That Yafai fight this morning was an absolute barnstormer. Both boxers going at it from first bell to last. Would be good if a British boxer could win a gold, they're having a great tournament and that would be the icing on the cake.

It highlights our inability to compete with a club that has a load more money. If the Athletic article is true we offered him a longer deal that was overall more money. No idea if it is correct though, and only a handful of people on the planet would have been proxy to the intricate details of the individual offers. Anyone else is just guessing.

Why are they concerning? Club A has more money than Club B, therefore Club A become a more attractive proposition for a player. It happens at every level of the game, all the way down to Wessex League.

It's totally 2 different elements. Owner says I'm not putting any money in and tells the rest of the club to get on with it. The rest of the club are doing quite well over the past couple of seasons. We've got rid of most of the dross and signed well within the constraints we have. Hopefully a cash injection from Ings and maybe one or 2 others will allow them to carry on their good work.

£30 million is a decent amount for someone in the last year of their contract. All the stories about him wanting European football seem somewhat wide of the mark!

Maybe they are all leaving with Ward Prowse and we are so skint that by the time the season starts we'll be raffling off the chance to be on the subs bench to a fan every week.

Not sure the scant amount of leg room at St Mary's is conducive to that. I'd either get wedged in and stuck or rip the arse out of my trousers because of having to go down at a funny angle.

I wonder whether they would be carrying on if people hadn't booed it at the end of last season and in the Euros? The England team seemed very committed to carrying on the gesture, in part because of the fact that there was so much negativity around it. I can't see it stopping. People will probably get bored of booing eventually because they will realise it won't force the players to stop and it will become a normal part of the pre match routine.

Maybe we ended our interest because we're going for this Doig chap from Hibs instead? He wasn't in their squad for yesterday's season opener.

Not sure what Valery did to annoy the Swansea players but they seemed to spend a lot of the second half kicking him.

Who's to say Fred and Barney wouldn't have been experimenting with their sexuality too? They'd have spent a lot of time huddled closely together at night to keep warm on hunts and suchlike. There would have been a life expectancy of about 30 back then so highly unrealistic that none of the adults suddenly died during the run of the show. There's just no historical accuracy at all.

You could argue the same about armpits and legs too. Unlikely that Betty and Wilma were shaving any body hair.
