Yeah, no other banks call in debts.

Standing is way down the list of the reasons why 96 people died at Hillsborough. Even so, it played a part. However, the new safe-standing is just that - safe. Liverpool fans will be too stubborn to ever accept it. And the rest of the decision makers in football will be too afraid to implement it as they know they'll face a backlash from them.

Something about him losing money because of the job. Guessing he was funding the club somehow.

A mate of mine who supports Newcastle has mentioned this a few times. I've never really understood how that would work.

Hmmm... He stands at over 6 foot 3 Pelle Pelle He'll take us to the champions league Pelle Pelle He gets the ball under control Has a shot and scores a goal Gra-zi-an-o Southamptons goal machine. If Turkish likes it, it's a goer.

Agreed. They can't give to everything. But I think the Saints players in particular could make a gesture. 10% of their weekly wages? Even 1% would do.

New song for Saturday For Frannie Benali
Golden Balls replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
Saw that on twitter. Actually pretty good. No chance of it getting sung at half time though. -
Would be great if the Saints players all said they'd donate a % of their wages towards it.

Sepp Blatter considers "review of decsions"
Golden Balls replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
I'm not totally against this but not sure how it would work. Goal line technology works because it's simple. It's either over the line or it's not. So which decisions can a manager review? How many reviews can he get? If it's 2 and the manage has used 2 appeals then a 3rd referee error leads to losing the title, surely nothing has been achieved? Does the manager get to look at a monitor before deciding to appeal? Seems unfair if so. Yet he can be given info in seconds. If it's offsides. That's reasonably simple when an offside isn't given and the decision can be reversed. But what about when the lino flags when Costa is through 1-on-1 to win the title. A review shows he was onside, how do you restart the game fairly to give him the advantage back? Handballs? Yes it can show it hit the hand but how can technology show if it's intentional? And then there is the flow of the game. Seems the opinion is a review can take place at a "natural break in play". What if the ball doesn't go out for 10 minutes then a player goes in 2 footed and breaks an opponents leg? Then they go back to the review from 10 minutes earlier and realise a mistake was made. Do they reverse the clock and not send the player off? What constitutes a decision worthy of a review? A throw in can be an important decision if you have Rory Delap in your team. How long do you have to make an appeal? I'm sure big Sam would have heard a few seconds after Morgans 2nd goal that it should never have been our corner. Can he go back? If not, why not? I mean the decision leading to the goal was wrong. A big part of football that I love is the debate. I would say this would take away that element but I can see it leading to even more controversy. -
Agree this amount he raised does not do him justice. We need to spread the word. I like the idea of peppering SSN too. Anyone fancy posting something on forums of the other 19 PL teams?

Wasn't Boruc a free agent?

After today, I'm delighted. I think we've replaced players very very well and maybe vastly improved in some areas. And to still have Morgan and JRod here is fantastic. I have a few concerns. Last year the team spirit was astronomically high. Will take a while for them all to become anywhere near as close. A real shame Chambers went. Can only assume there was a clause. I still miss Rickie but can't hold it against anyone for him leaving. Finally, I think the start of this window has scarred me. I worry about being a victim of our own success again and losing a large chunk of players/manager all over again. Even with today's signings, there were parts of their interview where we just sounded like a stepping stone. Yes that's realistic, but I hate it.

They want compensation FOR THE CLUB! Honestly, it's just in their genes to beg.

Knew this was coming after his 2 goals.

Shame that.

I've seen James Beatties penis.

Like it. Purely because I've never heard a chant to that tune before.
-
Saints fans were brilliant in their support for him last night. He clapped them after one of his misses and you could see the support really lifted him. We must continue that support to get the best out of him. As for a chant, surely we can do better?

I love Gastons car.

Fonte proving to be the key to a defensive partnership. Much like Claus, he doesn't shine as the best defender but they're useless without him!

This thread is classic SWF. Anyway, I've been nominated to do the challenge today. The recent publicity of ALS/MND has led me to researching it further, understanding it more and donating. I'm clearly not the only one as it's raised millions in a few weeks. Therefore, it's positive. Clearly not watched many and not watch MLT in the OP.

Hog roast stand in the Northam looked popular. Someone gave me a free beer too. Thank you to that man.

No chance we would have improved on last year. I really wish Saints would take the lead in discounting tickets like the German sides. With the amount of money we got in through transfers plus huge tv money, ticket sales make up a tiny amount of the revenue. Can't remember which club it was in Germany but their chairman said something along the lines of "why charge €500 for a season ticket when you can charge €100? The amount we'd lose out on can be made up through 2 hours of negotiating on a transfer in or out" Would love us to do STs for £150 for renewals and cap them at 27k or something. The club would get huge praise and recognition as well as sell out every single game.
