I just heard that a bunch of tasty Brazilian birds will be at the Donny match on Sat ! As organisers of the overseas Guly fan club I expect that their presence will be offensive to some ! Please note that they may be holding up banners which could overstretch their skimpy tee shirts and that 'wardrobe malfunctions' may occur ! I beg you all to treat these 'tourist supporters' in the same way as you treat the Japanese followers of Tadanari Lee !

Relieved to see a strong defence of this programme by most posters as it is my favourite Saturday alternative to being at a Saints match ! Characters like Merson and kamara are clearly part of the formula and it works ! Sometimes (mainly midweek !) you get the likes of Tony Cottee, Scott Minto, John Salako, Gordon McQueen and it's just not the same ! TBF, Jeff Stelling is the key player as he is both professional and highly amusing, allowing the panel to be themselves and not take it all too seriously !

Sunday, watch Cape Argus cycle race from mountain vantage point overlooking bay (with a few beers!) followed by sundowners at wine farm ! In Cape Town with a lousy connection on an IPad (which I'm not used to!) and only followed the match on here ! Was depressed throughout but clung on to the scoreline for my sanity ! Monday is the 13th, so half way through the month and nobody has yet been paid for January ! This is pretty bl##dy serious for people with mortgages and other committments etc.. Difficult to feel sorry for the senior players on the biggest wedge, but TBF it's a nightmare for the others ! Their next match after today is Ipswich (at the Frathole!) on Tuesday and you have to wonder if they will be able to stage it at all, maybe the weather will get them off the hook again but they surely must be looking at 'ground zero' otherwise !!

When I heard the 'Adkins out, Warnock in' comment on Solent tonight I thought that it was just some nutter seeking a moment in the limelight ! Now that I see some posters on here giving tacit agreement, I just feel despair ! Despair not for the club but for the sad individuals who just cannot seem to comprehend that routinely sacking the manager is not the way to move forward and implement a sensibly agreed 5 year plan ! The progress made since Adkins arrived here 18 months ago has been nothing short of staggering and he fully deserves to see out his existing contract irrespective of what happens between now and the end of the season !

I am happy to note that Mr Chanrai is back in the fold and aiming to 'sort out' the mess at ground level ! This will enable the club to limp along whilst incurring more debts (at high interest rates!) and ensuring that we have further entertainment on this thread ! It's been suggested that Lumpitt may be sacked, although this would be illegal. (Not that it would worry AA or Chinny!). Clearly there has been a 'falling out' between DL and AA over the lack of transfers in Jan, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if he walked ! Let's face it, he's hardly going to stay on for the money as he no doubt hasn't been paid recently either !!

For the last 4 years of my working life, my commute went like this : Monday. Taxi to W.Cowes (25 mins). Redjet to Southampton (23 mins) Taxi to airport (15 mins) Plane to Brussels (70 mins) Taxi to appartment (15 mins) Return on Thursday evening. Mon to Thurs I was based in Brussels but regularly travelled to other European cities and 3 or 4 times a year I did a working tour of the Far East ! I am happy to see that some posters recognise Guly's talents and his contribution to our (so far!) very successful season ! More importantly Nigel Adkins and his (experienced!) backroom team of football specialists recognise this too and play him regularly ! It's not difficult to differentiate between the knowledgable and the idiots on here at the best of times but this thread does seem to emphasise it very clearly !!
