  1. Agree with that. Whilst Smalling played well defensively, his complete lack of threat and support to Townsend down the right led to far too much workload on Baines. Woy needs to find cover for Walker & see if anyone is better than Johnson, Clyne needs to get a run in one of the friendlies. Lambert needs some goals & form for us BUT I get the feeling that his inclusion in the squad has brought a sense of feel good back to the fans AND the players, I sense just a slight change in attitude. Comparing him to Carroll you can say there is not much to choose as footballers, but I get the gut feeling that Rickie is bringing something else into the squad that Carroll could never do - Enjoyment & FINALLY the feeling of England being special for a player. We saw in SA how lame the Character of the England squad was. Take that factor and his ability to defend from the front, he'd get the nod and would get a couple of sub appearances when plan A is not working
  2. That is brilliant. Shame I can't post it or forward it to anyone from down here. Walls have ears and all that
  3. Isn't Adrian Chiles on Twitter? He'll know a few now
  4. Oooh did that confirm what I posted the other day? And Tony Jacklin? Really? Is Strictly some spin off from 50 Shades?

  8. Trousers will PM you with details of his morning Railway Journey so you can learn how to cut & paste pictures from an Iphone with ease. You might be able to get a trial free subscription to Accountancy Today (no you don't need to read it just cut and paste an irrelevant snippet from time to time You'll find an eloquent Rallyboy on Cars go Wild on Discovery Channel to help you understand over emphasis And of course The Golf Channel or Hello Magazine Rory & Carolina will teach you everything you need to know about Golf. Just leaves skiing, Chianti and Horton Heath to learn in detail, oh and maybe a power watch of the 1st 25 series of The Antiques Roadshow so you can value anything properly Then to become a true legend send some spies out to listen for anyone speaking in Russian at a game involving poorsmuff MUCH simpler than reading all 92,000 posts
  9. No, that is acceptable within the rules of golf. It only incurs a penalty if one ball hots the other while in play, once they are in the hole the ball is deemed to not be in play Meanwhile, think it's time for
  10. RIP Truckasaurus. Quite a sad day when you realise that this thread may outlive many more of us nutjobs. Time we start to look at a strategy for the future. We've seen quality over quantity at work so think perhaps we need to give the Yoof a chance. Maybe under 12's can get an extra free post a day?
  11. Just because you have some strange mind and open internet access doesn't mean the rest of the world has to follow. Anyway I did that years ago and all we get is

  14. I think you meant Zrub mi Loda. Got Mrs D_P's pals to do that just after I got them to Pole Dance in a Gentleman's club last Wednesday. The boss thought it was funny
  15. Been too bloody hot down here this summer to give any thought to golf for 3 months. But don't worry I'm dusting the bats off tomorrow for their first "Winter Season" outing before the whole Race to Dubai gets going next month Still not safe to put the Morphy Richards away though. Rather like a piece of dog turd stuck on a shoe that you can't see there MAY still be a smell hanging around from their previous Admin that since April has been stuck in limbo land someone between nasty letters and a full blown Court Case. Certainly from what I have heard, IF the Liquidators of the (very oldco) can find some mug lawyers in the UK there seems to have been a "possible financial irregularity" while they were in admin. Not one of the sources has mentioned anything other than what amounts to a rumour along the lines of "Old Co, Liquidator, New Admin, Lawyer, something not right" Finding the mug lawyers seems to have been a problem as I have now heard the same story from multiple different sources and not only in the legal field. Basically, BDO/PKF are very big and outsource a lot of work, so finding someone to sue them is proving hard and causing much mirth as it would mean a slice of the gravy train gets turned off for whoever takes it on. The usual comment I have heard is "Best of luck with that then". Anyway seems an allegation exists that some payment may have been made that the Liquidator believes was incorrect or should not have happened (ie IMHO that has to mean they think there are more missing millions) while it apparently appears a clear case to take to court for Judgement, the politics is the problem. The interesting twist on this I heard this weekend from a local lawyer was that because (as mentioned previously) the old forensic work is "Still Ongoing" the Liquidator may take a different approach and consult with the Football Authorities. Quite where all that leaves the newco is anybody's guess. Everything sits on the desk of a lawyer and it seems the world simply don't care or cannot afford to upset the big fish these days. BUT the new source did clearly say IRREGULAR payments and Made while the Club was operational. So maybe there is still a sting in the tail of this story. Should not be too difficult for anyone who goes to pubs frequented by Lawyers in London to pick up snippets as it seems to be a big in joke at the moment.
  16. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2456591/Artur-Boruc-inspired-Jan-Tomaszewski-heroics-Poland-plot-break-Englands-hearts-again.html Easy story for lazy Journos
  17. Sorry mate, Ohio got there first. Meanwhile. God bless the French, the only right thing they ever did in life was inventing the Bidet. Cussons Imperial Leather, almost as good a smell as fresh coffee when one wakes in the morning
  18. Burn The Witch! But a valid point
  19. Wow, what a goal and totally agree with ^this Now IF we could only get Gaston firing as well.......
  20. So, our first Sandance of the Season out at Atlantis was Eagerly Awaited in Chez D_P. Eric & Damascus Saint came round for a Full Roast Beef Lunch. The PROBLEM as at all Sandance gigs is that the Stage is at the front of the beach and the toilets are 100+ Yards away at the back with 14,000 bladdered people squished into a strip of sand about 75 yards wide.... So we stocked up on Honey Vodka's & Margherita's to reduce the nightmare of the trip to the bogs. We got there early (traffic jam around 7pm meant one hour queues to get in!) but we actually wanted to see The Wailers. And wow they put together a great set of all Bob Marley's classics. Very unusual for a warm-up band playing at Sunset to get the entire crowd dancing & singing along! Yes OK there were still two Original Wailers members in the band and Yes it was kinda like watching a Cover Band but they really were great. Definite Buzz in the crowd once they finished. Then Of Monsters & Men. I'd been looking forward to them. And was actually disappointed. Their Vocals really are not very powerful (in an XFactor Judge kind of way). They were also strangely just "kind of on the stage". There was no great LIFE from them. Sure they play well, they have a great sound but they were well, kind of Icelandic I guess, so they went from a looking forward to, to being backing for a trip to the loo & Bar. The Wailers had been just about worth the 45 quid ticket, IF I had paid that only to see Of Monsters I would have felt ripped off. Which brings us to the reason we were there. Brandon & The Killers. They've long been a favourite band of mine, and we saw them down in Abu Dhabi 3 Years ago. Back then we really enjoyed the gig, but had been only whelmed by their Stage Presence and "Banter" This time. KAPOW. They slinked on stage with a gentle wave and from the first chord the place went nuts. No nonsense, no build up, wham, straight into Mr Brightside. Bloody Hell lost our voices on the first song - THAT never happens. From that moment the energy on stage and in the crowd never dropped, their new stuff sounded so much more powerful live, Somebody Told Me & Human were part of their main set not kept until the end and Brandon TOTALLY interacted with the crowd - such a change in him from Abu Dhabi - almost as if he is now confident as a front man? or maybe he felt he could get away with more in Dubai? A 90 minute set of wobbling, pogo-ing (at our age FFS) and singing. Hell, there was so much going on that I didn't even TRY to use my point & shoot Video at a gig for the first time ever! The lads have certainly turned themselves into a band who are REALLY worth seeing live. So glad that we arrived early and were dead in the centre of a crazy "Mosh Pit" (really?) (Think poor old Eric led the Pogo-ing in an attempt to see the stage) They still need to create one or two more new "Classic" hits, but they have grown up into a proper Stadium Band. Kind of sad really as I honestly do not think Sandance will be able to beat them. We've had some great nights there, singing along to Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, Kaiser Chiefs, Travis, Florence et al. The Killers was just a level of "Gone man, solid gone" above them.... And at the end of it all I found myself totally lost in the middle of The Marina Dubai, with a Dead Phone and no sign of Mrs D_P & Damascus Saint, even MORE strange I turned a corner & found myself at Barasti, the Beach Bar we use for Dubai Saints games, in time to get (another) beer just as England kicked off the second half. Meanwhile a panicking wife was calling out Search & Rescue for me back at the Venue.... Oooh I copped some flak for that No idea how we got lost, finishing off a brilliant night rushing to see if SRL got on to play for England was never a thought that crossed my mind.
  21. Do as we scare you to do Minions. Meanwhile we the elite will do what we want, oh and you pay the bill. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2454554/Climate-change-ministry-spends-300-000-DOMESTIC-flights-UK-coalition-row-erupts-green-energy-policies.html
  22. Does this now mean we don't want Morgan to play for England then? Wilshire has opened up a new line of debate IF it gets taken that way as to what IS an English"man". What kind of tests could you apply? KP & Trotty seem to be all things English these days with the 3 Lions running deep in their blood. Does Morgan drink Carling or Kantebrau? Does drinking Chateau Neuf Du Pape & liking your Roast Beef flavoured with Garic make me French? My kids are as English as they come, but have spent around half their lives living abroad. At what point did Mo actually become fully English? Not sure in the current planetoid you could count being educated in the "English System" as qualifying you as it seems a lot of the Education these days tries to add "new culture" to the mix. Should Januzak play for England? No way. But then Lucas Podolski is related to my wife's family so why the hell is he playing for Germany? Morgan has now lived HOW long in an English Culture? It seemed an innocent Tweet by a numpty footballer, but it could lead to an interesting debate.
  23. On the subject of getting a slap, own up, which of our TSW Oop North Members is this member? Eric was up that way recently. Or don't we have someone who's a bit of a Malteser himself? Surely it isn't Pap? (You have to click the link to see the pictures & Video )
