  1. I voted to stay but respect the result for what it is ! Not sure why you are asking me though ??
  2. Wasn't it the elected MP's who offered us the referendum and set the ground rules ??
  3. So, over 17.4 million British subjects are thick or easily led by the national newspapers ? Either that or 16.2 million British subjects are bad losers !
  4. Have been out for most of today (golf and a computer course) and have not had time to read this thread although I heard quite a lot on the radio in the car ! I voted to stay but it was a marginal choice based on media coverage etc.. however, the result was 'leave' and that is what we have to respect (the people have spoken !), no ifs, no buts, that is it ! Some of the bitter nonsense coming from the losers is totally pathetic and makes them look even more out of touch than they actually are ! True patriots will get behind the country and move on in a positive fashion, IMO nothing less is acceptable !
  5. Current comparisons with Leicester are largely irrelevant because of the freak season they have just had ! They will need a brand new (sustainable) business plan because the chances are that they will slide quite quickly back to normality and risky deals such as a 5 year, 25 million contract with the likes of Vardy could backfire spectacularly ! This coming season will define them as a club but personally I think they'll struggle to achieve anything because of the much greater challenges they now face ! Breaking the mould once is possible but keeping up with the giants is nigh on impossible these days !!
  6. I'm afraid that players/agents hold all the aces these days and as soon as someone has a good season then the negotiating position reverts to their advantage ! Teams like Saints in the 2nd level of Premier Leagus clubs (around 6th to 14th) have little option but to cash out at the optimum time or end up with nothing ! It's not Les's fault, nor Ralph, nor Kat, it is just a fact of modern day football life ! Sad but true ! We march on........ Ps. Wurzel, hope all is well in your world ?
  7. Have to say that I find the Jack Schitt version of events to be the most plausible !
  8. Agree it's a big loss but absolutely nothing we could do about it ! In this day and age with one year left and refusal to sign a new contract, you just have to cash in ! Sad but true !
  9. Totally agree, all rivalry goes out of the window when it comes to situations like this ! I wish him a speedy and full recovery !

    Euro 2016

Why do they always boo the opponents national anthem ? Winds them up to perform better IMO !
  11. If they sell either Lukaku or Stones (or both!) then his whole argument falls flat on its arse ! Supposedly they are sending out a message with paying £5mil compensation for Ron, this is merely scratching at the surface and they have a very, very long way to go to achieve their lofty ambitions ! Will be interesting to view their progress in the coming months/years !!
  12. TBF though, he shares the same name as a current England international!
  13. Whilst taking the Sun article with a very chunky piece of salt I would like to add that, unlike Pochettino, Koeman is not known to be particularly close to the players (possible exception is Classie) so I see no reason for them to jump ship to Everton ! Contrarily guys like Tadic, Mane and even Wanyama may well be quite happy to work with someone new ! The assumption in the Sun article is not based on any semblance of fact so should be dismissed without concern IMHO !
  14. There are clearly some nice places to live up there but do they have schools ??? :)
  15. I'm pretty sure that Gary Neville said that he will not consider another manager job in the foreseeable future, if ever !!
  16. *SPINPOT* ???
  17. I can't agree with the premise that loaning out 30 players whilst retaining their registrations is a good basic principle ! Certainly it hasn't resulted in Chelsea bringing youngsters through their system, instead it is a hedge against increased player values and is only done for financial reasons ! A few loans are fine if it helps develop young talent but at Chelsea it is nothing more than cold hearted business IMHO !
  18. Since he has been here our results (I keep hearing that this is a 'results business') have been extremely impressive and the progression immense ! As the man at the top of the football side of the organisation, he has to receive the plaudits, if only because, had it been the other way around he would have been slaughtered and probably sacked ! TBH, he has been regularly criticised on here (particularly during the summer meltdowns!) so he has not had an easy ride either ! Credit where it is due, he has done very well !
  19. He says "he thinks he's happy" maybe he's just not sure ! Strange but probably just his lack of English language skills !
  20. They'll end up in the same position as us though because the players will have their heads turned by agent agitation and the lure of big money contracts. Then they go on a strop, the club doesn't want dressing room unrest, they get a big offer, say it was too good to resist and off they go ! (ie. Lovren, Lallana)
  21. Who will ever forget the massed ranks of rancid Skates chanting "one peter Storrie, there's only one Peter Storrie" ? Oh yes, they 'fought off' the people who contributed to driving them to the brink !
  22. I realise that Bournemouth are not the richest club around but surely 3 quid doesn't mean that much to them ?? :)
  23. Plus points for your average Skate : A) Still fan owned. B) Still debt free. C) Still bring in £13 mil on match days. D) Still get to watch 'proper' football, no fancy Dan rubbish like the PL ! E) TCWTB still around. WTFILN :)
