Yes, they are the supplier (not the manufacturer) so any technical complaints are down to them but, as MikeyC said above, someone at SFC has given the approval, therefore the design, colour etc. has been a club decision !!

The deal does seem to bring more benefit to them than us ! Ps. They are not a manufacturer, they are a sports brand, they buy from many different factories in Asia !

The Adidas compliance unit is very strong (I have dealt with them !) so it is highly unlikely that kids would be involved, also the standard of factories in Asia these days is pretty high, in many cases much better than those in Europe (the few that are left, that is) ! Putting that aside, the ex-factory cost of these shirts will be less than a fiver !

The £50 price tag is a result of dealing with an international sports brand, their mission is to offer design, development, style, innovation and more sales outlets ! In this case they are taking advantage by using a basic template and adding our own badge and main sponsor, thereby cutting their costs ! TBF, we will probably sell more because of the 'brand awareness' and wider exposure but those who buy it are paying a premium price for a product that is no better than most standard high street items ! Also, don't be fooled by the 'moisture control' attributes etc.. they have mesh panels but basically it is a 100% polyester knitted fabric which makes you sweat in hot weather, however it is easy to wash and wear ! All in my (formerly professional) opinion of course !

You may well be joking but I was in the rag trade for 40 years and have been to factories all over Asia (including those which produce these flimsy polyester rip-off shirts!) and believe me, these cartons are standard issue ! Beyond that, I know nothing !

Perversely, I think that this is what makes it credible ! Shirts like these would normally be delivered in that type of carton and a 'whistleblower' could well have just plucked one out and taken a quick snap ! Might be wrong, mind..... !

FWIW I think that it is pretty crap, seems to me that Adidas are pulling the strings and have emphasised their '3 stripe' shoulder for their own benefit (it is just one of their regular warm up tops with our badge and sponsor on it!) rather than promoting any Saints tradition ! If we also have red shorts and socks then it's Liverpool mark 2, yet again ! No imagination, not Saints, not for me.... Grrrr...

Personally I don't believe in the 'blame game' ! He played his part in our season of PL consolidation, having scored a few critical goals and with a couple of classy assists too, like most of the others he took time to adapt and was inconsistent but he showed that he has some quality and might well kick on next season, particularly if we sign a top striker to either complement or compete with him ! IMO he is a big asset who is much more likely to improve than regress but I suppose that only time will tell !
