  1. Blackstock was sold for £250k, the same as BWP, but with a massive sell on fee. Burley did NOT want to sell him, this has been stated by him, Blackstock, Lundekvam and Leon Crouch.
  2. I always thought that the player only got his wages worth when he was on loan.
  3. No, i'm just saying that if our academy did go to pot then it would not be the end of the world. We would just have to adapt.
  4. Plenty of teams survive in this league without bringing through a couple of really good youngsters every season.
  5. Well Strachan obviously rated McDonald because he is having a love-in with him at Celtic, and Blackstock said himself that he requested a transfer to be guaranteed first team football. Burley said he didn't want him to leave but wouldn't stand in the way of the player.
  6. Since his days at Hull? That could mean from yesterday.
  7. Misleading title, perhaps?
  8. Blackstock and McDonald both wanted to leave. We didn't "let" them wander off.
  9. We have to make sure our most prized assets are secure.
  10. But not all of those are out of contract this summer?
  11. Here's to not reading the original post.
  12. Rasiak is another. They might include Smith in that list.
  13. Did anyone understand this post?
  14. Or when McMenemy was given time after relegation to build things....
  15. Scouts are sh*t, they told me to sign Bojan as a last resort after he scored 46 goals in 43 games and got world footballer of the year. (This is with 20/20 judging player ability/potential).
  16. Iwelumo is the closest I can get to that unfortunately.
  17. It's been like that all season. I can remember being away to QPR when Bart, Davis and Webster were just f*cking about taking shots at each other, and then 5 minutes in Davis wasn't concentrating, missed a cross and Dexter scored.
  18. Diarra was straight from you from day one though and told you that you were just a stepping stone. I suppose honesty must have some credit among your lot after all.
  19. Dejavu?
  20. I probably will, unless everything I own disappears into a black hole.
  21. You could argue it's better when there are fake players, as it's a lot harder to judge their ability.
  22. I lost count of the amount of times Perry and Lancashire had things covered in the middle and yet Skacel came inside anyway, leaving whoever was on the right for United at that time completely free. Not just in this game - he does it pretty much every match. Luckily he manages to get in last gasp tackles so it hasn't cost us (yet).
  23. No. When play shifts across, you are still meant to keep the same back four. Skacel for some reason decided to come to the near post instead of covering Gibson, who scored.
  24. Thank f*ck i'm not the only one. Defensively I thought Perry and Lancashire did very well, always forcing Berbatov and Welbeck wide where they couldn't do anything except cut back (at which point Skacel and James should be covering, which is what we truely lacked IMO).
