  1. Wait until all the crazy Take That fans trample all over it while making circle pits and moshing solidly for a couple of hours.
  2. Watched the press conference and thought it was fine. He took the blame for the 3 defeats and said that they would tweak the way we play to make us better. He mentioned about players being used to losing, which is what has been said on here a bunch of times. Then talked about how he's been brought in to change the culture which is true. Let's see how we line up today and whether anything has been tweaked to improve the performance.
  3. Some of the more pessimistic fans from both teams will be seeing it as their first relegation 6 pointer of the season.
  4. Surprised Brighton lost. Strange considering De Zerbi is the best manager in the world or something.
  5. Nice finish
  6. Yes, they gave it a good go in the second half when the subs were made. OWTS went on for about 15 minutes at one point. Thought Ipswich fans were a bit crap other then after they scored. They had loads there, are flying in the league but didn't sing that much.
  7. Partly I think that's because in those games we've been behind and the opposition has sat deep and cut down any space. We also lack clinical strikers which is a huge issue. Add in to that the fact we pose zero aerial threat so any crosses that come in at height are easily dealt with. Hopefully Stewart will help in both respects.
  8. Second half shows we have to play Charles in midfield and Bednarek at the back. As soon as Charles went in there he won tackles, made interceptions and gave us better shape. Harwood-Bellis immediately looked happier having a proper experienced CB next to him and some cover from midfield. Surely now the manager will realise we have to play with that solid midfield base. If we do we'll be fine.
  9. Didn't he change it at Swansea before they went on their end of season winning streak? I'm sure I read one of their fans on here saying that he did.
  10. Maybe because his career has always been managing in the top flight and he learnt from mistakes? He's also been managing twice as long as Martin. I'm not saying that Martin will be the same, although he's still a relatively young manager.
  11. Worth remembering that De Zerbi was sacked from his first job and then relegated his next team. I wonder if he would have been written off as a hipster appointment if we'd appointed him? He's young, plays possession based football and it's likely most people wouldn't have heard of him.
  12. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/d4d93e74-5478-11ee-bc18-cbdd58145dc6?shareToken=7a02d5b946c41ec24f82b614795c00a7 There's also a Dispatches programme on C4 tonight about him. Potentially more 90's/2000's comedians to be implicated too.
  13. I don't think anyone has time to laugh at us when Man Utd have 6 points from 5 games and a team in total disarray. Pity Spurs turned it around so late. The Villa game seemed quite nuts too.
  14. Their keeper was McCarthy level of bad with his feet. I didn't mind us putting pressure on him, it was just that we went too kamikaze at times which allowed them to pass through into a load of space. The game could have been a lot closer if we'd taken a couple of our chances after winning the ball high up. Sadly they were squandered because we are not clinical enough up front.
  15. There were plenty of midfielders back then who couldn't do it all. There's also plenty of modern midfielders who can. You're just hand picking some of the best players of that era and comparing them to Will Smallbone which is ridiculous.
  16. Jamie Vardy must have put up with the shite his team were serving up last year because he stayed. Why does it have to be CB's and midfielders who challenge him? Can't keepers, strikers or wingers do it? How do we know that there isn't a culture where coaches and players can professionally put their point across? We have no idea what happens in the week behind closed doors.
  17. When they were taking goal kicks it was funny looking at the set up because our midfielders and full backs pushed forward to close down their players and there was no one from either team whatsoever in the middle of the pitch for about 60 yards. It looked like the last 10 minutes of an evening kick around up the sports centre between a load of 35-45 year olds who were all blowing out their arses and thinking about their post match pint.
  18. We're favourites for the win with the bookies, so considering the overwhelming reaction from yesterday's game is that we're the worst team to ever play football or something I presume all our fans will be lumping on an Ipswich win. Our city will be as collectively rich as one of those little Spanish villages in the hills who always seem to win £8 trillion in the lottery.
  19. Fuck me. No one apart from Pompey cares about us enough to laugh, and it's not like we've lost every game is it?
  20. Mental first half. You couldn't cut that down for a highlights package because someone was either scoring or nearly scoring pretty much every minute. Feel a bit sorry for the CB's. Both young, one never played for us before and the other isn't really a CB and should be playing in midfield. This could end up 8-5 or something stupid.
  21. England U21's won 3-0. Harwood Bellis played, Edozie on the bench.

    U18s

    U19's lost 1-0.
  23. Had sketchy internet while at a festival so could only sporadically load pages to see what was going on. From what I read I expected to see some horrendous goalkeeping in the highlights when I watched them, but there really wasn't. Keepers routinely palm shots back into the penalty area. I've not seen much from this weekend but noticed Ramsdale did it against Man Utd who probably should have scored. When the ball is flying towards you at pace the reaction is to save it in any way. When there's more time it can be palmed more safely to the side. As posted above, Onana who is a world class keeper, let one in at the near post (another myth that has been busted in an Instagram message I have previously posted by Kasper Schmeichel) he was also made to look silly last week in the 1v1 against Forest. Largely the goals this season have come about through a few great shots, poor defensive team set up, a lack of midfield covering breaks and some laughable defending.
  24. Superb window really. After last season's cluster it seems that SR are working well towards fixing what was broken. Am very excited to see what this team can do once everyone is bedded in.
