We looked knackered

Nice bloke when sober. Bit of a tit when drinking. Still can't imagine him being a good manager but fair play to him for getting out there and learning.
-
Funny when we score and the kid behind JWP starts crying.

I had a meeting in London with a customer a couple of weeks ago. He asked where I was based and I said Southampton. He said "you're not a scummer are you?" To which I said I am. Every time I mentioned anything football related he'd do all he could to deflect it back to any other subject possible. Amazing. When I worked with them lot 6-7 years ago, they never shut up about how brilliant they are, how they will continue to win trophies and how we'll be lucky to become an established Championship side. I knew our time would come. I knew they'd get their comeuppance and I will enjoy every second of it. They rubbed it in too much for too long. Thats why this thread is brilliant.

How has this not sold out? What do the team need to do to being the fans in?
-
You'd think that being sat 3rd in the league after such a great start they would be very popular.

Yep. People see this stats about 'X amount of pubs closing per week' but don't realise that it was happening anyway. They also don't realise that new pubs open too. And old pubs sometimes reopen. That never gets reported. A trend has been more remote pubs closing and more central venues opening. Probably down to drink driving being taken far more seriously combined with people having to pick and choose their evenings out due to finances, leading them to choose an evening in more central locations. There are actually more licensed premises now than ever before. This is mainly down to the explosion of restaurants in the UK though. Good pubs will always survive.

I'm bitter. Of course I am. I will enjoy all their failings while enjoying our recent success while it lasts. Try it, you might enjoy it.

MATCHDAY UNCOVERED: Saints 8-0 Sunderland
Golden Balls replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The amount of high-fiving is ridiculous. Really nice touch for the club to allow the Dutch supporters in. What a game to come to! Pellé seems like a really decent bloke too. -
CONFIRMED: Rodriguez ruptures ACL - out for SIX months

Dropping S.Davis is very harsh. -
They certainly won't bend over like Sunderland did.

Managed to find out what Guly is up to nowadays!

That was so bad it was brilliant! -
I worry we (the board) would vote in favour of this. It wouldn't benefit us financially anyway as nobody (relatively speaking) really cares about Southampton outside of Southampton, and probably never will. This, any form of "re-branding" or moving the club outside Southampton would see me give up with the sport. Or go and support Eastleigh or something. As said above, I'd love to see the football bubble burst.

Most of his soft headedness has already been covered but he thinks the reason us fans might feel angered by him leaving is because fans don't like it when a good player leaves? Riiiiight, so we always give Theo, Ox and Bale bad receptions when they return to St Mary's? No Adam, it's got nothing to do with what sort of player you are, more to do with what sort of human you are. You egotistical tosspot!

Edit: it's @SFC_Chants

Heard that in the Northam against QPR. Saw it of a twitter account earlier (along with the "ooooh graziano..." chant too. Can't post the pictures with the lyrics but it's @saints_chants

Mark Hughes's phantom goal for the Saints Aug 1999
Golden Balls replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
I was there. Can't believe there's not a video of it. -
Off you go then with your suggestion....

Is the polite way to put it after I saw him hit a girl outside 90 degrees the night we got promoted from L1. Then seeing him off his face every weekend in town pretending he's a somebody. His attitude stinks and is the biggest reason he never made it.
-
Jesus. That thread is hilarious!!!
-
As with every single thread about this total oxygen thief, I must make a comment about what a complete and utter bellend he is. Nice to know that he has finally fallen out of football with all his "earnings" going to 90 degrees! Tosser!

Don't know what I could add to this that hasn't been said. On the train home now and absolutely buzzing!! Could have ended 2-5. Thought our centre backs were outstanding when under pressure. Quality travelling fans. Just shows what sensible ticket pricing can do. I'm so proud. I can't remember the last time I saw a team look so determined to win a League Cup match. And the reaction from the players at the end said it all, we're in this to win it!! Could do with a few big boys getting knocked out and a fortunate draw and you never know. My one concern is those players put everything into that so just hope they're up for the QPR game.

I'm also after 1 or 2 tickets for tomorrow. seanstroud@icloud.com

Seen a lot of "best fans" statements on twitter today. All very cringey/hilarious
