Would you take 4th from bottom next season now?
Saint_clark replied to doggface's topic in The Saints
No, as I believe we won't be in a relegation fight next year. -
Ward-Prowse, Stephens, Sinclair and Shaw I would imagine will all get cup run outs at least.
-
How have you got anywhere near that from a tweet about him going on holiday with his family...?
-
After the celebrations die down, Lambert is brought back in for a fitness test.

Cannot agree with this in the slightest. He went backwards no more than anyone else - keeping the ball was the emphasis this season. Not tackling? Absurd. He improved greatly in this department. As for giving the ball away - again, as did everyone else. It happens. They're not Xavi.
-
McGoldrick perhaps, although he is still playing in the FL. Best has performed at Prem level however.
-
He really wasn't that good.

I think Pilkington is a much better player than Snodgrass tbh. -
Surrender

Not sure about selling (unless you could set a minimum asking price and not just a valuation) but loaning would work well, I hate having to go through my entire reserves squad trying to loan all my youngsters out for players every single transfer window.
-
Really...? They don't even get that for Uniteds reserves. Fwiw, I don't think we will enter one. It kind of defeats the whole point of having the development squad the last few years.
-
Reading through the comments on that article, what a bunch of bitter, angry morons they sound like (not all, I admit).
-
Regarding Vegas being cancelled, I'm sure in the dressing room celebrations you can see a couple of youngsters there - Reeves and Ward-Prowse at least - so perhaps the club didn't want to take the squad on a trip where a few of them would be left out for 90% of the time?
-
Home grown players have to have been at the club for 5 years before their 21st birthday - I think. The subs bench being cut down and the fact that we're successful - and therefore have more to lose if a youth player doesn't perform - are the reasons we haven't seen anyone break through recently. Worth remembering that in cup games last season, Reeves and Ward-prowse played a few times with the latter even getting on the scoresheet.

A great story, but when I read this... ...I thought you were going to say that Fox got annoyed Lallana had stolen his thunder.
-
It would, but it wouldn't devalue the sale. As said above, Newcastle received around £10million for their naming rights - but everyone just calls it St James anyway.
-
What a load of tosh. The rumour that Cortese cancelled it, that is.

Not for me...he tries far too hard to be all the players and managers best mate. -

Great video, but I hated the "tough year" comment to Sharp. He doesn't need telling, no less reminding at a time like that. -
I'd wager all of those are down to mistranslations.
-
Watch the video of all goals this season - 2 or 3 of them come from Fox overlapping. And that's not including the ones that didn't make it into the video, or the ones that didn't result in a goal. The "Fox doesn't overlap" view is just as huge a myth as the "Fox passes the ball into the opposite stand" one.
-
Or perhaps the same Fox that, as I said, has to mark 2 players at once and would rather trust his CBs to clear a cross than let an extra oppo player run into the box unmarked. I'm not blaming Lallana by the way - I know full well the system we play leaves the fullbacks exposed, and that's the point. We have to cut them a bit of slack by taking that into consideration.
-
I wish it would tell you when players come back from suspension. My star CB was missing for one game but missed 2 because I clicked "submit team" a split second before I noticed he was available again - and I then lost 3-0, two of them the fault of the stand-in.

That bubbles song is so f*cking boring, I've heard it at least 20 times already tonight.
