  1. 1976 Coombe Bisset had a Silver Jubilee party on the Village Cricket Field/Village Hall. It then moved down to a barn in Homington where the late Peter Gibbs used to live. He supplied (at least) two tankers of Gibbs Mews' finest Bishop's Tipple. I have no idea whatsoever if the event was a success. The only memory I have is a photo my Mum has of the "boyz" passed out cold in the corner of the barn at 10:30am the next day. Meanwhile we are going to have a Street Party (but in our back garden) (getting the permissions down here - ha!) We're not doing it because we are Royalists, hell 3/4 the people coming aren't even "Brits". We're having it because it is the chance for one afternoon on a Friday (our weekend) to have a Pythonesque afternoon of silliness. Cup Cakes in Union Jack holders, Bunting, Pims, Real Ale. Not to celebrate the Wedding per se, but simply to get us in the mood for Karaoke at Rock Bottom where we will all turn up and murder every love song ever written while wearing silly hats & Tee Shirts. Why? Because it will be different from a normal Friday
  2. Quality, well done
  3. Well, it would have done no good shooting her husband Tish boom, sorry but you did serve it up Oh me - I'd go back and make sure the process by which we did NOT sign Drogba/Adebayor et al when they were young was torn up & burnt
  4. I never post on Twitter, I don't have a profile picture. Yet I have one (allegedly) female follower who I have never heard of. That scares me. I want to be Hamster with no followers. Twitter is best lurked on IMHO
  5. Had the misfortune to come across Sheeps Eyes at a "business Banquet" once where we were supposed to eat everything or insult our guests I can tell you that they taste of The vomit that you desperately try to swallow back down again
  6. I thought you were a Spurs fan David
  7. What bstd started this thread. Now I cannot get that Godawful something something something on the 45... everybody needs a bosom for a pillow repeat ad nasuem in nasal twang horror song out my head again Jeez it cost me a fortune in therapy to get rid of it, I crashed 5 cars trying to turn the radio off when it was a hit. Now I never listen to the radio in a car just because of it
  8. A Cynic would notice that a not very funny so called Comedian is managing to get himself a great deal of "Air Time" from "Fighting this cause". Equally a Cynic would imagine that a not very funny Comedian may need to gain publicity in order to keep a career dragging along. A Cynic would also have noticed that said Comedian isn't even supported in his cause by Spurs fans from that comment above and those of my Spurs Supporting Jewish Future son in Law who just wishes he'd shut up and feck off But of course a Cynic can't say that because said not very funny Comedian has stood up to fight the evil of "Racist/Culturalist/isms" and can't therefor be called an attention seeking whore, so I won't call him that then
  9. OK that helps, but was it on EU US or the ME sat channel where you saw it? They said it was showing the same time as US when advertising but I wondered if it had hit Sky yet
  10. HBO's big new US blockbuster series has been advertised as being on down here for what seems like ages. Imagine my surprise when I tuned in and found it to be filmed in Northern Ireland (& Malta) and with pretty much an all British cast. An olde & chubby looking Sean Bean doing the sword waving in a sort of Medieval Fantasy with severed heads a spinning, more swearing than I'd have thought & good grief nudity all over the place (& on telly HERE!) Looked like a typical but big budget Beeb type series but no, all the credits are HBO stylee. So, Wednesday nights now booked for (what for us) amounts to a good dose of Violence and Porn, and possibly a ripping yarn as well 1st Episode had me thinking I'd missed a load of episodes but no, it all came good and seems quite promising. Any reviews for it up that way?
  11. But he wasn't the most gifted anything in the world. He was a nasty scheming back-stabber who worked to further his own dream of becoming PM. Forget Ideology, he simply (from his track record & tales from Tony) is not a very nice person AND he made some pretty major mistakes which are now hurting a lot of ordinary people that had nothing to do with the "Being Unlucky" due to outside factors argument.
  12. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/globalbusiness/8462094/Rebuilding-Japan-Self-restraint-threatens-recovery.html A more accurate and interesting piece about the "jishuku" that is causing change in Japanese life
  13. Hahahahahaha - I think that has to be the funniest concept I have ever seen on this forum... A Politician LEARNING from mistakes. oh dear what a remarkably sweet & novel idea. They NEVER make mistakes, any of them, ever
  14. Ah yup, agree with that Barnard - goals & 120% effort cannot knock it, defending from the front, Guly weak link out wide. No LB defending from the front no Guly making the mess in midfield being in an un-accustomed role - probaly will balance itself out Guly/Lambert, like you said LB doesn't get in the team because IMHO they fit the formation better. (but LB is the better natural striker) I'm sure you'll have the stats about more goals/wins Goes back to my Taxi for Barnard thread. We will miss him but it is not as totally catastrophic as some think IMHO, Guly & Lambo should be OK, more important our right side Midfield should be more stable and allow Butters to get into the game more instead of waiting to pick up the Guly mistakes
  15. Got this one down as a Brighton win. Got Daughter & her Fiance in town so REALLY unlikely to be allowed anywhere near a commentary Saturday. We'll all age 30 years have I told you so rows but still sneak into 2nd place by end of season
  16. So after the arguments about golas per game, maybe one thing to watch out for Saturday IF Guly plays up front. Who takes the "on the shoulder" role and "who drops off"? When Barney plays RL drops into the role of provider our wide. HOPEFULLY the injury to LB means that RL now takes this role & (finally) starts getting into those positions many of us hoped all season, with Guly being the man to drop out wide. Now THAT could be interesting.
  17. I think he's been a lurker. Went out for a smoke while on the crapper & found himself typing on the wrong thread then thought WTF get his comments in for posterity before this gets turned into a book
  18. Orrr Ah ha now we know why the ref was so bad Saturday. He spent most of the match using his right hand to play with his ultra deformed long thin penis behind his back thinking nobody would notice him getting off on a power trip
  19. Adkins under investigation for abusive rant at English Football's only one armed referee.
  20. Correct, BUT Guly has looked & sounded like a fish out of water when he has played wide right (Away at Charlton as an example). Not that he is a poor player, simply it was clear that he has little or no experience in that position and it doesn't fit into his strengths. He was there because needs must. Up front he'll be no doubt as frustrating, but he will be in a an area where he can cause damage when one of his "quality moments" happens. If that happens twice a match between now & the end of the season that would be 2 goals per game
  21. Good work Agent Peach. But sorry Dude you have got a long way to go before you reach the position of TSW King of the Blags.
  22. Wrong that is WIIFM or W2FM as a play on US radio stations. Very common use in large multinationals
  23. Try the ME airlines. Emirates Qatar & Etihad otherwise it will be Kenya or Ethiopean airways yuk Also if someone daft like KLM Lufthansa or Air France come into Plymouth may be cheaper than getting to LHR Also other EU couontries don't have the same daft green taxes so Ryanair/Sleasyjet or FlyBE to Europe & then across if you book early enuff
  24. Congratulations to the five players, outstanding effort by all of them and to be applauded unreservedly by all true Saints fans
  25. Oh come on, you MUST remember - they tried around 400 pages or so ago Hell I'm sure someone from the few came on saying it was OK because he had links to Italian Football
