  1. Nowhere does he state that he is not willing to collect the vouchers ! Why then are you slagging him off ??
  2. That wasn't his point though ! He said that we should hold our best players back, settle for the play offs, and then bring back the 'big guns' ! Fortunately Adkins was not of the same view !
  3. If you care to check back, I ripped the p*ss there and then (along with many others!) so nothing to do with 'hindsight' ! Anyway I have no desire to hijack this thread but just thought that, as this was one of your most priceless gems you had an opportunity to admit that you made an arse of yourself ! Ah well, never mind....
  4. No mention of your : "We must rest our best players for the run-in, as our only hope is the play-offs" thread then ??
  5. Oi, I'm supposed to be the one with the glasses, you're the one with the short fat hairy legs
  6. Both of the highlighted figures have been plucked from articles written by people supposedly 'in the know', but given that reported debts when Admin Andy started the process were around £60mil and soon ballooned to £130mil, I would not pay too much heed to the accuracy of any quoted figures leading up to administartion ! The only FACT regarding numbers is the bottom line £130mil which was the figure used in court as the total outstanding to creditors, even that, we all know was contrived to minimise the taxman's percentage but any 'forensic investigation' has to assume that this is the starting point and work backwards ! I wish them well ! FC, please don't take any of Ho's figures as gospel just because he repeats them ad nauseum, he knows no more nor any less than any of us do !
  7. Adkins said all along that he was preparing a team which would be of 'championship standard' and not just to get us out of the 3rd division ! Looks like he was true to his word !
  8. As I stated in my post "I suppose it's a matter of opinion" but I do have a strong view based on (lierally!) hundreds of visits to both countries ! ( minimum 6 times a year for about 35 years!) I have eaten in a few of the 'starred' restaurants, but over the years mainly in mid/high level establishments. My opinion is that the general standard in Italy (from north to south) is much higher and more consistent ! So no, I wasn't joking !
  9. Bl##dy hell, you call us naive and then praise the football authorities ! Tell me again who allowed an invisible man (Ali al Mirage) to pass the 'fit and proper persons test' ????
  10. My daughter was racially abused (verbally) by a minicab driver in London. She called the police and was told that she had no chance of prosecution, she asked if it would have worked the other way around and was answered "probably love, I know it's wrong but that'sthe way it is" ! Ps. she is white, the driver was Asian !
  11. I suppose it's a matter of opinion but I don't think that Spanish cuisine is in the same league as Italian !
  12. Fair play to the Pompey trust in keeping the pressure on the club to do something ! At least they are not in denial, believing that everything is hunky dory, unlike our resident troll on this thread !
  13. I know the city very well but don't consider it as a tourist place as such ! San Siro is a must if there is a match on (great experience!). You can visit the Piazza del Duomo and the famous galleria and if you get a chance (and can afford it !) the opera at La Scala is world class ! The main highlight though is eating out, but avoid the main touristy type places on the main drags, much better to go local (get recommendations at the hotel !), The area of Brera is good for bars, restaurants and nightlife but be warned that nothing is particularly cheap ! HTH
  14. I don't know what all the fuss is about, it happens in Skatesville all the time
  15. When I worked in Brussels I had colleagues from most European countries and we regularly compared notes on salaries, tax, bonuses etc.. The top rate was often the most emotive topic but everything depended on the thresholds and also other factors such as mandatory church tax, separate rubbish tax, child allowances, stamp duties, mortgage relief, company car tax, etc, etc...) My conclusion after most of these discussions was that it was 'swings and roundabouts' and generally speaking people at the same executive level had a very similar standard of living, regardless of what their highest rate of personal income tax actually was !!
  16. Please, please tell me that you forgot a smiley to indicate that you were taking the p*ss ?
  17. Which, according to the Skates is very unfair and has been introduced specifically to hinder their 'paperthin' squads lately !
  18. I used to call him 'Scuffer' because he never seemed to strike the ball cleanly, even when he scored they were quite often mis hits ! A few regulars who sit around me in the Kingsland hated him because they thought he was lazy, personally I was never sure whether it was just an unfortunate type of body language which could perhaps be described as 'languid' ! Suffice to say, I wouldn't swap him for Lambo, Conners, Barney or Guly so am not concerned that we sold him ! Ps. please delete this post if the barsteward scores on Sat
  19. Alpine, would you like to see Walcott have a good game tonight or just Bale ??
  20. No.3 according to Wiki !! Strange name for a group considering there was nobody of that name actually in the band !!
  21. Correct !
  22. Apparently Liverpool are keen to loan Danny Wilson to a championship club ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Wilson_(Scottish_footballer) Given that Seabourne will be out for a while (same position/left footer) it could be a good option in the short term ! He was a sub for Scotland and was involved in the penalty that never was !
  23. To be fair, he had no right to introduce a fact which interfered with others' opinions :)
  24. A female CNN journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who had been going to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem to pray, twice a day, every day, for a long, long time. To check it out, she went to the Wall, and there he was, walking slowly up to the holy site. She watched him pray, and after about 45 minutes, when he turned to leave, using a cane and moving very slowly, she approached him for an interview. "Pardon me Sir, I'm Rebecca Smith from CNN. What's your name? "Morris Feinberg," he replied "Sir, how long have you been coming to the Wailing Wall to pray?" "For about 60 years." "60 years! That's amazing! What do you pray for?" "I pray for peace between the Christians, Jews and the Muslims." "I pray for all the wars and all the hatred to stop." "I pray for all our children to grow up safely as responsible adults, and to love their fellow man." "And how do you feel Sir, after doing this for 60 years?" "It's like talking to a f#cking brick wall" !
  25. Dear Corporate Ho, For pity's sake, give it a f#cking rest ! Life's too short !
