  1. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/music-festivals/9348572/Isle-of-Wight-Festival-goers-forced-to-sleep-in-cars-as-rain-chaos-continues.html Sounds like a nightmare
  2. We had an email on this some weeks back, the family got into gear very quickly, contacted local Clubs/Groups etc. The guys down at RockBottom are very cut up about this as well. Abdul Majid has worked there for years and is one of the better doormen in town, knowing how to deal with the flotsam (inc us lot) that always end up at RB. The first train of thought was that being married with kids he had found one of the local lasses and was having a fling, but as details emerged it doesn't sound good and a lot of people are trying to help. The taxi fleet here is all linked via GPS to the control centre and in theory the Police could track the movements of any one of the thousands of cabs knowing the time date and start location, the problem is the sheer amount of data and the way it is stored. The story (unfortunately) mirrors that of a South African girl a few years back - she just vanished - same thing posters and stories etc. Eventually the Police arrested her former boyfriend and charged him with murder but they still haven't found her.
  3. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/timstanley/100166854/the-fast-and-furious-scandal-is-turning-into-president-obamas-watergate/ OK I know he has polarised opinion over there and I don't really understand all of this but seems like Obama may have had a Watergate moment. Any input from our correspondents over there?
  4. When something seems as off the wall as CVA2 there is often a reason we haven't seen, somehow they need to survive to a certain date to get the next PP? It's the only reason I can think of for them to be acting all Klingon. The PR is simply Soooooo false, they must be trying to avoid a final wipe
  5. Nope Campaign has gained momentum posters regular stuff in local paper etc http://www.7daysindubai.com/Witness-comes-forward-information-missing-sailor/story-16347244-detail/story.html
  6. yup words have been said
  7. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo FFS that is like someone telling us what will happen in the first episode of the next Game of Thrones series. DON'T SPOIL THE FUN with REALITY
  8. OK you lot. You have a Tasmanian up there these days who attended a Roar game and was shocked to see you all wearing Saints shirts at the game. He moved to Tasmania from Southampton & brought his lad up the right way - he now works in this crazy town as a teacher, wears his Sash shirt to England game sin the pub & is the latest member of our growing band. Dad then moved up to Brisbane. (Oh & if Dad does read this, he was fine, if a little wobbly by the end of the game and his GF is very bright and attractive )
  9. Oooh do you mean you're asking me to post my exclusive close up personally filmed video? OK no I won't. The glove is in a line with your right nipple, just under the shoulder. He placed it there having got himself into the address position. As I said, I tried it. The glove went further than the ball
  10. So July 5th players come back for pre-season training. They don't have a keeper in the squad. Isn't it time to resurrect the careers of the lads who played in the (legendary) TSW matches at SMS? We could loan them to the few for a month or so. No we woouldn't need a fee (other than a selection of fivers to pay Rallyboy's and a few others from this thread membership fees. But it would be truly worth it to watch them start the season with their current squad and a Saints fan in goal.
  11. Way hay! Here it comes.... My old mate Tiger gave a golf clinic last year while here for DDC. He explained all his swing changes and then gave everyone a "simple" golf tip On the range, get a spare glove and place it between your elbow & chest then swing away and don't let it fall out...... And no I can't do it
  12. WRONG Mythbusters on Discovery channel totally proved that you can http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/videos/polishing-a-turd-minimyth.htm Dorodungo mate, that's all you need to learn
  13. Oh yes. And Some would also say God bless the Berlin Wall for being brought down just as we were beginning to grow old
  14. Interesting. How many other locations do we have?
  15. 1. Handicap 21.3 (American System) in UK would be around 18 but I don't play enough at the moment 2. Just walk up and hit the farking golf ball - the minute you think about the shot you are doomed 3. NEVER listen to ANY advice on the course (unless you are playing with a Pro) and NEVER give advice unless asked for. Most important lesson. Everything in golf is about rhythm. Swing too fast or too slow it doesn't matter a damn about your grip or your stance.
  16. Perhaps there is a fund raising idea here for the cheats [/img]
  17. Although I must say I haven't met that many English Waitresses/Receptionists/Shop assistants on my regular trips back.....
  18. Hmm you said what I tried to avoid, most of FMDP's pals speak English & Russian and had a college education. Fair to say that their college is probably the same standard as (some) Uni degrees in Uk these days. Thing is it is not JUST about education, it is about motivation. The "Welfare State" simply is not as good so (for eg) one of her cousins' Husband topped himself leaving wife new baby & a 4 year old. She gets around $150 a month in benefits. Nothing else. No education? Life is pretty tough on supermarket check out wages

Have done trips in both Summer & Winter -10C and a gale takes the fun out of an open top bus tour big time as did 34C. Late Spring or Autumn is good, but also for air tickets etc pick the times of year when people are not travelling on their hols - it is often cheaper - now for example (between Half Term & summer hols, just before or after Xmas (January Sales but pack your thermals)

Ah. That explains the Polish Chicks thread then
  21. Hmm gotta watch what I type as FMDP is busy on her PC just over my shoulder.... TDD your OP question. No it's not wrong. BUT and this is one helluva BUT. Their motives are VERY different from those of "English Girls". In a really non-PC sweeping generalisation Brit Chicks seem to come pre-programmed with a set of intentions - find man, get house, have 2.4 kids, talk about other people all day long. Not just my missus, but all of her friends that I have met have a different set of programming - at the end of the day they have come up through a different system with much closer family ties and genuinely seem to value friendship ie they actually take time to get to know and enjoy the company of MY friends. Like Turkish has pointed out all her friends are fun AND fit, don't worry about Designer gear the way say Russian girls do BUT they always take care of their appearance and it always seems to take them about 5 minutes to get ready. Also and this may not be the case with a long staying Pole in UK, they generally tend to hate Soap Operas it's as if their lives are interesting enough and they don't have to worry about the lives of imaginary people. Anyway, like I said VERY sweeping generalisations and obviously there are many Brit Chicks who don't fit that view and many Polish chicks who are grade A cows. I am one very very lucky old fart and I know EoA is still recovering from the hug he got from FMDP last night
  22. Great stuff, well done to the one that did all the hard work:)

Century 21. Love that store. Bought a $4,000 designer jacket for $200. City Crabs - off Union Square Alaskan Crab Claws and the Oyster Medley. See if they are filming The Letterman Show in Times Square the days you are there, queue up for a free ticket and watch the Yanks being pumped up for their TV - it was free and you may see some mega stars Only advice - 4 days / nights is enough, and look for a hotel near a Subway station (Oh and you CAN save a few quid on a hotel for one night by coming home on a red eye. most hotels will keep your bags for the day after you check out giving you almost a full extra day)
  24. Precisely. Most of the cuts haven't even started yet, many Public Sector Workers have spent the last year in a kind of limbo while reviews were carried out, whole management structures cuts are still due to be announced in next couple of weeks (mate in Salisbury has this situation)
  25. Whatever happened to the "Legal Challenge" that TB was going to mount against that.....
