Just for the record, he did not score a goal !The ball had clearly crossed the line from where I was sitting in the Kingsland and(more importantly) the ref confirmed after the game that he awarded the goal before Papa tapped it in !!! Ps. IMO he showed potential and a few glimpses of possible class, but still too early to assess properly !

I agree with you Chris, the negative aftermath of a defeat, particularly after being ahead twice and losing to an injury time winner is understandable ! In the wider context I refuse to believe that we will be relegated, as this squad of players will pull us through even if only by a limited margin ! A five year plan, constructed by intelligent people, will not be destroyed after 2 months because of knee jerk and emotive reactions in the wake of disappointing results ! It is hard for all of us to endure this ongoing period of frustration but there is no other way at this moment in time, sacking the manager would take us right back to square one, so what is the point ???

There is a very fine line between success and failure in any game these days ! In the 94th min we had a strong penalty claim denied (against Hammond) and 30 secs later we are 3-2 down and the game is lost ! Schneiderlin and lallana both had excellent chances to put us 2 goals up at one stage in the 2nd half but both were scorned ! After the match on this forum there are 5 different threads about the manager, his performance and his future ! I realise that today's culture is all about immediate results but I cannot abide opinions which castigate one man to the exclusion of all else ! From what I can see he is working hard, with solid principles and pretty good judgement, sure, time will tell if he can achieve success but all this overkill after 10 games is a joke ! All IMHO of course.

You wot ?? You've obviously spent a long time out there !

I reckon that we owe them one for that horrendous cup defeat on the telly last year ! COYS

Personally I do have a bit of sympathy for him! He is used as a utility player and is normally the one to switch position in order to accomodate subs and/or change of system during a match! My main concern when he plays at RB though, is that he is very slow to turn and has very little pace to recover when the forward gets goalside of him ! If I were the opposition manager I would exploit this weakness and get my winger to skin him whenever possible ! If Murty/Thomas are going to be out for a while then (as someone has already suggested!) I think we need a loan to cover this position !! Ps. he is a steady CM in my opinion !

We are now pretty settled and are playing at home therefore it is one that I would expect us to win, even if only by a narrow margin ! 'Must win', 'six pointer' etc, etc.. is just a way of saying that the time has come for us to stand up and be counted in this league ! If we draw or lose it's not the end of the world, but it will surely hinder our development in the short term at least ! 1 - 0 Saints (Lambert)

That takes practise and requires us to score more goals too ! Now that would be worth celebrating !!

Tommy will be on the bench for tomorrow night, that's my Forecast anyway !!

Surely if Le Tiss had been suspended it would have come out in the press ! He's probably just on holiday !

Is that the Harding who won player of the month last month ??

That's why I sit there, it makes me feel young !

Oh dear, how sad, never mind !

I have a strong feeling that this guy is going to be their new messiah ! Everything just feels so right and it appears to be a match made in heaven ! Please join me in wishing them well for the coming season...... :):):):)

I'm not sure that even this is early enough ? I suggest that each time Saints fans indulge in the 'delights of the flesh' they should be thinking/planning the next move (ie. introducing their potential offspring to the world of red and white supporterdom) ! A few tips : a) Don't let on to the recipient, lest she isn't a believer ! b) Avoid any form of Skateism at all costs ! c) Think long and hard about your commitment to the cause ! d) If in doubt, pull out ! 09.08 on a Wednesday, shouldn't you be half way up the M1 by now ??

This is the Saints we are talking about, right ?

If I were MLT's lawyer, my advice would be 'let it rest' and naturally it will fade away ! Anything said from now on would not be of benefit to anyone, particularly not Matt himself. It was a mistake to include it in the book and yet another lesson learnt in life's great journey !

Ali Dia (turned that he was useless though and was pulled off after 15 minutes !).

So, why DID Mark Fry prefer Pinnacle over Liebherr?
eurosaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I know Ixelles but I lived in Overijse and then in Woluwe St Pierre, am now back living on the IoW. My son (alright_dave, on here) lives near Vilvoorde, so if Saints are ever on live TV again you can contact him and maybe watch it in one of the pubs in the Schuman area (he knows them all !). Ps. I don't even want to think about what I spent over the years watching Saints !! -

Fair point well made, let's hope that we are over the worst of the fallout now and move onwards and upwards with style ! Ps. which part of Bru are you in ? I worked there for 13 years !
