even with generous overpayments.Compare the difference between repyment and interest only products atm. The difference could be yours to spend. Wisdom is learnt from experience, every now and then the market works in your favour and imho right now is one of those times. Timing is key.

  21. No offence to student nurses but wary of all female tenants if I am honest. Mrs h was once my tenant, never did get that last month's rent off her. Thanks for reminding me.
  22. Ask me again when I'm not having such a good day. It's a lonely world.
  23. Being gay is not 'up to no good' i think we established that quite some time ago.
