Seems that we got it all wrong about the booing ! Herewith a Skate take on last night's events : (on his behalf, please excuse the lack of punctuation!) cuteface 3:05 PM on 07/11/2012 I was there last night only a few people booed and only a few people left before the end also I'm sure those boos wasn't directed at the players but at the Brentford supporters if the players stayed they would of realised that also we applauded the players but they walked off only one stayed I enjoyed the football even if we didn't play well the other team wasn't much better only one goal and it wasn't hit in properly.

The club was bought for £13 million and there has been sizeable further investment but taking the current asset value of fixed holdings, players etc.. you will easily get beyond £50 million and that's without considering £60 million parachute payments over 4 years after relegation ! I still think that the club was a good investment and as the dealmaker (I am fully aware that ML was the moneyman!) Cortese should get credit for having the vision to make the purchase !

I guess that a draw would be best for us but all in all the results so far this weekend make life for us even more difficult ! Any points from WBA will be a huge relief !

It was very noticeable against Spurs that they were pacier throughout the team especially on the wings (Bale and Lennon) and at the back (Walker and Caulker) ! For sure it is not the only attribute required but it does help !!

Cortese is 'damned if he does, damned if he does not' ! Whatever he says will be dissected with a fine tooth comb, much further debate will ensue (particularly on forums like this) and we will probably be no more informed than at present ! I remember when he had his picture on front of the match programme and he was slated for making himself look too important ("he thinks he is bigger than the club" was one comment!). There is also a saying that "wise men keep their own counsel", this seems to be his way, therefore it is difficult to criticise if he is quietly getting on with his job !!

I always have total respect for our loyal supporters who travel long distances and particularly for midweek matches ! I am however a bit surprised that : a) Anyone expected a strong first team, 48 hours after the previous game! b) Expected no wholesale changes in the league cup as we had already done it in previous rounds ! c) Expects a refund after a dismal defeat ! Sad as it is, the reality was always there in advance of the game and (although natural to be angry and disappointed!) it is part and parcel of football today !

It's up to FIFA to sort it out once and for all and make an example of the Serbs ! Sadly though, through vested interests, incompetence, lack of reality and corruption they won't address the issue properly ! Gazza Clyne - Fonte - Yoshida - Shaw Schneiderlin Mayuka - Ramirez - Lallana - Fox Lambert Subs: K.Davis, Hooiveld, Cork, Puncheon, S.Davis, Ramirez, Rodriguez and Lee. Our left side has been desperately exposed all season but Fox's main contribution is crossing and set pieces so I have selected him and Shaw to solidify defensively as well as maintain a threat down that flank ! Lambert could be replaced by Jrod, Shaw by Reeves or a new LB come January ! I know that many won't agree with this but it offers balance on both sides and hopefully would help to bolster our defensive frailties !

I thought that yesterday he handled Bale pretty well with the obvious exception of the goal (being fair to him though, he is about a foot smaller and was running back towards his own goal) ! He does tend to slip a lot and I'm always surprised when the pitch gets watered just before kick-off for every match !

Sorry to disappoint you PES but I have read all of Micah Hall's blogs and almost every name he mentioned was familiar to me from this thread ! The names, the dates and the actions were pretty much known before he put it all together ! Like most of the others on here, I am impressed by Mr Hall's documentation of the findings, but to suggest that 'specifics' have not been raised on this thread is just cobblers !!
