Part of me wonders if SR pulled the trigger now, before two "easier" games in particular Sheffield Wednesday, because two wins under this guy could help them sell his full time appointment. Put it this way - a lot of people on here were saying two wins this week wouldn't have changed their mind about keeping Still, so two wins this week for Eckert shouldn't get him the job either.

I love how you criticise Still for being a "theoretical tinkering coach", then you say you'd put Bazunu in goal as he's a better footballer but you'd stop playing out from the back, nullifying the only thing he is significantly better than McCarthy at, you'd drop Charles one of our best players so far for Downes who has been a petulant, stroppy tosser, and best of all you'd put a young centreback playing in a new league and country for the first time who has struggled to control and pass the ball accurately up front as a striker. Brilliant. No theoretical tinkering there.

Hinting at Fonte?

Not a switch of allegiance, but I would encourage anyone disillusioned with modern top level football to go down their local non-league club with some mates. Get to know the owners, the players, share a drink with them after the game, travel on the players bus to away games on occasion. It's genuinely a much better experience these days.

Keeping in line with some of the realistic suggestions I've seen so far I'd like Klopp, Guardiola, Lawrie McMenemy or Sir Alf, any of those will do, not fussed who.
