Tenerife. Great place. Apart from the darned Timeshare sharks. Rent a car, drive around the Island and through the Volcano on your own with a picnic rather than on a big tour bus One point worth checking is the latest Exchange rates. Euro countries vs Dollar based countries can swing around like crazy at the moment in terms of prices when you arrive. For gauranteed sun then you need to come this direction, but prices are just nuts these days. Somewhere completely off the wall though and away from the crowds? Don't leave it TOO late as it does get cold later is Syria. Some time on the beach at Lattakia and some time at the historical sites like Palmyra, Alleppo & Homs. Not a riot, but great food and wine and beer and restaurants and also once there cheap. Have recommended it to many friends who have all loved it

Dear Ho. Do you have acces to ANY independent confirmation or evidence to corroborate your statement, especially concerning the debt levels and collusion? If you do, then I suggest that you may be able to qualify for several hundred years of extra tax benefits by passing that across to HMRC. If you do NOT then you really should be a bit more careful and learn to type the word allegedly in your missives. FWIW allegedly I agree with you. (But NOT on the Cheating Part) Oh and the scam as you call it dates back to "Why did Storrie TRY and bring in Al Faraj? Why was Al Fahim suddenly rolled into view?" A Kindergarten level of research would have revealed that something was wrong at that stage. (Jeez - even our dear LLS managed to work that one out for himself, how come "Freedom of The City Supertsars" couldn't? Surely not? this would mean that LLS is a far better Businessman and expert in Football Club takeovers than your previously revered Leadership!) And yet it did not stop the "We've been bought by billionaire" posting embarrassment of some of the Few on here

I felt sorry for the hypnotist I saw last night. He hypnotised 7 men and then dropped the microphone on his toe and yelled out "f**k me!!". What happened next will haunt me forever....!!!

Stupid idea for a thread will open up a whole load of class divisons. Drop it.

I liked Bruges, it is a chillaxing place I enjoyed a couple of days there. For something more happening I'd go to Munich, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Prague, Budapest, Ibiza, hell even Blandford or Sturminster Newton on a wet Sunday evening, but not really Brussels Ghent has memories - we stopped there on the way to play Anderlecht in the Cup Winners Cup in '77. No idea what the memories were as we were shredded and didn't sleep for 3 days. I do remember the most appalling stench as some truck emptied the sewers that caused most of the coach to vomit. (Or was that the beer)

An elderly, white-haired man walked into a jewellery store one Friday evening with a beautiful young blonde at his side. He told the jeweller he was looking for a special ring for his girlfriend. The jeweller looked through his stock and brought out a $5,000 ring. The old man said, "No, I'd like to see something more special." At that statement, the jeweller went to his special stock and brought another ring over. "Here's a stunning ring at only $40,000," he said. The young lady's eyes sparkled and her whole body trembled with excitement. The old man seeing this said, "We'll take it." The jeweller asked how payment would be made and the old man stated, "By cheque. I know you need to make sure my cheque clears so I'll write it now, and you can call the bank on Monday morning to verify the funds and I'll pick the ring up on Monday afternoon," he said.. On Monday morning, the jeweller 'phoned the old man and said "Sir, there's no money in that account." "I know," said the old man, "but let me tell you about my weekend!"

An important moment in the history of this thread. Ho actually gets it. Forget the standing up for The Few line he takes (he is a Supporter after all and why shouldn't he), forget some of the bluster, but he hits the nail on the head. There is NO money to be made out of Newco PFC for Chanrai. As the UK emerges from recession in the next 2-3 years there WILL be money to be made from Property Development. The value is the land, always has been and always will be. It is all about the politics of how to get the Council to accept a NEW form of "Sporting or Leisure Use". Chanrai is simply hedging his bets. IF he gets it up to the PL then even as a worthless shell it would be worth 20 to 30 million even in this market (and likely nearer 50 to 60). As a development? It would be worth 80-120 in profit. Whatever happens, Chanrai cannot lose. The fans can, but then they don't deserve sympathy, they gave their CEO & Manager the freedom of their City. We had boycotts protest marches and bitter rows - THAT is why they cannot claim to be the injured parties either

And was a damned fine village cricketer in the Salisbury & District Leagues. Was an early highlight of my "sporting career" (yeah right) that I actually competed against him on a number of occassions (and we won once!). Nice guy

Oh dear, if only you really knew the full story. The ONLY reason that we were allegedly forced into admin was because Barclays Bank "unexpectedly" reduced our bank overdraft without notice. This strange occurence allegedly happened very shortly after a witnessed meeting between the Bank Manager and a person. Equally strangely, said bank manager allegedly started a new job very shortly afterwards. Nope, we did not gamble and lose, somebody stitched us up, whilst a series of discussions regarding a takeover were ongoing. People know who was involved and spend a (worringly paranoic) allegedly great deal of time and effort in seeking the truth to unveil this, as it would be a major story that right now nobody wants to see in the media. But dream on pfc, what happened to Riquelme? Or was that Ho?

Bet he didn't see THAT coming, and he's supposed to have been psychic?

Let's face it gang. It's BORING these days. Yeah it's great things are picking up on the playing front, but the problem is that no new blood is bringing in new ideas. Little news, little gossip which used to be the lifeblood and a general consensus. Needs shaking up a bit we've run out of things to argue about Essru's idea makes sense, but maybe one new thread a day to start with

Yep, and your witch-hunts are why the UK lost a $60billion defence order this week which would have made a huge dent in the balance of payments deficit. The whole world is corrupt

You can tell they haven't sorted out any Mods. We can do eggsactly what we like

Good spot BTF and a good read that's been missed in the general dig at Ho & Co. Spells it out very well. Fat Lady - pah, she only just had her first truck load of Donughts delivered. Onwards with the thread until at least March it is

Hey, I did say there were probably zillions out there. Was only pointing out that a techno nerd with censored innernet found it easy to use and all that. Will try out your recommendation 2moro

Nope. Chanrai lent the club money - that is how he got into the sorry mess in the first place - exact figure is on about page 300 it was secured against assets of the club hence his status in the CVA. Then there was the advance paid last season by the PL as a special case. And then the cash to the finance company for paying up the transfer fees quickly I don't think for one moment that you will do anything but keep going, but just be very careful, you don't have any chickens left to count until the next sucker comes along
-
I expect also that some of the money has also been used as security for "Factoring of player sales invoices". In much the same way that we did "deals" with Spuds & Arsnil, when they had their (luke warm embers) sale of players, most the deals would have been partial payments up front and staged payments. A number of companies now offer to "discount" those invoices secured against TV or similar PL payments. Pretty sure that one of them cropped up as being mentioned in dispatches. Again - robbing their future to pay for the present. Chanrai also had secured loans in the club, those are from those Parachute payments - after all he REALLY doesn't want a stadium, so no, they won't be getting huge funds in and I would guess they are now trying to borrow cash against the parachute payments due in 3 or 4 years time......
